    Wow, down we go.
Wonder what next week will hold

    • +3

Another $100-$200 drop next week for sure.

      • Bet when Easter sale is on, will drop even more!

    • Depends on how much people will HODL

  • +4

I think I’m just gonna HODL for as long as I can and get a 3070ti eventually, that way I don’t have to upgrade my PSU (only have a 650w gold, just enough for a 3080 but too close to the line for me)

    • I am thinking the same, except i'm running a 500w PSU.
Seems to work fine for my 6700xt?

    • 3070ti you can wait until better prices, but unsure if the 3080 10gb will remain available. Prices across the board are coming down though, maybe 12gb will be priced well. Not having an official retail price might benefit us instead of hinder

    • Same. My 650W PSU is under 3 years old, no where near the 5 (or 10) years its suppose to last under warranty. Might as well wait for the next 250w cards

Too close in price to the 3080 really. If you ever plan on gaming in 4K it'd be definitely worth the extra ~$300.

Price dropping harder than the beats

RTX 3090 Ti coming, hold on to your hats boys: https://www.nicehash.com/blog/post/nvidia-rtx-3090-ti-specs-…

pre order lol. A lot like locking interest rates 4 years ago. Almost as smart as clearing them out of stock

  • Interesting to see nvidia cards drop this hard but haven't seen many AMD card do the same.

    • there was never a shortage of AMD cards here

    • I suspect AMD can't keep up with production. They would have sold boatloads during the mining craze, and made real inroads in market share. Instead they matched prices with nvidia, and sold hardly anything, like always.

Hoping intel provides real competition soon, AMD isn't trying hard enough

      • maybe they can get their act together with RDNA3…

      • Definitely, just look at the mobile CPU side, intel 12th gen laptops are all over the place now, Ryzen 6000 series stocks are few in comparison, which is in huge contrast to last year where 5000 series laptop came out much earlier than intel laptops.

Ive been looking to upgrade to the the 6980HX equipped zephyrus duo 16 for a while now-its supposed to bring 5ghz to ryzen for the first time-and guess what asus rep told me? It won’t come out until the latter half of 2022. So much for all the marketing they have done. Because by then it would be better to wait for 7000/12th gen and 40 series machines slated for Q1 2023.

AMD was trying hard enough. Apparantly 80% of wafer capacity went to PS5 and Xbox - https://igamesnews.com/pc/amd-reserves-80-of-its-soc-chips-f…

  • reports are A7XX intel will be on par around 3070 and 3080

29th of march looks like we will be getting a firm date

    • +1

      Yep, the A780, 256 bit & 16GB vram.

Hardware wise it’s definitely better than 3070 but leaks suggest driver issues. It will probably be like some of the old amd cards where their performance gets better the later In it’s lifecycle by improved drivers and vbios

Also looking forward to the A580 with 192bit & 12gb vram. If intel can price it cheaper than both the 3060 and 6600 than it’s gonna be a huge win for budget gamers.

      • It's a brand new product line, driver issues should be expected.
However I also have faith that intel will fix them pretty quickly

ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 Ti OC Edition, 8GB $1,149.50 , tomorrow if eligible for afterpay 15% off & not price jacked, will be $1,028.5

  • 3080's are getting close or around this price tho? or should be soon..?

I've been GPU less since my 980ti died 9mths ago and getting more and more tempted, but now 4000's are so close really… le sigh..

    • +1

      Should be soon.

Recent 3080 deals from different vendors all hold tight at 1399$ but given everything else is dropping like flies it will drop in due time as well. I say a drop to 1.1k or lower in the next few weeks is all but guaranteed.

      • Its holding tight at 1399 because people didnt HODL and went out of stock. Few months later when they see thier cards are not even midway of the benchmark charts, they will realise their mistakes.

There is a reason we're seeing $ drop on ASUS stock, here is the full story.
