    • Hey chakel, The Staple XL is 500ml and higher ABV of 3 standard drinks. A 12pk of 4% seltzer is 12 standards total and a 12pk of Staple XL is 36 standards. Cheers

      • Most of us don't buy drinks on a $/ABV basis so this logic is broken.

        That said… if you want to use that logic then here..

            @snowyguy: I only have a rough idea, but I welcome you to link me to more information if it is so relevant.
            I doubt that the tax alone justifies the price difference.
            It would at least make more sense to claim you're offering a super premium boutique product.

            I enjoy trying different drinks from all over the would, but also have a personal budget to consider and rarely try anything I consider to be exorbitantly priced. I only have a few drinks a month, combination of personal choice and personal finances.

            No one has up-voted this, not even a single click, even with your 25% off.
            I'm simply telling you what everyone is thinking.

            Also don't play the bullshit line on me about how I don't support a small company.
            We don't all have dollar bills to burn and it's an insult for people living pay cheque to pay cheque.
            And don't dare turn that around to say that if i'd spend more on Aussie stuff i'd be better off.
            It might be the case, but if you're not stockpiling fuel in jerry cans when it's cheap and shopping for staples on a $/unit basis you wouldn't understand.

            Simple fresh produce is a luxury for us these days… I'm finding that out after trying to get into home cooking more meals.

            @snowyguy: Mate this is OzBargain, not OzAdvertising. Irrespective of your company's location or origin, what matters most is the price & whether your offering constitutes a deal (Hint - $8/can + delivery doesn't sound that way). Can't hack that? Then you're definitely on the wrong platform.

            • @Ham Dragon: You're quite right, I neglected to mention that the post had a strong advertising vibe to it.

              Whilst something doesn't have to be the cheapest possible of it's kind to constitute a bargain, it at least has to be somewhat competitive with similar products in it's market.

              I don't always go for the cheapest item on the shelf, in some cases I do a mental value analysis, like buying Ryobi tools instead of Ozito.
              You never had to be the cheapest, you just had to be in the ball park.

              Not insulting potential customers helps too.

              Out of 2 deals posted on OzB you have a single positive vote.
              You might want to go away and have a think before posting again.

              Hint… if you think you have a truly worthy product maybe loss lead or at least sell at cost some 6 packs.
              Maybe twist the arm of your courier for a special rate for a week of high volume shipping to lower your costs.
              If you truly have an interesting product you'll make it back in sales, if not then at least you'll have made a more legit effort to get your brand out there.
              But don't ever attack a customer, customers aren't always right, but they are he ones who's pockets you want to get into.
              A more positive spin than pointing at Aussie liquor laws would have been to extol the virtues of your product and convince me it's worth the money, admit the ABV comparison was not well thought out or straight up ask for more feedback.

          • @snowyguy: i was about to comment on the australian alcohol tax, it's ridiculous, it causes some drinks to cost 100 times their foreign price
