Will this apply even for product categories that would normally result in 0% cashback?

    • +10

      Yes it will :)

      • that means anything in amazon?

        • and inclusive of Subscribe and Save?

          • @tajid: from memory S&S (first subscription) is counted
            but need OP to confirm

          • +3

@tajid: Only on the first S&S order.

        • +3

          Correct.

      • Hi gyb, will this work on Amazon for a kindle? Paying using gift card.

        • +2

          Yep! 😊

      • +1

        Yes it will :)

Is it a recent change, OP? I thought such cashback offers were not applicable on Amazon categories which have 0% cashback. Welcome change it is!

        • +7

It is a fairly recent change.
So long as the order tracks with the required minimum spend, the bonus will be eligible regardless of the Cashback value attached to the order.

          • +2

@gotyourback: That's great. A massive change I would say considering that a lot of low value products sit in 0% cashback categories. Also, less headache for customers to check cashback percentages and get confused about categories. Thanks!!

          • @gotyourback: I made a comment in another thread that eBay auctions and best offer accepted prices are ineligible, are they now eligible for bonuses the same way 0% categories are?

            • +2

@Hiphopopotamus: Unfortunately not, we don't receive any reporting/tracking for Best Offer priced items.

No order being tracked would result in the challenge failing, if no subsequent order is placed by the end date.

  • can we stack challenge so for example i have a new shopback account and haven't made a purchase for the $20 ebay cashback no minimum spend challenge, so if i made a $10 purchase would i complete both

    • Correct, so long as you opt-in to both challenges prior to transacting.

      • cool

      • I am enrolled in OzBargain Perks but "$3 Bonus on $10 Mininum Spend at Any Store" doesn't come up under OzBargain Perks in my App.

  • +2

Thanks GYB - added to the BCMT for tracking purposes

  • Thanks OP!

  • Duh, bought something off ebay just minutes before stumbling on this.

    • +1

Could you send me a DM? :)

      • Sent. Thank you.

  • -1

Pizza Hut looks tempting with a 30% off code so you end up spending over $10!

  • Almost bought a gift card and then read the title properly lol. thankfully the sms verification stopped it going through.

  • Thanks!

  • Timely deal GYB! Was going to buy some shampoo on Amazon.

On that topic, do you know if it counts towards haircare (4% CB) or household items (0%)?

    • +1

It would depend on what category Amazon have listed it under.
Send me a DM with a link to the product and I'll take a look for you :)

    • But you will still get $3 additional cashback as per OP's comment above, irrespective of the original cashback %.

      • Technically it's correct. However, 0% items are typically deemed as a rejection in cashback systems and associated bonus would be declined.

You'd then need to ask support for manual accreditation which is a hassle for everyone.

  • +1

Hi rep, does paying with gift card count as eligible spent or not?

    • +7

It depends on the store you buy from.
eBay/Amazon/DoorDash - yes as they report the order regardless of payment method.
Other retailers might report only the value excluding the Gift Card value used.

For instance, you buy an item worth $15 but pay $10 by Gift Card.
Some stores will only report the order value as $5, resulting in the order not being eligible for the bonus.

      • Can you let me know how ubereats report gift cards? Can Uber eats gift cards/wallet dollars be used and track?

        • From memory, Uber Eats reports your order minus any Gift Cards/Credits/Vouchers applied.

          • +1

@gotyourback: Hi GYB, referring to the DON'Ts section of Chemist Warehouse, I assume paying by gift cards are a NO for both regular cashback and challenges like this for CW, is that correct?

            • +1

@KOzBargain: Regular Cashback is up in the air as I'm not 100% certain.
Challenges, should be fine - reach out if otherwise :)

              • @gotyourback: Great to hear, regular cashback is only 1% so not too worry.

The Super Swap recently added CW eGift card, I was worried by using those, it might invalidate the challenges.

Do yo know is CW same as eBay/Amazon/DoorDash (reports whole amount) or like Uber Eats (reports amount minus any Gift Cards/Credits/Vouchers applied.)?

                • +1

@KOzBargain: To be 100% honest, no I'm not sure how they report it.
If you plan to place an order, send me a DM so we can test this & I'd be happy to cover any cost lost (default 1% Cashback / bonuses / etc).

  • +1

I have 6 of these still in pending going back as far as Jan 2021… At least 3 of them should have been paid out by now, or at least rejected, but I guess I'll never know

    • Hey @Fishballs, could you send me a DM with your account email so I can take a look at it once I'm back from lunch?

  • Hopefully people can enough value from these deals to offset the losses from that time Shopback had their whole customer database leaked online and sold on the dark web, then they covered it up and refused to acknowledge that it ever happened.

    • Ths is 100% correct. People forget so quickly when a few $$$ are tossed at them.

    • they covered it up and refused to acknowledge that it ever happened

Yeah, they screwed up on security and DB was released, but that particular statement isn't true. GYB acknowledged it.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/568593
      Doesn't undo the breach though.

      • Well they did screw up that communication back then by obfuscating details, delaying announcements, not emailing people iirc.

But I was more so referring to the fact they constantly ignore all references to it in ozbargain comments and online.

  • great deal cheers!

  • Thank you ~ GYB!!

  • When it says shopback gift cards, is that just the shopback gift card or all gift cards?

