I bought LiFeFo4 120ah Lithium deep cycle battery yesterday for $339.00 - with Ebay code: Pmar15
    Link: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/275040708240

Not sure if this one has better quality as the price different is big

I was looking at the one in Aldi catalog coming out on Saturday which seems like a safer buy:
    https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-2-a…

Also the casing and label looks concerning…
Looks like OP just chucked it into a tin box, put a few phillips head screws through it, slapped a sticker on, took a 10x10pixel photo and chucked it up as "Made in Australia".
I don't know how these batteries are put together, but can it even be classified as Made in Australia as the cells and BMS are from China?!

      Hello!
Our cases are of Stainless Steel 304 boxes and all or our cells are insulated by Epoxy glass resin and protected by foam. It is assembled in our shop here in australia Unit 4 17 moss st slacks creek QLD, Id be happy to show you how we build our batteries!

      • All good. I'm not fussed as I was just curious if you can actually claim "Made in Australia" when all the compenents are imported.

Just had a quick google search and found this:
        https://www.accc.gov.au/system/files/Country%20of%20origin%2…

I think your case is similar to pg13 - the 'necklace' example.
I don't know what goes into making the battery as I'm sure it's more than just dropping cells into a box but it might be something you would like to clarify with ACCC if you haven't already!

Yeah me too. 3 yr warranty at ALDI. I wonder how they would deal witha a return after 2 yr and 11 months because it was not longer holding stated capacity?

In saying that, the $339 deal posted by MauTauAja looks like a reasonable shout.

    • Let me know how you go when March 2025 comes around!! XD
I would think it's limited warranty though. Will need to see when it comes around as there seems to be some delays…

      • You can get it from outbax… little more expensive though:
        https://outbax.com.au/voltx-12v-100ah-lithium-ion-battery-li…

Is there a battery box for this? I was thinking to get Companion Rover 44ah

The picture and the weights are different. The Aldi one is 1kg heavier. Just because newer model do you think?

          • @Flyerone: Do your maths as the Voltax only can max out at 50Amp discharge, which is fine for most 12V uses

such as big 12V fridge + more simultaniusly, but if running a 12V-240V inverter will max out at around

500W-600W Max. For low to medium discharge use this seems like a decent battery with good 3 yr warranty,

but a big part of the money in the better more expensive batteries is in the higher rated BMS/Charge/Discarge

            capacity.

            • @ozhunter68: Voltax was 50amp, but when they rebranded as Voltx it went up to 100amp. I have 2x100amp Voltx in the car that I bought last year which can handle over 2000w from the inverter while simultaneously powering the fridge and charging devices. I also have a few cheapish Solar King lithium batteries (100amp BMS) in the van which have been constantly charged/discharged the past couple of years with no noticeable loss in capacity/performance.

              • @jamesorion: Sounds great. But look at the specs of the battery for the Max Continues Discharge Current for this battery,

the same Voltx battery listed by OP and it is only 50Amp. If you wire two up together you may get double,

depening on how you do it, ie series or parallel.

@ozhunter68: Oh, my bad. I didn't realise they had went back to 50a with the 2022 battery. I just checked my emails. I paid $784.82 to Amazon after discount codes for those 2x100ah VoltX with 100amp charge/discharge, so the one listed by OP isn't a good deal at all.

                  • @jamesorion: All good. It's still a decent deal today as the type of specials you got come and go.

Many people would not care, but if you assume any 100A battery will max out a big 240V inverter you could

be in for a surprise. I purchased a 100A battery online direct but they also had a ebay store at the time one of the most

highly rated brands on there at the time, and reviews showed it only had around 78A so contacted the support and

replaced with their 125A models. It has 100A charge/discharge rating, but I have learnt to only use 12V USB C PD

If you want/need a new battery the Rock Gold type B on ebay is decent when on discount.

and the battery 12 months on has not missed a beat on 24/7 lol.

  • "90% rated capacity"
Should be 95%+ if they're quality cells.

    "Warranty: 3 years(Lifetime Free service)"
    What does this mean?

      Hello MEnergy
      Sorry for the misunderstanding
The Maximum DoD is 90% which is a setting set by the BMS, cut off voltage is 10V.
To protect the life of the cells.
The cells we use are Grade A Ganfeng Lithium cells. Striaght from the supplier.
The warranty is 3 years but included with our batteries is Lifetime Free Service meaning even after warranty we will check the battery for you and do repairs if need be (Just need to pay for repairs if it is after the warranty period)
Hope this clears up some misunderstanding!!

      • Sorry but 14.6V to 10V is considered 100% DoD.

        • With our LiFePO4 batteries when discharged 90AH of capacity,
It goes to 10v which is when the BMS will cut off.
It is why we advertise as maximum DoD is 90%.

  • Any deal on the 50AH ?

  • Hi OP

I was browsing your website where are Neuton power car batteries made in?

Compared this to a Century Ultra High Performance which one is better looking to replace my OEM Toyota Car battery 7 years so far.

    • +1

For Neuton some of them are made in South Korea others in China.
Actually, Century and Neuton power have similar quality, but Century is Made in Australia, and the price is higher. It's more like a personal preferance, not much difference.
