what about the new apple display?

    • What about it?

  • Does anyone know What's the cost for Apple watch SE 40mm GPS only on student portal?

    • +1

I don't think watches are on the edu store

      • Watch is on edu store. But same price..

  • Is it available for purchases at https://www.apple.com/au_edu_5000447/store
    ?

    • +2

      No.

You have linked to an AOC (Apple On Campus) portal. Apple considers them to be EPP portals, and Cashrewards' terms state:

Cashback is ineligible on EPP purchases (Employee Purchase Program).

I bought from the AEU store earlier today thinking the same, however after using my ANZ card I just got an email from Cashrewards saying that they have tracked my purchase… will probably be declined, but we'll see!

        • Any updates on whether it went through?

  • Great timing, need to get my daughter a MacBook Air 👍

    • +1

Whenever I buy Apple products such as laptops, I just ask JB for 10% off if they aren't having a sale and then I stack with discounted JB gift cards.

      • Yeah my thoughts exactly I've never bought anything over like $150 at JB without having a little negotiate on the price I wouldn't think there would be much of a problem getting 10% off a MacBook Air

  • These deals would be awesome if they weren't capped. Although the iPad Pro in looking at is $1349 so I guess the difference would only be about $40 but with Apple pricing every cent counts lol

  • No free airpods saddly

  • I don’t see watch 7 on exclusion

  • +6

the iPad Pro 11 inch with cashrewards ($1099) seems more favourable then the new iPad Air. ($929) as it has 128G storage, better display, 3 camera, thunderbolt connection. What is your thoughts?

    • Yeah the 120hz screen and extra storage seems worth it, the Air should really be cheaper.

      • The new iPad Air isn't a huge upgrade from the 4th gen.. If you managed to get a 4th gen with the free airpods then I'd say you've done well not to wait.
As for Air 5th gen vs Pro 11 inch - I'd go for the Pro.

        • Do you reckon I should return my iPad Air 4th gen (purchased on 01/03 with this deal) and get the iPad Pro 11-inch instead?

          • @Coconut Water: Nup. Unless you really need the extra power of the iPad pro for video editing or 'heavy' stuff.. Otherwise you get a smaller, lighter iPad, that is a bit cheaper, and has a free pair of airpods.

The iPad pros are great (I have one), but for just regular daily stuff like web browsing, emails, and basic 'office' tasks the iPad air is probably the better choice.

If you were choosing between the 5th gen iPad air and the 11" Pro then I'd say go pro, as the price gap is smaller and it doesn't have the free airpods.

      • Most people would choose 11 pro for now. Apple can get ride of some stocks. I reckon next gen Pro will be more expensive.

    • I have a few gift cards saved from the recent TCN > JB > Apple swap and was planning on getting the new Air, but now that this has popped up I'm seriously considering getting the Pro :/

    • you are right, if you can get it from education store it will be $1029 vs $849. Pay with 5%-10% discount Apple gift card even better.

    • Pro is better, just bought it with airpods in last deal.

  • perfect timing

    So many exclusions…

  • Trade in not excluded, or did I miss something in the fine print?

  • Was expecting a new MacBook Air to come out today, so missed the AirPods deal.

    • End of the year M2 Air….. possibly.

      • doubt it

        • Seems very likely that it'll get a newer chip of some sort. It'll be 2 years old then and I'm sure the Air is a big seller.

          • @Merlict: i think it will be higher spec M1

          • @Merlict: Rumours suggest the M2 might not be as powerful as an M1 pro, and if that's the case it'll be nothing to write about.

            • @Flintz: Tbh the Air doesn't need much more power for regular laptop duties, I'd rather they added 16gb ram (or made the upgrade less of a ripoff)

              • @Merlict: Yup totally agree, but Apple being Apple probably will be the last to make 16gb the entry level

  • With the gift card exclusion I’m assuming that means Apple store credit as well? E.g. loaded from gift cards bought from Woolies.

