  • HODL! These will drop even more. We should see 3070s at this price soon and they outperform the 6700XT.

and maybe you will see 6700xt drop further, which will still make it worth it. see i can speculate too.

  • with 5900x, which one would perform better? 6700xt or 3070?

    • +1

3070 will be better than 6700xt no matter which cpu you pair it with.

      But it is more expensive

      • -1

That's not exactly true, if you are CPU bottlenecked, the AMD GPUs usually perform better than the 3000 series.

        • However Dalgona456 has a 5900x, so he won't have to worry about CPU bottledneck.

  • Finally seeing some AMD deal after so many RTX ones

    • Yes. Not bad at all. Slowly getting there. Hoping for further price drop when I get a new build soon.

  • This almost brought a tear to my eye

  • Is this a significant upgrade over vega 56?

    • This is a rough idea of the difference… It's only one game though, but HU do alot of these comparisons so you can search the chanel for more info.

    • Yeah double the performance but also 2x price increase

      • On paper, the performance may have doubled. But at the same time, games have also become more demanding. We should be seeing price increases following the inflation rate, not more. Merely keeping up with the performance that is required to play modern games is a poor justification for the price hike. That is particularly true for AMD cards, which do not offer any added value. Like one could argue that a price increase for a mid-range NVIDIA card may be more justifiable since owners can use DLSS to play at higher resolutions than what the card nominally supports. Same is true for Raytracing, for what it's worth. AMD cards are massively trailing NVIDIA in Raytracing performance.

        Hard pass.

  • I believe 6x50 series are going to launch in the next few months with upgrades in mem bandwidth.. . So these should drop a bit further… Good sign still with availability going up and prices slowly dropping.

  • I remember the 6700XT getting trashed by reviewers for its mediocre performance and lack of features (DLSS, proper Raytracing support). Hard pass for me at this price point.

  • how much better of an upgrade is the 6700 XT over the 6600 XT?

    • 6600xt is competitive with 3060, this sits in between 3060ti and 3070

      • so not worth the upgrade then?

        • If you already have a 6600XT, not worth upgrading.

          • @edfoo: cool thanks :D

            • @kungfuman: Well, if you somehow can sell your 6600XT for $800 and buy this new 6700XT for $929, then it is worth upgrading. Otherwise no.

  • is this underrated card?

    • +1

      no it is rated appropriately

    • This card costs 30% more than 5700xt for 30% more performance. It gave no price to performance improvement to a card released in mid-2019, so it definitely isn't under-rated. I upvoted it because I was amazed to see it back to basically release price given the crypto s*** show.
