    Expensive

    • I agree, should be at least a $399 price as a special deal.

I'm looking for a cheapish soundbar that does NOT, EVER automatically turn itself off or go into 'standby mode'. Most soundbars seem to do this after you turn the TV off; meaning that turning the TV back on again essentially requires the use of two remotes. Every time. So annoying.

Does anyone know of a cheap soundbar that has the option to over-ride all such shenanigans, and can just be left on/responsive the whole time?

My TV uses ARC to turn the soundbar on/off when I switch the TV on/off.
I also use the TV's volume control to control my soundbar volume.

      • What is 'ARC'?

        • If up connect it hdmi through the audio return channel it will most likely turn on and off when the TV is activated.
I haven't tried this but try disabling hdmi cec to see if it stops responding to your tvs power status

        • Connect your soundbar to your TV via the HDMI(ARC) input. Then change the settings on the TV to power on/off your soundbar automatically. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMB8979lPNA

  • Anyone actually rate this?

Yep. Insanely loud though, I very very rarely run it over level 1 😂 really good clear sound, solid but detailed bass, and yeah RGB aesthetics. Software is ok. In fairness, it's probably suited to a small home theatre more than a PC setup, just because of the potential volume. It's certainly not a purchase I regret though and it does look great too.

Thanks will keep it in mind, was waiting for Edifier s2000mkiii to hit $450 or less again but reviews suggest it’s not great for dialogue.

        • What reviews? They will be more detailed than most soundbars. They aren’t made for near field though

  • I can't speak for this product, but I did order a SoundBlaster GC7 from these guys on Monday night. It was delivered to regional NSW on Wednesday morning with standard shipping.

    So kudos for excellent service.
