      • Ebay shows OOS, stock in-store tho….go figure.

Would have got it @ $19.99

        • +1

Worked fine for me. Bought at 19.99.

          • @FatBlanket: Bought for $19.99 delivered with eBay Plus. Thanks OP 😊

          • @FatBlanket: was OOS last night on ebay, picked it up for $20 this morning.

    • Thanks mate just bought this from eBay $19.99 clicked and collected in less than an hour. Bargain.

  • Big Sucker again. Very good product just as the name suggested. Sucking water madly.

  • +2

    Suck me dry!

  • -2

Who said it was ozbargains favourite towel?

  • +1

Is this really any different than the generic ones you can buy for significantly cheaper

    E.g.
    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-microfibre-cloth…

    • Yes. It really is.

    • Yes. It really is.

    • Yes. It really is.

    • +2

      Yep - huge difference.

If you use the generic ones, you'll probably spend 15 minutes wiping down the car after a wash (e.g., wipe 1/2 of the bonnet, wring the towel, wipe the other 1/2, wring, and repeat on other panels 10-15 times) and it'll still leave streaks.

I haven't used this brand specifically, but I've used the Meguiar's equivalent - you can wipe the car down with 1 pass without having to wring the towel.
So you'll probably spend less than a minute vs 15 minutes with the general microfibres.

      • +1

I used mine for the first time the other day, 1 pass on my prado without ringing out

      • +5

And I used this to dry my car the other day, no streaks and only 1 pass to dry the whole car

        https://www.kmart.com.au/product/detailing-towel-41877180/

        • I swear I have seen the exact one on amazon.com.au for 3x that price, talk about scalpers or what

        • this one looks promising, could be a good alternate

        • I call bs I have this product and it's not what you claim

      • Having used both, the Megs version is nowhere near as good as the Green Sucker

    • Very different. This is worth every cent. Trust me

  • +4

How does this compare to the kmart one?

  • Living in the dusty outback I could wash my car every day and still wouldn’t win the fight. Doesn’t matter if you have the product or anything else.

  • This dries your whole car in 14 seconds. Other products only make your car even wetter than before.

  • Issue with this towel is the green fluff it tends to leave all over your car

    • never seen that, maybe its worn out

    • +2

Hey mate, had the same issue but read through comments on previous posts and people mentioned you had to wash them once before use and then they should be fine

      • yup, instructions say to wash before first use

      • Yes I washed it before use. Still leaves green fluff everywhere for me.

        • Mine did after the first wash too, but I only hung it up to dry. So I washed it again but this time I put it in the dryer at air temperature (so no heat) and that got rid of the fluff.

          • +1

@hambeet: Ah thanks, I don't have a dryer. And someone else is reporting the same issue as me. So maybe there's a caveat to buying these towels. :)

  • Can this towel be used on humans?

    • Probably, but watch out for skidmarks

  • +1

Used the Big Green Sucker for years but now have upgraded to the Chemical Guys Woolly Mammoth Dryer Towel.

The Mammoth is bigger but costs more (haven't seen it on special yet) but after comparing them over several weeks of drying IMO the Mammoth is a better drying and water holding product.

    • Been on special at SCA a few times recently. I've got one of the TCG wooly mammoth as well.
      It's huge. It's also great.

  • Hate when people stuck in the 90s think that chamois is the best…

    • +1

The 90's, I have a Japanese made Kanebo plas chamois that I brought in 1974. It is still useable today after being flogged for 38 years, Ok it is a little worse for wear but that thing is the Ozbargain value item of the 70's. Does my windscreen/ mirrors/ front side windows most morning they are wet with dew which is very regular
I love the Big green sucker but that fake chamois will out live me as it has 16 vehicles so far

  • Awesome thx, I needed another one, so just ordered 2.

  • Mine has stopped absorbing as well as when it was new. Gonna put it through the wash and see if it get's better. Might try The Mammoth that's mentioned above.

    • +1

I read the review that you can use this to wash it to restore its glorious time.

  • +4

This is exactly the same as the Meguirs product but in purple. Have both and can recommend both - so suggest go for the one that is cheapest (unless you prefer the colour green of course).

A few dollars cheaper ($21.49) and free delivery for those with Amazon Prime:

  • Thoughts on using a drying microfibre like this one vs a chamois (synthetic or otherwise)?

I already have a chamois that I am happy with, but interested to hear the differences and if it's worth something like this.

  • I have a similar drying cloth, but have moved to "multiple towels", to make sure it is clean and dry each time.

I tried the large Aldi pack 10 or 20 pk 30cm x 30cm about $8. I use it to dry the car. once soak or dirtry, use another one. for a Kia Carnival, I use up 3-4 towels. Maybe an extra 1 for the interior, Then everything goes to the washing machine afterwards :) If the Aldi does not work, was planning to get the Costco Yellow Microfibre as they are fluffy.

    • Costco yellow works quite well with the same technique (using multiple).

    • +1

I moved to an air blower and blow dry the cars, the less cloths you drag over them the better.

      • Blow drying cars isn't for everyone. I had a twin motor blower and sold it. Was too loud for my liking.

    • Yep, multiple cheap towels is better than 1x expensive towel. Better workflow, better result

  • +1

Maybe I've got a defective one or something, mine's leaves green fluff all over my car.

    • Did you wash it before using it?
