At this price range I would just go for a regular laptop

    • Why is this not a "regular laptop"?

      • +4

        Regular laptop = Windows laptop

        • -8

          Better laptop = Linux laptop

    • I would think so.
And battery life for this seems terrible.

  • +5

    please be aware of:
    1) US Warranty
    2) surface & keyborad are "Fiesta Red"

      Good luck for Oriental folk

    • +5

The red looks bloody amazing in person.

Anyway to load windows into the system?

    • +13

You should definitely not do that and just buy a Windows laptop

    • Anyway to put a roof-rack and towbar on a 911?

    • Are you Rami Malek wearing a hoodie? Then yes.

    • I've seen 'how-tos' for installing Windows onto a Chromebook, but is generally a bad idea. However there are ways to install Chrome OS on Windows devices.

Generally though, if you haven't used Chrome OS before, start on a Chrome OS device.

  • DO NOT BUY.

    • +2

      WHY?

      • The reviews from the Amazon link are average to POOR!

  • +2

700 bucks might be tempting. 900? I think you'd better buy Duet 5 around 700 when discounted.

  • +3

    was $720.20 +shipping almost a year ago

    Then should be 600 now….

  • Chromebooks also have a limited shelf/support life.

    • +6

      Supported to June 2028.

Aren't chromebooks supposed to be cheap?

    • Why? I use a chromebook as my main computer for everything .. i would love to spend $2K for a high performance chromebook .. just that they only bring the cheap ones into australia unfortunately.

why should chromebook users have to use low spec CPU computers hence cheap?

  • +1

I think the bottom bezel is so super slim - so mush screen real estate and so little wastage to blackness - wouldn't you agree
and for 80 dollars short of a thousand dollars, I'd say that super slim bottom bezel is so value for money!

  • -3

Too expensive, not a deal at all.

  • Better go with Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5

  • -2

Wait this has gone UP $200 and for some reason it has 26 upvotes? Damn people really do blindly give money to Amazon.

    • +1

Still amazing hardware (and software) for the price

  • -3

Spend the bit extra on a refubed/on sale m1 mac air for 3x the battery and far better performance along with a guarantee to hold its value well. These kinds of laptops are general use office/homework type stuff, really doesn't matter what OS you go with at that point.

Spending nearly 1k on a chromebook is just dumb, especially one that runs a 4k resolution on a 13' screen of all things…

  • i canz hak this to run windows?
