Crazy deal IMO, if you happen to have an education email. I bought one last black friday for a lot more than this but was quite happy with the TV.

My experience with Samsung was the worst of all the brand names in Australia. My Sony experience, though not up to Apple standard, was several times better than Samsung.
(Hijack) - Hey anyone with this having turn on problems?
My 65" randomly will turn on a black screen - no channels no HDMI or AV channels - normally needs a FULL reboot.
The Google page will open up and all its things - but not the "tuner" or associated channels.
The Mrs is peeved - anyone else????

But but but…its a x90j! - its 5 months old. but but but……..the Mrs finally after almost 10 years let me buy a newie……..but but but……hangs head in shame.
Few faulty units in that range but overall it's a great tv, call Sony and see if they can replace.

I’d assume so as it’s through original Sony store. It Isn’t an “edu” portal. I just bought via my Amex.

Not when the x90j is under $2k it isn't. The x95j is a better tv but it's not 50% better than the x90j.
I think unless you compare it side by side, most people may not feel the difference.

This review helped me. Seems the X90J is almost just as good. Just not as good for angles and glair but better for blacks.

The verification emails were being flagged as spam and came through as a seperate email which I had to then allow the email from Sony to come through. That might be causing the issue with some people not receiving it. I tried it 4 times and the spam email notification came through an hour later with all of my 4 attempts over a roughly hour period.

Has anyone tried with a NSW TAFE email address (edu.au) to sign up?
all edu.au emails should be ok. I tried my unisa.edu.au email and it worked ok
tried TAFE, no verification email and can't even login or reset password.

It has to be an *.edu.au email address, not a *.gov.au.

Pulled the trigger on the 55" X90j for $1249 - was holding out for TCL new Mini LED TV to drop - hopefully something better than the C825. Thought I could always resell this for purchase price.

If you missed this, I tried to price match at JB as I have a gift card, they offered the 65" at $1800 so you may be able to haggle it with the right rep.

Seems like a few who ordered the OLEDmodels are getting theirs shipped. May be Sony is concentrating on clearing the OLED order's first before coming to lower models.

It should mean it was cancelled. It happened to me and I ordered Monday night. there was a pending in my bank account and then it was returned. checked sony account and there was no record of the order.
Reordered right after it happened, the 2nd order shows up and is still processing.
edit: just checked email and it says its on the way now lol.

A Sydney to Adelaide overnight delivery would be impressive even in normal times, but with the current Courier delays I just feel like it's completely unrealistic!

I'd be careful of ordering from the Education Store. If they're anything like Samsung's Education Store (and product reviews make me think it is). You'll wait months and months for a TV that never shows up.
