$24.65/TB is a decent price for this capacity and I think about the lowest price for this drive so far.

Get four more 😉
Smaller ones have also been reduced. All around the $25/TB price point.
Can this be put into a NAS?
Yes but expect potential earlier failure rates. I believe specific NAS drives are built to be able to operate 24/7 in a higher vibration environment like when running multiple drives in a NAS.
In saying that, this still could last just as long. I'm no expert. But i built my NAS with just NAS drives based on this info. I'm tempted to get this just for temporary offsite backup of my nas.
Edit: For my NAS (a Synology) this isn't listed on the officially supported drives but i would still assume it will work.
I believe that these inside of the case are Enterprise grade Helium 3.5" white label hard drives. So it might be fine in a NAS. Enterprise drives are rated for 24/7 operation.
How do they compare with WD Red plus?
The 10T ones I bought in 2019 certainly are - they're all singing along well in a zfs array.

speaking of synology, i've recently found out that the newer top of the line synologies have HDD whitelisting, which is semi pain to get around and causes 'unverified drive' errors which you cant get rid off. Luckily i found this out before upgrading my syno, i'm looking into truenas scale now as my upgrade path.
wtf why would they do that?
@fredblogs: apologies for not checking back, to answer ur question, i'd say money. They launched their own rebranded drives and want to lock the ecosystem down. Though this is for the higher tier NAS models, maybe it will trickle down to the smaller models eventually.

Hi, I can confirm that this work in synology NAS but this is in the new os. Not sure if it will work in the old one.
That's a lot of VR JAV
Disgusting. Utter filth. Please tell us where we should actively avoid so not to come across this material.
Surely you should be more disgusted with the sites that only sells fans.

Back up to $557 :(
My windows 10 can't detect this HDD…
second time……
I don't know what's wrong..
so disappointed
Have you shucked it? Might be an issue with the 3.3v power?
I feel like it's an adapter issue.
I will try when AU plug arrives and share here
try different USB & power cables and a different PC. If it still can't be detected, the drive is dead…
unfortunately i have no different power cable. :(
I will try when AU plug arrives and share here
Camel3x says lowest was $434.35 back in March but this is a good price. I still have 4 x 14TB spare drives but I'm still tempted…
