Just checked. The discount does apply to promo fares.
But the 10% discount is only off the fare component of the all in price. The airport taxes and fees component is not discounted and neither are ancillaries such as baggage and meals.

Original Price:
Fare: $142
Airport Taxes and Fees: $137
All in Fare = $279
After Discount:
Fare: $142 less 10% discount = $127.80
Airport Taxes and Fees: $137
All-in price: $264.80
Okay, thanks. I "think" I checked Perth to KL on 30 Sept and it applied to the reg fare but not the promo. But I could be wrong.

other downside to AirAsia deal is that by not using credit card means forfeiting the complimentary travel insurance.
The 10% Air Asia looks to be off the Regular All In Fare. It looks like if there is a cheaper promo fare, you do not get an extra 10% off.
