Gigabyte M32U 31.5" 144Hz 4k IPS HDMI2.1 KVM Gaming Monitor $949 + Del ($0 to Metro/ VIC C&C/ in-Store) + Surcharge @ Centre Com

110

Lowest price I've seen for this excellent 32" 4k 144hz Monitor, has HDMI 2.1 (though capped at 24gbps) for your console needs.

KVM is fantastic feature as well for people who WFH.

I purchased one a month ago for $1,049 - pairs very well with my 3080. 2% surcharge applies for AmEx payment.

    Hi All,

Surcharge now only applies to AMEX, we've removed surcharge for PayPal, CC etc. Permanently

    • Any monitors like this but smaller (24-27")?

      • There is a 28" version of this - the M28U - that appears to be available for about $800 at a few stores. Also 4K/144

        • Awesome thank you!

  • Excellent monitor, quite happy with it myself.
Atm can be had for bit less via Scorptec on eBay with SNSAVEA code.

  • HDMI 2.1 limit to 24gbits is that an issue?

  • Not if GPU supports compression…which all new cards do. Consoles on other side I'm not 100% sure.

    • I heard PCs with modern GPU including the Xbox series X do but not the PS5.

Now for this price, it's an interesting debate whether you get the Dell G3223Q or pay 100$ more for this? We still don't have a proper review for Dell one yet (besides those Japanese/Chinese one on Youtube), but I'm hesitating between these two

Apart from color profile etc that require special equipment, what would you like to know? I received mine yesterday. Paid tad over $800 on eBay. I think the dell coupon is still active. Dell also comes with 3 year, zero dead pixel warranty.

      Cheers.

Is it still 24Gbps bandwidth for hdmi 2.1 like the M32U? Also which overdrive setting you enjoy most, and compare to any typical 144Hz IPS gaming monitor you know (ghosting, latency…..) is it good for the price?
I know the Dell coupon still available now, that's why I wait till the very last minute before deciding to jump in or not. Currently I'm using Gigabyte M28Q and happy with it, but I want to give 4k a try.

Yeah, still 24Gbps for the hdmi ports. I've settled on the Super fast, which is the middle point of the 3.
Here is a not very scientific comparison on the ufo test. Fast - Super Fast - Extreme.

Even the Extreme is mild compared to my old 100hz Asus monitor, which produced a large leading edge blob on high OD haha.

          Cheers.

          • @billy77: So in general, I think you happy with the purchase right? I guess I will jump into the Dell gang soon tonight before the coupon expired hehe. I have M28Q already so don't need another KVM screen (if not then I could have choose the M32U), besides that none of the M32U features justify the 100$ difference for me.

          • @billy77: Did you buy through Dell ebay? How long did it take to arrive? Mines saying 15 May ETA!

            • @feelickstongue: Yep, through Dell eBay. Bought on the 23rd. The original delivery date was May 9th but it arrived yesterday. I think the release date was the 30th for this monitor.

This, or the Aorus FI32U for office use?

    https://www.centrecom.com.au/gigabyte-aorus-fi32u-gaming-32-…

Thinking of grabbing two for a dual setup.

    Any suggestions on mounting arm/s?

  • Use DisplayPort to get 144Hz. SDR is amazing, HDR is ok. I use this with Macbook M1 Pro.

My monitor came with old firmware and sometime the monitor just reset. After update the firmware the issue was fixed.

    • Can you use the usb c with power delivery 1 cable option for this? (although 15w charging), but does it work!? mine is plugged in all the time so I don't mind it being slow!

      • No I haven’t try this option. On the specs its 18W via PD. Few people having issue with USB-C cable on M1 so I don’t want to try it.

I use USB-C to DisplayPort cable.

        • Hey mate, I have the m1 MacBook Pro too and considering the same monitor. Which cable are you using for 144hz? I can only see 4k 60hz. Are you outputting in 4K from Mac?

          • @FreshPrinceofKP: I use USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable. Yes, you can output 4K 144Hz from M1 Macbook. The same cable can output 4K 120Hz from my Macbook Pro 15" 2018.

          • @FreshPrinceofKP: But if I buy the 4K 144Hz monitor right now, I will get Dell G3223Q. This monitor didn't exist when I buy the M32U last year. The price is similar, and the HDR on Dell is better + the colour space on the Dell monitor is better.

            • @sanglt: thanks for the tip, it was one of those late night googling I was doing last night/ this morning.. decided I will wait until June but will keep the Dell in mind.

Have an ultrawide at the moment (Samsung LS34E790CNS/XY), about 5-6 years, just a bit over it 60hz, brightness/ colour not the best now. So would rather a 32 with my laptop, and perhaps get a console later on / do the xbox game pass with it.. would be overkill but looking at the Macbook and my monitor now the difference is big.
