Just saw stokke's prices… :O :O
Yeah save you money and stand firm if the wife insists.
Ooo… I think you have lost the battle if wife's already insisting. Got to do something before that.. :)
I have had a Valco Snap 4 tailormade (waterproof fabric) since bubs is a newborne. 7.5kg fully inclusive, one hand fold, non-puncture tyres. $445. I love it buy eyeing off a yoyo (6.5kg) that everyone else seems to have but probs not cause we do ALOT of strolling in parks/pavements etc…I recommend Valco as an ultralight pram.
@Faithgrrl: sounds good.. but bit expensive
@superm86: Gumtree is your friend. Lots of nice finds there for half.
@Faithgrrl: Saw this ebay as well. I am after lightweight as well. It says newborn plus in specifications, do you know the baby years coverage?
@Mighty man: I had mine in the valco since he was a newborn, no bassinet. He just needs a pram liner. I know the yoyo has a bassine. Apparently it goes up to like 22kg but he better be walking!
@Faithgrrl: Yeah, Valco seems to offer good quality prams at a reasonable price point. It's quite crazy how much prams can cost! We have a Valco Snap Ultra and have found it's worked well. It's relatively light weight, can steer with one hand (so important!) and is relatively easy to fold up. I also bought the bassinet attachment as well for the newborn months.
A friend strongly recommended the Baby Zen Yoyo, but I don't think the price is worth it and with the pandemic, what travelling? :)
I bought this particular stroller about a year ago from BIGW for $299 and we are still using it and have no problem. Very bulky unit and it consume full boot space. Our baby didn't fit properly until the baby was like 1 year old.
Thanks for your feedback. What do you mean baby didn't fit until one year old. Even in the bassinet mode?
Sorry didn't explain very well, actually, when I say baby didn't fit I meant even after fastening the seat belt, the baby slips to one side at the end of the journey so we always have to move the baby to the centre. I have seen the modern strollers have that special padding that holds the baby in the centre.
I have had this for 4 weeks now and dont have any complaints - it is bulky but weightless. I agree with Gepees - baby slips to one side.
Need some deal on double sided tape :D
also.. did the new pram smell went away quickly?
oh yeah - Not really, still smells new!
I had one of these. Great for the price. It's good cause you can separate it into two pieces to fit in the boot. I had it in my small Suzuki Swift.
Thanks. I have a Mother's Choice baby seat and have no complaints. I'm looking for a new stroller and cursing the Stokke one that we paid way too much for. It's big heavy and clunky. It has entirely unnecessary inflatable tyres which Stokke sell replacements for 50 bucks.
