Well worth it, has come in very handy especially when having young children.
We have the Thermoscan 7 at it's been great for us. It's very fast and easy. So much better than the digital probe types. Those ones take so much longer and can be quite difficult to take a reading if they are squirming about. We moved on to the Thermoscan as soon as he reached six months. (They aren't recommended for infants under six months)
Expensive these ones, used to be ~90 on ebay for the Scan 7
That was before Covid
Wow, are the cheaper ones really that bad?
Depends if you value accurate measurements of your health.
No
Lol, in the height of covid "let me check your temperature" "35.5, perfect".
Not really a $43 saving when it’s available at the same price or lower such as on eBay.
What’s the difference between Amazon one and CW one? Why pay $20 more?
Aussie warranty
But they’re both different model numbers it seems though.
one is forehead the other is ear
are the touch-free ones not good enough?
Per Choice:
Temperature variations may appear depending on skin type, skin colour, whether the subject is wearing make-up, or sweat.
We have the next model up but, I don't if it's just us but we don't throw the lens filters/caps away after each use. Maybe we are just grots. We do keep a separate one for the little one. I guess if we had some sort of ear infection or the like we would throw it away after using it then. You can pick them up in bulk from third party sellers on ebay but we haven't needed to yet.
If your thermoscan starts to flash low battery often, https://www.susa.net/wordpress/2015/02/braun-thermoscan-fix-…
Do this.. was going to throw mine out, and did what was described on the site, and now working perfectly again
Includes: Thermometer, Protective case with lens filter storage, 21 disposable lens filters, 2 AA batteries.
Anyone know how often do you have to change these lens filters? And best place to buy the replacement filters?
Been that price for a long time at chemist warehouse, I've had one for 2 years.
10/10 would buy again if i ever need toGood to hear feedback.
How often do you have to change these lens filters? And best place to buy the replacement filters?Officially: change before each use.
Most people at home change it after a few uses. You can just wipe it gently with a cloth to remove any dirt.
Get them from chemist warehouse, or maybe online if you find them cheaperWe hardly ever change ours. We have one for us parents and one for our little one. We keep ours separately in a container that we got for dummies. We take it out, use it, and then put it straight back into the container. Unless there is an issue inside the ear or we drop it on the floor or something, I don't see how it would really get that dirty. If you are looking for some replacements I have seen some possible options on ebay. Here is some examples vs the phillips ones at Chemist Warehouse:

I have no idea if they are the right ones but it does give you an idea of how much cheaper third party options are. If I really needed to buy some I would read more at the relevant ebay listing.
I have one for 7 years, it is still like new and working well. I bought a lot of caps from eBay in bulk for a cheaper price.
The new version is LED backlit, which is a better improvement.
Don't waste the money for the forehead one, it is not accurate at all.
Not worthy of a neg but these go for less than $100 delivered on eBay
