Not sure if its everywhere, but DoorDash seems to be expensive compared to Deliveroo when it comes to individual food price as well as delivery
The aim of these GCs is to wait until DD has a promo code so you end up with around 50% off listed price. Combined with pickup for no delivery+service fees it makes it cheaper than buying direct. Also, DD has a lot more restaurants in my area than Deliveroo.
Ok..that makes sense..however I am lazy ass and usually go for delivery rather than pick up (you could also blame parking space for that) :P
I've found DD delivery really unreliable for me if it's more than a 5min drive. Either the restaurant cancels (even for a $50+ order) or the food doesn't get delivered for 1hr+.
True .. by jumping up the price as compared to restaurant and adding service fee + delivery forces us to wait for some coupon deal to use these …
I think the MADNESS code for 20% off still works for the rest of this month so that helps though I think you can only use it a few times.
I've got the 3 month afterpay dashpass but charges 10% fee instead of 5%. Live chat are clueless.
I noticed that the service fee depends on the place. My favourite Korean restaurant only has a 2% fee but majority is 10%
same im so sad, i used to get flat 5 everywhere
Yeah my sister got that too, with normal Dashpass that I paid for it's still 5%.
Thanks op. Good experience with DD recently. Definitely going for $250 Actually might go with multiples of $25 and $50
Work if we buy the gc using the cashback dollars?
Yep :)
Doordash is still experiencing the 'Please use another payment method to checkout' error when using browser. It's been like that for weeks.
The extra handling fee is a -tive to this service (doordash) platform. 🙄
I thought this would happen and mentioned in the previous 18% off that if it was popular, they will stop providing the 20% off deals and go down to 18 and probably try going further down and see if thats popular as well…
Perfect to stack with the red rooster $10 promo
good one but I don't use doordash:(
My experience has been pretty good, and they seem to have a wide range of sellers, that I like, that aren't on the other platforms.
The orders from last week paid with Door Dash gift cards have all tracked at $0. Losing a dollar per order…
My last $1 tracking was on 20/3.
I noticed this too with the previous 18% offer; checked cashback terms from the click through, turns out jt says in the “DON’Ts” that payments with door dash credit are not eligible for store cashback ($1).
Bit ambiguous as the landing page says “save more with Doordash credit” which doesn’t sound like it’s an either/or, but there you go!
Yeah must have been a recent change. Oh well, since they've reduced the annual fee even further, I'm not complaining.
Did you use the browser or the app?
Both
I’m guessing this probably just covers the dearer food rates through this delivery system (like most if them tbh), and the delivery charge.
So looks like it’ll be like old school Chinese delivery for me (like in the 90s) the food the same price as if you were dining in or take away and free delivery.
How long does the cashback take to approve with these gift cards? Is it months or a few hours/days? Thanks
When clicking to to Doordash to order food it now doesn't open it in an internal browser and tries to open the Doordash app but ends up opening google play so I'm sure it won't track. Shopback rep is this how its supposed to work?
Thanks OP, I am stuck in quarantine so I used a $50 gift card for Coles Local on Doordash and found many items I needed that surprisingly didn't have inflated prices! The dasher also picked up a larger quantity of a couple of items than what I ordered so it was a double win.
Love $250 option for lazy ass like me.
