Quality looks good, though close ups seems mediocre.

    • For $75.20 from Officeworks, what do you want? It's not THAT long ago a 3.2 mp camera of any sort wouldn't get you much change from a grand. Thanks for the link. It does a pretty impressive job really.

    • did you change the setting in youtube to 720HD??

    Does it do video? classic!!

  • Isn't Kodak going bankrupt? Will there actually be any warranty now?

Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) — Eastman Kodak Co., the photography pioneer that filed for bankruptcy last month, said it will phase out the unit that makes digital cameras, pocket video cameras and digital picture frames.

Kodak will seek to license its brand to other makers of the devices as it exits cameras in the first half of 2012, the Rochester, New York-based company said today in a statement. It will book a $30 million charge and estimates saving $100 million annually, while pledging to honor warranties and provide technical support.

    • A better question is whether you will be able to get a replacement "Internal lithium-ion battery" in 3-5 years. Most lithium-ion batteries have decayed by the 3-5 year point, and won't give useful run time.

      • Yes, but in 3-5 years time you'll be eyeing that new video camera and waiting for a bargain on it…

What's the point - most still cameras can do 1080p now. Better to buy a slightly more expensive still camera rather than having to carry around 2 separate things.

    • It's also a 5 MP photo camera.

    • I agree with you, but the cheapest compact cameras that do 1080 video recording are a lot more expensive - I could only find them at $300 and higher.

And apparently most of those cameras won't make video clips longer than 10 minutes. The theories are that this is either to avoid patent fees for video cameras, or to avoid eating into that manufacturer's market for video cameras.

  • The sad part is that the RRP in the US is $59 and lots of shops there sell it for $49. Once again we get ripped of here in Aus