Oops, read it wrong. Gift cards are eligible.

  • kinda weird. cant link cashrewards to education store for some reason (via browser extension). anyone else experiencing this?

edit: nvm had to click through from cashrewards site. cant do via browser extension for me anyways

  • Will they ever allow cashback on 9th Gen iPad?

    • +1

Given the wait time to get one is still in the weeks, it'll be awhile

  • What's the best place to get apple gift cards?

  • +1

Thanks OP. Finally took the plunge and got AirPods 3- thanks

  • It seems that this 10% off will track in the main store. Prior to today and during the last Cashrewards 10% sale, there was always an education store category, but there isn't one now. Anyone know if this is correct?

  • really want to get a Mac Studio, but waiting for something to get at least 10% off. Anyone know of any places selling discount gift cards?

  • does it work with student edge?

    • +2

I don’t see the point of doing that.

Although Student Edge used to have their own special EPP portal, I noticed they switched to simply redirecting you to the regular Apple Education Store around the time the free/discounted AirPods offer was announced earlier this year.

The Cashrewards page (and OP’s description) include instructions on how to go from the Cashrewards website to the Apple Education Store, so I suggest you follow that to get the education discount. If you go through Cashrewards first and then through Student Edge to get to the Apple Education, there is a 99.9999999% chance the sale will actually be attributed to Student Edge, and Student Edge would earn a commission on the sale.

Bought MacBook with the similar deal last week =/ nothing tracked thinking to return the MacBook to repurchase it instead of going thru all these processes with CR team again pain in the arse

  • Parallels is an yearly subscription is there a way out to get free subscription? I really need Windows 11 on mac

  • +1

    Cheers OP.

Was about to by a Mac Mini from Refurb for $1319… with this got it via normal store for the same price and didn't have to wait for it to be there.

    Cheers.

  • I bought a macbook air and the cashback is not tracking for me :(

    • +1

From the Cashrewards page and OP's description:

Important: Cashback tracks to member accounts between 2-7 days after you receive confirmation from Apple that the product has been shipped.

      • +3

Let me know if you want a job lol. Your input around the forums is invaluable. Thank you :)

  • windows 11 without parallels subcription. Is it possible?

    • Yes, buy a PC

      • Ha ha Expected. Laptop is very expensive and can't download any softwares u want. Cant have windows, cant have virtualisations other than paid software. Can't play gaming, less user friendly. Windows listens and tailors to users requirements. Mac is overrated.

        • Well, I don'tsee Macs being more expensive than PCs with similar specs, so it basically goes down to what you need your system to do for you. What I don't like doing is buying something and then pushing it to work like something it is not built for. If Mac does what you want it to do out of the box, buy a Mac and you'll be the happiest person in the world. If Windows is your thing and you need Windows, buy a Windows PC and live life happily ever after. Simple as that.

          • @Rimas: Sounds good. I was thinking to enjoy best of both Mac and Windows if Mac allows but I didn't want to pay for annual subscription for parallels again.

  • Bought an Apple Watch (paid using part gift card and part Apple Account Balance), and CR tracked the order amount incorrectly. Anyone had the same issue with order paid using Apple Account Balance? The sale amount was exactly the $ amount of gift card I used to pay for the order.

    • Hi. Aware of the issue and it’s affecting a few members. Please hold tight as Apple is investigating the root cause and we should know more next week. In the meantime, please PM me your CR email address and a screenshot of the official Apple invoice. And please don’t worry, this will be sorted. Thanks.

Edit: that’s interesting re sale amount matching GC amount. The issue above raised with Apple is slightly different but could be related.

      • Cheers TA! PM’d!

  • My Mac mini order tracked and $100 is on the way.

  • If anyone has any issues with incorrect sale & cashback amounts where Apple orders have tracked at a lower amount than expected, feel free to message minita or myself with your CR email address and a screenshot of the full Apple invoice and we'll sort it out for you. Many thanks!
