Barely any stock and one that do don't seem to deliver sadly :(

  • +2

That seems like a REALLY good price for the G1 77". Unfortunately it looks like they're mass selling these off as there is no stock. Anywhere near me.

    • +1

      Call JB to match?

      • JB out of stock 200km near me so nah. They gone in VIC. Available in NSW it seems.

      • I got JB to price match. In NSW.

      • I managed to get JB to price match with no issues.

    • New models are almost out so clearing old stock

  • No stock within 500k of Melbourne and won't deliver. I don't think this qualifies as a deal unless geography is specified

  • How does this compare to the C1?

    • I think it's better overal from memory l - sorry I don't have detail but commenting as I'm equally interested in other's response

    • You would get this one if you were dead set on wall mounting as has slimmer backing. Slightly brighter capability.

      Rtings C1 vs G1

      https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-c1-oled-vs-lg-g1-…

      Summary:
The LG C1 OLED and the LG G1 OLED are both excellent OLEDs. They have similar features and picture quality, except the G1 uses LG's new evo panel. It allows it to get brighter in HDR, making small highlights pop. The G1 also has a unique design meant to sit flush against the wall, and it doesn't come with a stand like the C1. The G1 has better accuracy, but this can vary between units. However, overall the TVs are very similar, and if you aren't going to wall-mount it, the C1 is likely the better choice for you.

      • +1

Note that in AU the G1 does come with a stand in a separate box, as below comment says make sure you get it!

        • Thanks for mentioning! That was going to be my next thought.

Are you saying that the stand is included with the purchase of the TV, and that you just need to make sure that the separate box for the stand is also provided at the same time?

Or do you mean that the stand is available for separate purchase?

          • +1

@wormarts: provided free but in a separate package, though some people have had issues with it not being provided and needing to follow up with the retailer.

            • +1

@Alzori: Thanks mate. Can confirm I got my stand included with delivery of my tv. It came in a separate box.

    • +4

We have the G1. My opinion: definitely worth it if you are wall mounting, otherwise the C1 is better value.

The G1 integrated wall mount is great, better than any 3rd party mount, and it sits very nicely on the wall. The picture quality is for sure better than the C1, however I'm not sure if it's $1000 better. The main difference is the increased peak brightness which does pop nicely. I have no way to evaluate the improved colour accuracy as our set isn't calibrated but I'd say if colour accuracy is your main concern and you have the budget you'd probably be looking at the Sony A90J.

In Australia the G1 does come with feet, but they are pretty flimsy and (again IMO) the stand included with C1 is actually better.

      • +3

For me it was a no brainer to go with the G1 because of the increase in peak brightness due to the location of the TV and windows (one of which doesnt have blinds/curtains so watching TV during the day can become challenging if the screen isnt bright enough).

        • Yes that's a consideration I didn't think of. The screen is REALLY bright for an OLED, if you are using it in full daylight definitely worth it.

  • Excellent price.

Gallery OLED, is that meant to be like the Samsung Frame ?

  • Why TGG only deliver to address with store around?

    • Where TGG get TV from?

      • Where TGG get TV from?

They only deliver from store to nearly suburbs not from warehouse somewhere?

        • I think that's the case. The local store called me when I ordered mine and told me when they would deliver etc.

    • JB price matched for me at $5,400. $59 for delivery. NSW.

  • We have the 77" G1 which I paid more than this for, its a stunning TV.

  • +1

Upon delivery of the TV make sure you get the TV stand. I had so much trouble getting the TV stand, it comes in a different box.

    • Wall mount is better ?

    • +1

Is that a separate purchase? Or do you mean that the stand is provided with the TV, but in a separate box… And so it’s important not to forget to also pick up separate box?

      • -4

It doesn’t come with a stand, it’s intended to be wall mounted.

You can order the feet separately, but they’re around $200. In that case you might be better off going for the C1.

        • +3

Not sure your comment relates to the 77Inch but my 65inch G1 comes with a TV stand and dont need to pay extra

        • +2

The 77" certainly comes with a stand in Australia, i bought one and it came with it.

