Pulled the trigger on this as I was looking for something to replace my wheel stand.

Handy for small spaces like apartments as it can fold up and be stored away in a closet.

Better price than previous deal @ $329.

I use to own a Ultimate cockpit from these guys and while it was fantastic in the strength of it the build quality was poor I found. Chipped chrome parts, strange marks all over the bucket seat, paint overall on it was poor, stickers where not straight and hanging off the parts it was stuck too. Crap stuck under the paint job. I could go on and on with this.

It was close to $1k unit too

Has their quality change since then?

    • I bought this a month ago in the last deal and thought it was rather good quality and relatively easy to put together. I have been able to mount a T-Flight HOTAS with the joystick on the centre stand, and the throttle on the left gear knob plate. I am quite pleased with the rig. I didn't need the supplied pedal support, I just use the rudder pedals on the floor, which works for me because of space constraints.

This is the one I had

And for the price of it, you would expect a better overall finish

          I have this https://nextlevelracing.com/products/next-level-racing-gttra…

Its been pretty solid, except for the handbrake/shifter mount. Running 8nm wheel, 34" monitor etc off it. I have drilled into it for speakers and tactile transducers etc, no problems.

          • @Oxxy: Kinda looks like a better finish to the one I had

I just had a look and their new design cockpits look a lot better finished these days

          • @Oxxy: I just have the first edition wheel stand and it's been solid but I agree that that the shifter, for me on the left side has too much wiggle for my liking.

I've been seriously looking at their new 80/20 aluminium profile setup which looks the bomb!

I bought the exact set with Thrustmaster T300 Alcantara wheelset used for $500. Yeah the built quality isn’t that great.

Really? Office chairs cost over $1,000+ these days alone

I've owned a couple of the same model and also know quite a few others that owned them, all say the same thing about the build quality being REALLY sub-par. In a lot of circumstances we've had to drill and re-engineer to get parts to fit and for the whole thing to actually be sturdy. I do not recommend Next Level to anyone anymore.

        Who do you recommend?

I think this falls under the category of "Video Games" so may well be able to get 5% cashback from Cashrewards too which would bring it down to $283.27! Not sure though and haven't bought myself so please don't blame me if it doesn't work.

    • That's the category it's listed under so it should work.

      • Hopefully it will still be available when my Australia Post gift card arrives.

        • Only 1 left in stock

Can confirm my Cashrewards tracked with $13.55 cashback pending.

Have this on my 5nm Fanatec DD wheel. Works great with minimum flex that certainly isn't noticeable when racing. See no reason to upgrade at this point. Highly recommended especially at this price.

Is there a weight and height limit for this? I'm 184 cm and a 102 kilos. Really want a racing rig and this price 8s tempting.

    • Good question, interested.

      • +1

Just checked, it says 120cm to 200 cm. Weight, up to 130kg.

      https://nextlevelracing.com/products/gt-lite/
      Supported Height – 120 – 200 cm or 4ft – 6ft 6 inches
Supported Max Weight – 130 kg or 287lbs

Pilot, you are cleared for takeoff!

  • I'm still trying to figure out how you get your legs into this without falling over.

  • Will this be suitable for a Flight Simulator cockpit? Looking to building my own flight simulator rig

    • AFAIK you can, but you'll need some optional parts bought separately to upgrade it a little bit.

These setups are great and portable Definitely much better than sitting at your desk. If you have pedals with a load cell you might need something more solid. For the Logitech g29/920/g923 this should be great fun.

  • Delivery kills the deal, where is it free?

    • It was, still showing up as free delivery on Google ad, must have been changed now.

      • It looks like its now $5 cheaper but sold by Amazon UK with shipping a killer.

    • Choose the Amazon AU not the UK from the seller list.
Only 1 left by the way.

  • edit: Now that free shipping is no longer offered it's still pretty decently priced at JB for $329 if anyones keen.
