LG A1 65" Self-Lit OLED 4K Smart TV (OLED65A1PTA) $2750 + Delivery (Free C&C) @ Videopro

90

Checking out some OLEDs & came across this…tending towards entry level & a 2021 model but the price / size / screen quality ratio is pretty darn good.

Well rated according to manufacturer's page and TGG and JB Hifi, where it's $750 more.

Reviews seem pretty favourable.

    I'd spend the extra $240 and get the C1 tbh

    Thank god self lit TV's are here. I was tired of manually liting up the pixels.

    • Was thinking the same thing, aren’t all OLED self lit, isn’t that one of the points of OLED?

  • Given you could get a c1 for around this recently and there still seems to be a fair bit of C1 stock overall, id personally wait for Easter sales then settling for this.

    • What's the difference between them?

        Apparently the A1 has better out of the box image set up and viewing angle. C1 better in everything else.

          While RTINGS is an excellent source if you don't drill into the details it can be deceptive looking at just the overall score.

          In general the main differences as i'd say:
          * No VRR
          * No HDMI 2.1 (one less hmdi port in general as well)
          * No 120Hz
          * Lower peak brightness

  • Has anyone seen the specs for the next Gen I seen someone say on here that's coming out soon?

    Just wondering will a A1 or C1 be worth buying at roughly $3k at the moment and a pretty decent tv to get the next 5 years at least out off , as for us personally it's quite alot of money at the moment .

  • Is it a bad idea to carry a 65" flat in the boot of a car?

    • +1

      If its in the box might be okay. Supporting the panel from flexing would be the main consideration i think.

    • How big is the car? I have a Passat sedan and barely fit an unboxed 55" plasma into the boot & onto the back seats (both fold down). It wasn't so much the width of the TV as the height that meant it was a close fit.

      • I didn't want to risk it, even for a 55". Got it delivered ^^

        • Smart move! What did you get?

            @Ham Dragon: Hisense A7G 55" for $755 with 5% off JB hifi
            Couldn't really justify additional $400 for U7G 65" when A7G seems alright for our needs.
