For those trying to find this deal: Search for Hoyts (or click dealbot's link), there should be a separate Hoyts listing that shows $8.99 for an Adult ticket

Good deal if you haven't watched The Batman or Jutusu Kaisen

    • Displayed as a banner on mine when I click on Gift Cards. Saw it there earlier this afternoon when I was buying some Super Swap cards.

      • Should have posted it as a deal mate :(

        • Yeah I was busy doing some Afterpay Day shopping and in the back of my head thought "is that new?" but I could've sworn somebody had posted a Hoyts deal on ozb earlier today.

Thanks for your comment! Wouldn't have found it without it

    • Still can't find it :\ Can someone post a direct link? Or guide where it is, please?

      • +3

Have you tried the two above methods above via the ShopBack app?

        • +1

Just realised it is through the app. Thanks, heaps!

      • +1

Search "Hoyts" in the app - it should come up with two options (Hoyts cinema and hoyts gift). Tap on "Hoyts cinema". It will be the $14.95 one. Now scroll down, and you should find a "Adult Movie Ticket (Redeem by Tues 29 March 2022) for $8.99

    • +1

Surely Batman should be sold at 1960s re-run prices. How many times can we rehash the same story!

      • Each generation will get their own version of Batman.

  • +1

Question, do you get the reward points from this?

    • You should get your points as normal when you redeem for a ticket.
Have gotten rewards points in the past when redeeming vouchers anyway.

    • Not according to the T&C (clause 11) of the new rewards program.

Points are not earned on movie vouchers, free tickets, or complimentary tickets.

      • I'm not sure what they define as movie vouchers, but just checked my account and last visit in January fetched 1400 points (on the free rewards tier) for 2 adult, 2 kids restricted e-cinevouchers redeemed at counter.

On a side note having now read the T&Cs just learnt something new. Members, free or not, can get free popcorn refills for the day (maybe this is already well known, we don't normally buy cinema food so news to me but having just checked my rewards do happen to have enough points for a free small popcorn :D)

    • Yes, though from experience lower points.

    • I can confirm that you can earn points from using the ShopBack promo. They do not act as a movie voucher but as a gift card instead

Just earned 388 points for the Batman tomorrow :)

  • Link doesn’t take me anywhere in the app?

    • Refer to the first comment thread :)

      • Yeah did those, shows 14.95 for adults for me and the other hoyts is the gift vouchers?

        • Keep scrolling down - it was at the bottom (related items list) for me

          • @highwind: Yeah found it the second time by scrolling down!

  • Can we use them to redeem a child ticket? Would be a shame if I end up paying more for kiddo than other 2 combined…

    • +6

just get an adult ticket, and let your child use it.

Anyone else having trouble to see the voucher?
I clicked "opened your gift" -> "See Voucher" -> Another "See Voucher" -> then it only opens a blank white "DownloadPdf.apsx"
    No words no barcode…

Edit: Okay, it looks like the pdf can't be opened by a phone browser or shopback app, but by computer browser only

    • I can download the PDF in my mobile, but can't find any voucher code. I have the bar code and PIN. there is a alpha numeric code below the bar code, but hats not working. wondering how you did it

  • when does the deal end? like when is the last day to purchase?

  • +1

HOYTS isn't accepting my gift card codes, do i have to wait a bit to use them?

    • +2

Are you trying to enter them at checkout? If so, try at the ticket selection page instead.

      • this fixed it, thanks legend

      • which option do I select at the ticket selection page?

  • -1

is this some kind of cruel joke when i search up hoyts it shows nothing

    • +2

Showing ok here.. are you using the app? You won't find it on the website.

      • Oh OK thanks, I was trying on the website. Odd that it only shows in app then…unless it's an app specific offer?

  • • It is recommended that you book your tickets in advance via the HOYTS Website or app.

so we can slap on another $1.50 per ticket…

  • Thank you for the best deal

  • Anyone know if there's an upgrade fee for recliner seats?

    • Probably not, unless it's Xtremescreen etc.

    • +1

No upgrade fee for recliner seats for me

  • +1

How much is the upgrade fee?

  • +1

still having trouble finding it…, anyone having any luck?

Got it to work, 1. have to use the App. 2. search it and it should appear

  • +2

    PSA -

    1. $1.50 booking fee per person applies (unless you rock up and take left over seats).

    2. Voucher may download with weird file name extension making it not open. If so rename the file and kill everything behind .PDF

      screenshot

      • Oh thanks,
I was trying to enter it near the checkout. Didn't know it was here.

  • Trying to buy this deal via the Shopback app, and have linked my card for payment but the "Swipe to pay" button is greyed out?
Anyone know how to fix this?

    • Worked when I tried again ~1h later. Used on a D-BOX movie and only had to pay $8 extra for the upgrade. Cheers!

  • Can I buy these now and book it for 31st March now

  • Anyone has spare vouchers?

    • If they did you probably still don't want to buy them since they were only valid until 29/3 ;)
