    Camera Paradise hey
This could be the start of a beautiful relationship
    Welcome
    Now about the shipping price

    • 1-3 Day Express Shipping: $103.14

      Whatever do you mean? :o

    • +2

Agreed. Itemising a figure like that is just asking for comments.

      • Nah, just being forthright as we expect here.
They are always the cheapest for any Camera gear, just that the shipping always brings it close to other suppliers.
For me it no real biggie & as they say, total cost is whats important. Whenever Canon decide to pull its finger out of its arse for its consumer DSLR range, will def be checking out Camera Paradise. or I'm probz about to give up & go Nikon.

        • +1

I reckon exhorbitant shipping just to be able to advertise a significantly lower price, then get back close to competitors; regardless of disclosure; is actually doing an end-run around being forthright, well IMHO anyway.

Just advertising a fair dinkum, straight-up deal with reasonable shipping in the first place would win them more customers!

    • If I've done this right, you can choose the (oh, so SLIGHTLY) LOWER shipping method & bring down the cost to:

      Au$ 201.36

(Use BOTH Vouchers, lower-cost shipping method & no insurance)

"Think for yourself and save a bit more"

PS I think they do their business OUTSIDE eBay, so they won't be -stung- by lots of "Excessive Postage" claims by buyers.

Still, the above price makes this seem a deal, below the vendor's "suggested deal" ;-)

God help the buyer, who has to pay postage back for any repair!

  • $75 paint job price for orders other than blue???

    • +1

Yeah maybe it should say Blue in title.
Blue Camera $120, or others $195. I'd be happy to save 40% for that.
Will be really cool if Camera Paradise take the effort to post these deals here.
Hell, I might even get a P&S while Canon decides what the hell its doin with its consumer DSLR's (yeah yeah, they have the pro's & the rich covered)

      • We also hope that OzBargain would allow us to type more characters in the title in order to minimize misunderstanding.

    • Why do Panasonic even produce BLUE cameras?!?

    • It is not only about the color. If you would take a look of our product page, you would find that it is about different models, ZS10 and TZ20 (though the 2 models are nearly the same). The TZ20 is typically more costly.

  • Shopping Square have one of the lowest prices in Aus at $194 & shipping of $75 for me so $270, so this appears to be a good deal.

  • Citiwide have this in any colour for $201 delivered…no spare battery though:

    http://www.citiwideonline.com/au/index.php?page=shop.product…

    • I got $161 before adding an extra Home/CAR Charger" for $15 (total, presumably incl'g shipping?) of $176

      • $40 for shipping

        • Not $50 (for "Prosumer" camera)?

PS I was trying to write that I'd missed the "Shipping [by stealth] Policy" page, but you replying "locked" my comment from editing

  • +2

I'm negging it, because even though overall it's a good price, that shipping is ridiculous. If OP cares to explain how it manages to cost $103.14 for shipping, I will revoke my neg. I got a PRAM delivered from the UK for ~$50.

Marking up the shipping only hurts the consumer, as if in the end, something goes wrong, you are only liable to refund the price of the item and not the postage. Why not sell it for 1c with $220 shipping?

    • +1

Seller forgot to mention it comes with its own private Jet from HK

    • I would think PayPal should help you get a full refund, at least if you don't get anything from the vendor (ie, missing package), IF you let PayPal know in time…

If not, they you make a very good point.

Another - more subtle - negative side to EXCESSIVE Shipping fees:

It can "train" the marketplace to accept EXCESSIVE as Normal, over time… a VERY bad thing.

  • Typical HK dealing:

There are a Gazillion ways to make "Today's -Least- Price" seem more attractive than everybody else's way of getting you to pay that much… + or - maybe $5.

Of course, you can always pay MORE than the TLP…

    • If you would compare our price, you may find that the deal is probably the most money saving one. Also, this deal is real and it will end by the date mentioned definitely. We hope you would understand that we are not playing the numbering game but we are dealing with the lowest total price.

$103.14 shipping is just plain stupid.

Thanks for everyone who gives us feedback on the shipping cost. We totally understand that there is still room for us to improve our pricing structure.

The reason for the setting of our current shipping cost is that we do guarantee our customers 100% GST free. The total cost you pay us is all you have to pay.

Also, we provide a detailed tracking system to our customers. Unlike some merchants who give you a tracking number which only tells you when the parcel is shipped, we give you the one that tells you the whole process in detail.

For example, you would see when the courier picks up your order in Hong Kong, when it arrives your country, and when the courier tries to deliver the order to you but you are not at home. We strongly believe this is the best way to protect our customers, especially through online purchase.

We hope it will resolve some of your concerns. For sure, we will evaluate our current pricing structure and we are happy to hear your feedback again.

    • That service doesn't cost $103.14, period!

It's a well known pricing tactic that many businesses use, but that doesn't make it any less devious.

Trying to justify it by pissing on our backs & telling us that you've made it rain, is just insulting our intelligence! :s
