  • good pfesense/opnsense box

  • thunderbolt 3?

    • sounds good

  • Could this work as a NAS if paired with a HDD docking bay? A bit more cumbersome and space hungry, but curious if a set up like that could work alright.

    • Get a SFF then you can put a PCIe card in it and connect to an external enclosure over SAS.

Still probably not worth it over a tower.

    • Yes, for sure. I did this for a year with a WD Elements 12TB drive before moving it into to a HPE Microserver. NUCs are great little things.

    • Yep. Same here, running a nuc with 3 external drives.

I just bought a new version of this, called "essential" kit. comes with a 10nm 4 core celeron

I think it's better to get the newer. same price at pbtech

Lets say someone wanted to setup a pirate ship to sail the open water. They didn't want to man this said ship so they made sure said ship had Sonarr and Radarr installed. Would this make a good pirate ship?

      • prepared for this I was not

      • Aye

  • Is there a genuine power adapter for Intel NUCs? Or you just need to grab one that fits the specs? What's the point of selling NUCs without the power adapter?

    • NUC's come with a genuine Intel power-supply. Similar to a laptop.

  • Does this come with Windows installed?
