        Fuyoiiii so much hate

      • Def not a wokfukboi

      • agree, zero qualification and just a showboater

        • Haha he's a standup comedian, i'm sure people are watching for the entertainment, not looking for cooking lessons

          • @jliu157: Comedy aside, his pro ccp stand is what drives away

            • @xyzzyxyzzy: Care to give a source for that?

                • @xyzzyxyzzy: That article (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-55651798) is full of conjecture and "hmm maybe he's pro-CCP hmm." There is no proof there that he's pro-CCP. So sick of cancel culture.

                  • @rst60G:

He added that he had not been aware of Mr Chen's "political thoughts and incorrect comments about China in the past".

Mike Chen's comments were 100% correct. Does it not make him CCP supporter or at least CCP sympathiser?

                    • @xyzzyxyzzy:

He added that he had not been aware of Mr Chen's "political thoughts and incorrect comments about China in the past".

All that quote proves is that Nigel Ng claims that comments that Mike Chen had made about China in the past were "incorrect". Neither that quote nor the broader article come right out and say what these "incorrect comments about China" were about.

The paragraph following your quote does imply that these so-called "incorrect" comments were regarding China's policies:

Mr Chen, who is based in the US and posts about food on his YouTube channel Strictly Dumpling, has previously criticised the Chinese government's policies and human rights record.

However it's only implied and not stated outright (let alone with proof), so I don't think it's fair to make the determination that Nigel is "pro-CCP" purely on the basis of this article. That would be a naive assumption IMO, especially given the "mainstream" media's proclivity for dramatisation and basically fabricating stories out of not much. I won't go so far as to call this fake news but I would take it with a grain of salt, as should any news article.

                      • @rst60G: You really took every word literally. Ok let me put this in another way:
                        1. I personally have followed Mick Chen for quite a long time. I knew his opinions on China and Chinese government way before this incident. There is nothing incorrect especially to me as a Chinese.
                        2. Nigel Ng cancelled his collaboration and removed the video with a Chinese dissident due to as what he said, "seriousness of the situation and the possible negative effects" on a Chinese social media platform. What do you think the seriousness is? What did he make himself into if he chose to censor himself? Not so hard to comprehend, init?
                        3. It's still hard for me to believe that somebody doesn't understand whenever someone criticises China or any policies of China, they are commenting China incorrectly from the perspective of CCP. But there it is, that's the truth. One will be absolutely hated, let alone having any opportunities to get into the Chinese market if they are related to any negative opinions on China, even to the most slightest

I have 2 of these, the handle becomes loose very quickly.
Also have the mammafong one and seems to be much better quality.

    • +1

after a few cheap works for the hammered mamafong when on special…was worth the extra, it’s thicker steel and no flexing, you can get similar in asian catering stores but the mamafong deal saved me a drive and i was working from home at the time and they seem to be geared u
for mail order, not a lot of the asian catering stores are , more geared for walk in customers.

I vouch for this website. I bought a whole heap of Oxo stuff from them recently. Zero issues and great communication

I didn't neg you but I presume the neg was because you claimed it was fake news without giving a reason why you thought so.

Ozbargainers want the link so they can check it out and potentially buy the product for even cheaper than the OP deal.

Bought one for cheaper. Not recommended. The handles got loose within 1 week of usage.

    Invest in a better one

  • +1

Not even close to the cheapest you will find at an Asian grocer/variety store … however it won't be this exact brand so can't give a -

You need an iron wok… will last for generations. Also, you need at least something forged like this for the handle since you just replace the wood when it rots/cracks..

  • Should be called Wokhey..

  • +1

    Klika were a dodgy seller.
Plus the wok Can Be bought cheaper.
