  • Constrained gas supply = less gas for industry.

Unless of course Longford blows up again.

I think you mean less gas for Australians. Exports remain preferred.
Aussies continually pay more for our own gas than export, even though export has to be liquified and shipped.

  • oh forgot about it, need to visit my local ikea tomorrow.

  • Is the cheaper one just as good for the average person? If you have either one I'd love to hear your thoughts.

    • +1

I have the one plate one. Bit of a pain when you need to cook multiple things at once. But if you just need one pan, one pot it is great.

Whoops I have a plug in the wall one. Not a big counter replacement like these.

  • Will you need to get an electrician to install a 15amp plug as well?

    • +5

These beasts have max rating of over 7kw so 15a plug won't cut, need to be hard wired on a dedicated circuit.

    • +1

They normally use a 4mm^2 (or 6) dedicated circuit, and hard-wired, no plug.

But if you already have a standard 20A in place from an older cooktop, it is possible to limit the power on these, so as not to trip the breaker.

    • +1

Off memory they take 2x16 or 1x32.

      • in the description says the same

  • The Tempe store in NSW also had heaps in stock, if anyone in NSW stumbles across this. An employee told me that they're replacing the range of cooktops towards the end of July (may not be true though). Which does seem possible, as the UK has a different range.

  • Haiyaaaa…

  • Logan has about 10 each model. Just picked up the cheaper one.
