The road rules have changed significantly since you were a kid…

Children aged under 7 years must use an approved suitable child restraint when travelling in a vehicle. A child restraint is a forward‑facing or rear-facing child car seat (also referred to as a baby car seat or baby capsule), or a booster seat.

  • Isofix ?

In Australia, ISOFIX is only available between 0-4, which means NO

      • Didn't know that. Useful info. Thanks.

        • It's actually value for money to buy this, even though it's slightly pain in the butt to install it, but you will get over it.

  • Thanks OP.

Warning. The maxi guard pro is a much safer seat.

    • Doesn't mean this one is worst! There would always be a better and safer option

    • kindly share your reason? i thought it is different in fabric only ?

      • -1

That's the pro vs pro+ = only the material differs
Standard vs pro = only pro has side impact cushioning

The $100 extra for the pro has to be worth it to any sane parent.

Both of these complaints with Australian standards, one has side protection other don't. That not a valid reason to negative this deal.

What if another brand offers even more features?

If this a overseas model, then fair enough, but this isn't.

      • Safety.. Or $100. Seems pretty simple to me.

        • Aww make sure to buy a car with passenger side air bags too or a Volvo 😉

          • @boomramada: I know you're joking, but this isn't the thread for that. It discourages safety.

            • @justtoreply: Well what I'm try to say that there is the Australian safety standards, which based on actual independent studies and then the brand marketing by just adding extra padding to each side and claim it got better protection and providing bit of assurance. If you have extra $100 go for it.
But you negative this deal based on that isn't fair call. There isn't even test to prove it is better. This is just scaring people so they spend more kind on thing to me.

              • @boomramada: The data is on childcarseats iirc. I went through every test they had done about a year ago, subcategories and all, to decide what i thought was the safest seat. I needed the subcategories because there is no winner across all categories. The non-pro of this wasn't in the running. Unless that's perhaps that it was different and wasn't tested.

I'm moving on from this thread now.

Perhaps I should have just said it's 20% off pretty much all seats at Baby Bunting eBay? I did also specifically mention the Pro in the OP but perhaps should have linked it to appease you?
Everyone has their budget vs safety threshold with these things. Yes, the Pro is a better seat and so it should be for the price difference, don't really see it as a reason for negging the deal because you don't like the product though.

      • I saw you mention the pro. It was good that you did. I'm not attacking you, people will do what they want, im just trying to send a well informed and strong message to others to help protect their kids.

I'm done with this thread if all that's happening is people attack me for giving a shit about their family.

        /fin.

        • I'm all for buying the best seat that fits your budget. This one is pretty popular, I imagine the Pro is also. I got this one to go in our second car but our little two ride in Infasecure Achieve's in the daily car. I just couldn't justify another $500-800 on a seat they'll likely spend a handful of days over the year.

I think a much bigger safety factor than the difference between those two seats is the car, having it fitted correctly and keeping the child rear facing as long as possible. Given these aren't rear facing, I'd like to think the child is reasonably sized before moving in to one.

      • Thanks OP, you could add 20% off all car seats on description and I end up buying a booster seat for second car (Maxi Cosi Rodi Booster Seat).

  • Thanks OP. I've been watching for a good deal to buy two new car seats due to my soon to arrive twins. Saved over $200 thanks to this over the two I wanted, Graphene+ and Maxi Guard Pro+.