    • All Gift Cards available on our app are excluded from this bonus :)

    • It means the purchase of any gift cards through the ShopBack portal don't count.
& You'll find most stores that sell gift cards don't count buying them as eligible for cashback so better to assume any gift cards are ineligible! Unless of course you can find a specific store that says purchase of gift cards are eligible (if they exist)

  • Will this work buying ebay gift cards at Ebay or Amazon gift cards at Amazon (as against at ShopBack Gift Cards)? Or similar at other stores?

    • Unfortunately not as we do not receive commission payments for the purchase of Gift Cards from eBay or Amazon.
So this will not track to your account & result in no order being tied to the bonus.

      • Thanks - but https://www.shopback.com.au/ebay-australia includes:

Lifestyle (Existing eBay Customers) - Giftcard & Coupons, Musical Instrument, Sports, Tickets & Events 1.00%

How does that work? Or is that only buying gift cards sold by other sellers and not directly by ebay?

        • That is in reference to Gift Cards sold by other sellers on eBay.
eBay's own Gift Cards will not earn a commission.

          Cheers!

          • @gotyourback: Thanks @gotyourback

That might be worth clarifying at https://www.shopback.com.au/ebay-australia (and other merchants' pages at Shopback?)

It's really not clear in general - not just in regard to this challenge

            • @davedave: 100% agree with you there - we've flagged this with our team to update the store page.
It should be reflecting the more accurate description in a few hours :)

  • This typically doesnt stack with ebay voucher code? I got $5 ebay+

    • You can use that eBay voucher for this bonus :)

      • So if I order an item value at $10 from ebay, apply the $5 voucher, used $5 gift, am I still eligible for the bonus? or do I need to order at least $15? Secondly does international ebay matter in this deal? BTW, can't see anyone can step in your role at this point, all the great deals are still posted by you:)

        • +1

It should be sweet to just purchase the $10 item like that.
If any issues, reach out and I'll help out.

BTW, can't see anyone can step in your role at this point, all the great deals are still posted by you

          Nobody just yet.
Once we hire a new Community Manager, they will share this account (GYB), that way our community still have a familiar name looking after them.

  • +1

Just to confirm, eBay purchases which use coupon codes not on the ShopBack website would not qualify for normal cashback and therefore would also not qualify for the bonus cashback, right?

I'm just trying to reassure myself I didn't miss out it as I just put through two orders in eBay last night but I did use eBay Plus-specific codes which normally would not track on ShopBack 😔

    • +3

This bonus would be eligible for orders that use an eBay Code/Voucher.
Your order will recieve $0 Cashback, but the challenge will accept it as long as the order value is greater than $10.

I'm sorry you missed out on this bonus :(

      • Bugger. Oh well, thanks for the deal and the reply anyway. Guess I'll see if there's anything else I need to buy :(

      • Would that be similar for Amazon with a promo code? Thanks.

  • Thanks

  • Hi, I clicked the start from the shopback app, can i use desktop pc to finish the purchase from ebay?

    • +1

      Yes you can.
That being said, our App is proven to have greater tracking success with fewer third-party softwares interfering on mobile.

      Cheers!

  • Thanks GYB, I'm in it to win it…..always a win with these which is awesome.

  • Would it this apply for "best offer" purchase on ebay?

  • Surprised there's still slots. Thanks OP

    • 😉

  • Thanks OP, I have 3 of " Spend xx at any store" from last October and still pending status…over 4 months….

    • +1

Hey @DraggyX, could you send me a DM with your account email & the Challenges in question?
Happy to take a look for you in the morning :)

      • Thanks OP, somehow I can not find CW gift card in Gift card section in the app

        • +2

          No worries!

Chemist Warehouse falls under our ShopBack Super Swap Gift Cards (2% Cashback).
Just purchase one of the Super Swap Cards & exchange it for CW.

  • +1

still waiting on my 30% liquorland tracking

    • @mitcheo, I responded to your previous comment here.
Would you like to send me a DM so I can take a look?

      • +1

ive messaged enough about it to people

        • +1

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know as I'm not a part of our Customer Service team.
I don't have any eyes on communications from you, as I do not know what your ShopBack account email is.

If you would like my help, the offer is still there.

          Have a lovely night :)

  • Hi OP, Will this work if I use the $10 loyalty credit from Supercheap to pay for a $14 item?

    • +1

I'm not 100% sure but I believe it should be sweet.
If it causes any issues, send me a DM & I'll help sort it out for you :)

      • Thanks, I will place my order now.

  • Chemist Warehouse for me. Just collected. Waiting for the tracking email now.

  • Hi OP, will I still get the bonus if I purchase two of the Village/Event movie tickets for $9.95 each?

    • Unfortunately not as they fall under our ShopBack Gift Cards Portal.

      • Ah bummer, I was wondering why the bonus didn't show up after purchasing the tickets. Thanks for confirming.

  • I have 14 items in Earn More, but his offer is missing! I'm enrolled in OzBargain Exclusive Perks. SB broken for me.

    • First 4,000 Customers to Opt-In.

      • once i opt-in, then i secure the place so i can until 16th to finish, am i right?

        • Yes you have until 16th to make a purchase

    • I'm sorry if you missed this deal, we have more planned soon though!
Looks like it reached the opt-in cap late last night.
