Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 128GB $549 after $250 Trade-in Bonus & $200 EDS Voucher ($799 w/o Trade) Shipped @ Samsung

741

Update: There are too many glitches on the Samsung website to keep this up. Marked as expired until Samsung corrects the problems.

Thought I'd post this since the trade-in bonus1 has been upped again this month, and our favourite vouchers were re-activated. And some may have made their mind after the S22 release.
No bonuses or accessory discounts this time around, and a good price - $50 more than the initial sales when trading in, identical when not. Unattainable until the online shop managers fix the new MA9 codes ending in N2WT instead of the old MTPD.
$100 discount with Samsung Subscription available.2

128GB 256GB
Initial price $999.00 $1,099.00
- Email MA9… voucher (1) -$50.00 -$50.00
- Livechat EDS… voucher (2) -$200.00 -$200.00
—OR Samsung Loyalty CDS… voucher— (3) " "
TOTAL non-trade $800 $900
- Bonus trade-in credit (4) -$250.00 -$250.00
(- Value of your trade-in device(s)) -$x -$x
TOTAL w/ trade-in <$549 <$649

Steps

(1): Subscribe for promotional emails here. Contact [email protected] if code not received. Often addresses aren't actually added to their mailing list. Broken

(2): Ask for an EDS voucher at the chat support at the live chat bubble (with an emoji person) in the bottom right corner. Clear your browser cache or use another browser if it doesn't show, or go to "Chat support" here. Select Product & Shopping > Smartphones & Wearables. Ask around if denied. Chat is down atm :|

(OR 3): Email [email protected] with front & back photos and IMEI of a Samsung phone and state that it has physical/water damage.

(4 Trade-in): See here. They now place a hold of the total device value. For support: [email protected]

If you have access to EPP/Education, the 128GB is $749 using old MA9 (only eligible promo code there), and 256GB is $829.20.

    Excellent post, thanks OP

  • dont think 2 works unless it has changed recently?

    • Changed afaik. Offering vouchers again and mine works. Upped from $150. Just doesn't stack with Loyalty anymore (if it ever did, not sure).

      • thats $200 voucher without showing evidence of a broken phone right?

        • Correct. Livechat agents provide them to anyone who asks.

  • Does this mean they will take my busted S7 as trade….

    • They accept the S8 and above. But it can't be worth $0.

      • Cheers. But nah it doesnt work. It powers up but screen was cracked and got wet some time much later. Water stopped it doing anything.

    • No, galaxy s7 is now too old.. This makes me so sad because Samsung actually stuffed up my Bluetooth last time it was in for repair (battery issues and screen burn), but they tested it and said it worked fine after I sent it back. They never took responsibility and now I'm left with a phone that drops its Bluetooth connection very often.

  • 50$ Subscribe doesn't work

    • Is that the subscription form or applying the code in the checkout? Working on my end.

      • +1

It says " The code you entered did not affect your order. Please note, codes may only be valid for certain items or in certain conditions."
My code is from the subscription form.

        • +1

Interesting. Just checked and yes, the new ones don't apply. I had a couple come through from a bot at the email desk seemingly completely disregarding the subject of my emails. Ugh Samsungggg.
IMO that's got to be a bug (according to their T&Cs), I'll let them know, don't hold your breath.

          • @Techie4066: But it works with S22 "Your promo code has been successfully added to your cart and free delivery have been applied to your cart."
But anyway I will wait for a special deal on S22 ^^

            • @iforumos: Yeah and here are the terms

Discount off eligible purchases equal to or greater than $350 on the Samsung Online Store (shop.samsung.com/au/) from 9.00am (AEDT) on 25th February 2022 to 11.59pm (AEDT) on 31st December 2022, unless withdrawn earlier. Offer is available new marketing opt-in customers only. If you have already received a code under this program, you are not eligible for a new code. Customer cannot receive multiple codes to one email address. Offer limited to 1 promotion code per customer per transaction. Promotion code redeemable once. Customer must opt in to Samsung Australia marketing communications to be eligible to receive a promotion code. Subject to stock availability at time of purchase. Promotion code cannot be applied to previous transactions. Code may take 48 hours to be received and must be added to the cart at the time of purchase to redeem discount. Discount is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. Not available in conjunction with any other offer unless otherwise specified.

          • @Techie4066: Any chance of sharing one with me?

            :)

I've done the sign-up on 3 different emails and emailed the Helpdesk directly, but no $50 coupon…

    • newsletter code for me its not working but my EDS code works
As per the live chat agent its stackable, so i dont know how

      • What’s the EDS code?

  • Is it dual sim?

