Waiting for Amazon price match in 3..2..1..

    • Do they match Mwave? They didn't a few months back when Vanguard and Battlefield were 50% off there.

      • Hmm true guess we will see

      • +1

They don't usually match the Mwave deals but, interestingly/bizarrely, they have matched the delivered price of Vanguard, dropping it to $44.99 today. The extra $3 for the X-series version (even if only for resale down the track) is the better buy.

Amazon have also matched the $19 B2042 price, but not the FC6 price yet.

    • It's been price matched :)

  • Need PS5 version..

  • The price of Battlefield 2042 sure dropped heaps within the past few months. The game can't be all that bad?.

    • Google reviews and see.

That was my hope too ahaha.
I just signed up to PC Game Pass Ultimate from the recent Eneba deal. Game Pass gives you access to the EA play subscription, and you can play BF2042 for 10 hours.
I have 53 mins on the game. That's roughly how long I have spent waiting in the game to find a match, cannot find one, just watching YouTube while waiting lmao.
Cross play option is enabled too, queuing for 64 player matches, so no one in this region is playing.
I could try VPN to EU or NA or something but no…. is this is fastest I have uninstalled a game.

    • I have been playing since launch, its improved alot. I play on PS5 and have never waited more than 5 seconds to get a conquest game

      • really? I am playing at night and I have queue both breakthrough and conquest, 64 players mode, cross play enabled. Cannot find one.
There is no server browser either D:

        • I only play on the 128 player modes, and they are always full. Very rarely joint a game with AI either. Might be an issue cause youre on PC, I know alot of console gamers turn off PC cause of the hackers

          • @Thunder-Wombat: The pain….
Thanks for the info though, but I don't think I will be installing it again to test that theory where there'd be 128 player matches for PC (cross play).
Yeah, it makes sense console players would have cross play disabled if there is rampant hacking.
Without server browser, can't really tell but to assume that the player base is non-existent in OCE.

      • There must be a lot more players on PS5 and as a result buyers for the PS5 version. Must explain why the PS5 version still goes for more money.

        • PS5 copy is down to $29 at most retailers now as well. They just charge a $10 premium on next gen copies

@Thunder-Wombat: I'm pretty sure you're confusing that with the PS4 version. Because as the PS4 version is down to $29 at retailers. The actual PS5 version seems to be sticking at $39.

              @hollykryten: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/playstation-battlefield-2042-ps…

Not confusing it at all, $29 for next gen and $19 for the others

@Thunder-Wombat: Kogan isn't exactly a retailer. It's shipped out of a warehouse. You can't actually visit a store to get that. Also you've still got to pay shipping on top of that price if you don't have the Kogan membership.

That would be the same as calling Amazon a retailer.

I'm talking about an actual B&M store retailer. You know an actual retailer.

                • @hollykryten: Not sure why you are even bothering to fight it. Kogan is an online retailer and postage is the same if you're buying from MWAVE, and if you did your homework you would know JB was the same price till last night when their current sale ended.

Plus you can easily price match at a B&M store.

It really is that bad! I'm a long time Battlefield fan and preordered the game before launch expecting there to be some bumps in the road. This is one of the worst games I've ever played… even with all the patches it's fundamentally not even a Battlefield game anymore - basic features missing, specialists are a joke (128 of the exact same character model running around), map design is poor, game performance was terrible whilst looking worse than BF5.

Unfortunately I purchased through Amazon and they wouldn't accept a refund once it had been registered. I really wish there was a global class action to hold EA to account for this robbery. The snail pace of improvements over the last 6 months means the game is DOA and wont be fixed.

You have to hold EA to account by never pre-ordering again.

Call of duty game should be like $15

    • +1

With all the MTX they should be F2P

      • Yeah 100% agree. I buy black Ops titles mostly for zombies. But I wouldn't pay for this stuff

  • I was playing this on PC and have since purchased a Mac, tempted to pick up to see if cross play progression works so I can continue..

  • Vanguard $44.99 on Amazon..

    • Not sure why you got negged for accurately reporting the price of Vanguard on Amazon. Keyboard warriors at it again. Also the X-series version is $48 at Amazon.

    • It's also free to play this week.

  • I'm back!

    • who are you?

        I'm batman.

      • I was allegedly kicked out off OZB for not buying the Far Cry 6 for $28 during the last deal ;)

I'm going to wait for BF 2042 to be on game pass. Surely it can't be long now…

  • +1

Steam Average players for the last 30 days for BF2042 is 1987.

With Battlefield V at 11333 and Battlefield 1 at 4494 for the last 30 days respectively.

Battlefield 2042 is dead. Wait for it to be on Gamepass. Or just avoid it. Serves EA right. Heres hoping they learn from it, but past examples doesn't give me much confidence.

    MODERN GAMING!!!!
