    MIL cameras

    What about FIL cameras?

Mirrorless interchangeable lens for those wondering.

    • I would not use a mother-in-law camera.

  • That's a really good price. You're looking at $90 give or take for a decent quality 512Gb:

EDIT: Doh… just realised I mistook this for the faster Extreme cards. Still a decent price for something in between the 256Gb and 512Gbs. Edited my original comment accordingly.

  • Instant, portable storage boost for a laptop.

  • I purchased one of these a couple years back on prime day sales for my modded Nintendo switch. Very good price, I think I paid around a similar price. This has been a very reliable Sd card, never had any issues with a SanDisk product.

    • Hey, I have a molded wii and wiiu, how's the switch mod go??? Worth it?

    • Is it not compatible with a non-modded switch?

      • +1

        It's compatible with a non-modded switch, sorry, i should've mentioned that.

  • Has anyone had luck with an Officeworks price match for something like this?

    • Can't see this in stock at Officeworks, so no deal.

      • Yeah. First thing i checked. Shame no stock.

  • Does this work with dashcams? Any good for dashcams?

    • +2

It may work with a dashcam but i would not advise using these for one. Better off getting the endurance ones.

    • The Raspberry Pi stresses sd cards in a similar manner to dashcams.

This benchmark is probably the best I've seen:

      • I have done away with microsd cards with my pi4 and i now boot straight off usb drive for this reason.

  • Thanks 👍

  • Slooooow speed.

Better off to get a card that is class V30 or U3 much faster read/write speed. These days it's not that much more.

I got a Sandisk 256gb V30 / U3 card for $45.60 pricematched with Amazon. Much faster on my phone and also 4K compatible.

    • Does the speed matter when using in a switch?

      • +2

Not really sure but probably better to pay a little extra for future proofing.

If this card can provide a genuine 100MB/s read speed, then no, it won't make any difference.

But I have found cheap Sandisk/Samsung cards that claim 100MB/s read speeds is never anywhere near that in the real world.

  • I have this for my switch OLED its really good.

  • wouldn't use this for a DSLR though its not fast enough.

    • +1

Exactly. If all you need it for is storing media on say a tablet like tv shows, movies and music. This is fine.

  • I have a old Sony video camera that works with a 128Gb card, Is there any way to tell if this will work?

    • Whats the model number of your video camera.

Got an old point and shoot camera thats so old it cant read anything bigger than 32GB cards.

  • Ok so this is a good deal! But, Who can recommend a Micro SD for using in a DJI AIR 2S Drone recording at 5.4k for a decent price. Looking at 256GB or above. Cheers :)

  • This drive is bloody slow! It also gets toasty during testing..

Warning: Only 375558 of 375560 MByte tested.
