Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Ultra W OC 8G Video Card $967 Delivered @ BPC Tech

Seems like a better deal than the Gigabyte card yesterday. Seems like a groovy design as well.

Still not as cheap as ebay afterpay sales cards and prices continue to drop so only buy if you really need.

I wonder why others are not joining the race, its either them or techfast and probably 2 other shops.

      • All of these shops are only dropping prices because their supplier recent did (probably Leader Systems or Dicker Data)

"groovy design as well." I think its ugly, looks like a pair of Kmart kids shoes.

  • Do you think I can buy this and sell my EVGA 3070 (non-LHR) better price than this? Since I just use it for gaming, and not for mining.

    • It should be sold even before March. The GPU price is dropping so the earlier the better.

    • +1

Considering that they're mining neck to neck, no. The lhr 78% unlock has put that era of scalping non LHR to rest.

    • -3

its non-LHR, its special like me.

      • +1

You're not allowed to use "special" to describe your conditions any more. It's "alternative ability" or something like that.

  • Does anybody know if realistically I could get away with using a Corsair CX550M PSU for a card like this? The answers online are iffy, but I just bought the power supply a few months ago and don't really want to replace that so soon, so am debating whether going for a super fancy card like this or a 3060/Ti which is what I was considering anyway at these prices earlier.

My cpu is a i5 4690 which is less power efficient than more modern chips too, and would probably bottleneck this card hard anyway, but could be upgraded later since it's still performing alright.

    • +1

I used 450w SFX PSU with a undervolt 3700x and 3070 with no issues, max power draw was 375w.

      • Why does NVIDIA recommend 650W if you can get away with 450W? Crazy difference

        • RGB. :D

        • +2

The quality of the PSU makes a big difference. You can get away with lower wattage with a high end PSU.
Also what other components you have in your system will affect the results.
So Nvidia just gives a generous estimate to be more noob friendly

        • +1

Nvidia assume u use over clocked i9 and AIO, HDD, wifi card and more, also 30 series power spikes sometimes

        • Low end 650W PSUs won't output the right amount of power on the 12V

      • Thanks, that definitely gives me more confidence.

    • +2

What resolution? For 1080p that is a huge bottleneck.

      • Yeah 1080p but I haven't been playing a lot of modern games. I do a lot of 3D rendering though which is more of a mix of CPU/GPU (I've never checked which is maxing out), and have been trying to integrate some AI tools into my work where my 1060 3GB keeps running out of GPU ram on a lot of simple tasks.

The main thing I'd like a new CPU for is funnily enough just being able to fly around more smoothly in Minecraft, since it struggles to load the world while flying due to all 4 CPU cores being maxed out…

      • Your post made me curious about how much my i5 4690 might have been bottlenecking my 1060. Ended up getting a 12400f and it's made my GPU like a whole new card. A 3060 would have definitely been a waste on the old CPU.

        • +1

That was Hella fast. I am also building a new system right now from an i7 4790 to probably a 5600x (as bargains come i pick up parts so it is a slow process lol)

Please add tags so it shows up correctly in the right categories.

    • I miss the "Desktop Computer" tag on the top menu under computing. I don't know why it was removed. We now have "Computer" and "Laptop" but no shortcut to find desktops

  • The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 comes to $2574 with code PTCH10

    • +1

I wouldn't buy a Gigabyte 3090 due to their thermal pads and power connector issue. Maybe they fixed it, but I still won't trust them.

  • +2

Paid $900 for a 3060 just 6 months ago :( I'm shattered. Reckon I should sell it for what I can now $600(?) and wait for these prices to drop further?

    • +3

Wouldn't get more than 500 ish for a 3060 now

      I'm with ya I sold a 6700xt for 330 less than I bought it

I'd just hold on to it at this point, prices are so low and used offers are stupid

    • Just sold Rev. 01 ones for only $650. The going price for Rev. 02 is $450 second hand

    • yes i suggest you sell for dogecoin

I'd be all over this if it was 12gb, 8gb days are numbered.

    • +1

Indeed. Those who own a 3000 series GPU with 8GB should definitely wait for a 12-16GB upgrade whatever series they get next. 8GB is really "old" tech as I realized with Far Cry 6.

      • +1

        whelp, I just purchased a 3060ti 8GB…2 days ago.

  • +2

$900 and then I'll consider to pull the trigger. Prices slowing down tho haven't seen anything at $930 which was AP levels of discount for gaming oc / vision quality card. Not sure how this measures up to those but vision was $990 last week with SE 10% off

  • If it has a 3080 white version, it would be great.

  • For anyone whos interested, these cards run much hotter and much louder than other cards. Shouldnt be a huge surprise to be honest.

    • Evidence?

      • There are a few reviews around of benchmarks. They should be easy to find. Thats not to say the card isnt good. To be fair if you compare every card to the MSI Gaming series, they're all louder and hotter than it. I only buy that card line myself.