          • @F-22: Such a relief for me! Haha. I’m renting and so wall-mounting just isn’t an option.

Did the stand come in the same box? Am asking because JB is delivering and I’m paranoid that if it’s in a separate box, they might not remember to include that in the truck. Perhaps I’m overthinking!

            • +1

@wormarts: It was last year so memory is a bit vague but i believe it was separate. I had two 77" delivered and they remembered both times so i think it might be a rare case for them to forget.

        • My 65” G1 delivered from TGG earlier this week didn’t come with a stand, only the wall mount. Not a big deal since I was always intending to wall mount it, but now I’m wondering if I only got a partial delivery.

What does the stand look like? Is it the two L-shaped feet that attach near the bottom on each side, or a VESA mount?

          • +1

@bluelink279: My stand came in a separate box with the TV - it's the L-shaped feet on each side.

        • Thanks all. Just confirming I did get a stand included with my TV. No separate purchase required.

And it came in a separate box.

          • @wormarts: I definitely didn’t get a stand included. :( Have sent a query to TGG to ask why.

            • @bluelink279: Why do you need it if you wall mounted it? Mine went in the bin which was a waste.

Meh price for 65, the 77 is an excellent discount tho.

  • +1

65 inch was like around $3300 at one stage from JB Hifi before.

    i was offered 65" g1 $3200 3 week ago TGG

    • That was a smacktacular deal, did you buy?

  • $3,750 at Appliance Central with free delivery to most metro areas. Good Guys Chadstone were able to do it for $3,755 last weekend, with next day delivery.

  • 77" G1 out of stock in Tassie stores. Might have picked one up otherwise! :-(

  • Honestly thought this day would never come. Snatched one right away from local TGG and to be delivered tomorrow. Thanks OP

  • Retra has the 65" for 3999 not sure about delivery

    Great price for a G1 77!

  • I bought the 77inch C1 from TGG when they were on special recently for 4.73k delivered which I'll be wall mounting. I haven't taken delivery yet so is this worth the extra 670 odd?

    • +2

If you value the $670 for 1) the evo panel ie better peak brightness and 2) flush wall mounting.

    • "The LG C1 OLED and the LG G1 OLED are both excellent OLEDs. "

Up to you whether slightly better brightness and flush against the wall is worth it. You got the C1 for a good price, I say keep it and spend the money on getting it calibrated.

    • Hard to say, and I am very happy with my C1, but if I had that choice - I'd pay the extra and get the G1.

      • Why?

        • I like to have the best of the best. :p

  • Good price for the 77", otherwise the 65" G1 I managed to pounce on at $3395.75 from TGG in October last year: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/656871.

  • Do you need to buy the wall mounting hardware separately or does it come included with this model?

    • +1

The TV comes with the wall mounting bracket

  • +2

Thanks so much for posting this! I bought this tv 10 days ago for $6300 from JB hifi and literally just mounted it today. I thought I'd just give it a go contacting them to see if they'd be able to refund the $905 difference for this deal, and I was very happily surprised that they did! Stoked with this price!

  • Got the 83in C1 2 weeks ago for $6k from HN

    • Nice, was it a matter of negotiating or did they have a deal?

      • Yeah negotiation, it's who you get that counts.

        • Thanks, ended up getting the a90j 83" for $5999!

  • Late post! If anyone ended up buying this deal how did you go with the recessed box behind the tv wall mount? Did you happen to take any pictures? Seems to be very limited information/pictures online about it.

    • What's your question? It's very simple so I'd doubt any info would be out about it

      • I was curious about the flush mount on the wall. I already have a recessed box and wondering if it can still be used. None of the information i found online showed if it still sat flush after several hdmi cables being connected to the tv. Or should i just leave it to the professional installers and not over think it!

        • +1

Theres a slightly recessed channel down the middle of the TV rear where the HDMI cables are routed. The recessed box should be in the right position on the wall for the cables to exit the channel and into the recessed box. I had a stud in the ideal position, the recessed box is slightly out so there is a slight bump where the HDMI cable enters the recessed box.