  • +2

Good luck with getting anything from chat. I am trying to discuss an existing order in Edu, and it just auto-closes the chat every time you get to the front of the queue. Have tried about 10 or so times in different browsers, etc.

    • +1

With this updated chatbox I've just had to wait past the "Done" message to be connected to the next available agent.
Edit: you're right. You need to use a browser you don't use, and hopefully the picture of a woman will pop up in the bottom right with their new chat system "Live chat with Samsung People" which provides wait times/positions. Old seems to be deprecated.

Edit2: Definitely broken. Just booted from hold. Far out.

  • Does the trade-in bonus still apply even if you don't send in the device?

    • Yes. (At your own risk.)

    • +2

Yes, they will charge you the trade value and $60 admin if you dont send it without taking the bonus back, unless that's changed in the last 2 months but doubt it.

  • Thanks Op for a detailed post!

  • Is this a good deal without trade in?

    • I'd wait until an extra $50 off with the email subscription code working. There's no reason it shouldn't be, except a bug (as per usual from Samsung shop).

    • just dont send it in

      • +2

i traded in my S10 last October for z3 flip. They said they were gonna send me a return parcel to ship my old phone to them and they never did. I emailed them about it and again they said they gonna send me a return label and again they never did. I never got charged anything extra. now i have an old s10 sitting in my draw collecting dust.

        • mine monero on it for a cool 20c a day

          • +1

@Jazza2400: Yo thats $73 a year. In 10 years time I can buy a new phone and then I can use my current one to mine for another 20 years and repeat.

            • +1

@michaelTito: You will have an empire of 5 phones to hand down when you die.

  • Are they going to accept my S8plus? It is working fine but it has dead pixel on the corner.

    • Get an appraisal by entering your device here.

    • just say its perfect condition, and dont send it in..

  • Do you reckon there will be better deals for this in a few months?

Also does anyone know what the price comes to if you don't send your device in?

    • +1

      Probably not from other retailers.
Not sending device in, +$60 admin fee & device value. That's if they even notice.

  • Does anyone have the list and cost of trading devices?

  • Look like a good deal, thinking got my Ultra 521 for 1k3 is not too bad

  • It seems like they put a hold on the total trade in amount on your credit card now instead of after 7 days

    • Yes they do, to ensure you can pay the non-return fee. In my experience they haven't actually proceeded with the charge.

  • +2

Interesting… EDS voucher is worth $100 when applied to the S22 series and $200 on the S21 series.

So FYI for those interested, you can also do this same process for the S22 (base model will be $749 after discounts) and S21+ ($999), thanks to the current $350 and $400 trade in discounts on offer.

    • +1

Might be worth someone posting! As long as Samsung gets their crap together people without promo codes can get this.

    • +1

Hey mate, sorry I’m new to this so do you mind telling what EDS voucher is? And can you use it on buy any product/ accessories or just limited to phone?

      • +1

It's just a type of voucher you can request from the chat - see the main post for instructions on how. It seems to only work for the S22 and S21 line ups, no success in applying to tablets for me.

        • +1

          Thanks mate.

  • -2

found S21 FE to be significantly more sluggish than S21+

  • +1

Forgive my ignorance, but can some one explain what the EDS stands for? (Education store?)

And can these further $200 off codes work with the Fold3?

    • Don't know what it stands for. Works at normal store only.

Try it out, may be only $100.

      • Thanks, chat only gave a $100 code for the regular samsung site.

Might have to try again with the EDU site..

        Anyone tried with the EPP?

  • If you get an EDS or loyalty voucher can you use it on a tablet or does it have to be a phone?

    • +1

I got a loyalty voucher last week that worked for the S8 when I asked ($100). Didn't end up using it as I bought through the edu store.

      • Edited. Read the post fully and my question was answered. My bad

  • Any idea if Exynos or snapdragon for this S21 FE 5G?

  • Your estimated trade in price based on your info is $15^^ until 03.03.22
    LOL

    • That means a smaller hold on your credit card.
Rather good value for an older/damaged phone with the bonus.

      • am I missing something? Doesn't it mean they'll give me $15 for my S20 with cracked screen?

        • +1

          Plus bonus 250 bonus credit.
Most of the benefit I imagine is the bonus credit, not the trade in valuation

Too bad my Huawei p20 pro isn't valid :/

  • Trade In bonus is only showing $200 for me hmm

    • Thanks, honestly nothing is working on their website atm. I've flagged to the mods to unpublish this for the moment.

      • They really need to fix their site lol there's been complaints in other deals about issues too

        • Good reason to go with JB. I used their $450 trade-in bonus stacked with discounted GC.

          • @Techie4066: Can you still keep your device with JB HiFi?

            • @yanyan1: Nop.

              • @Techie4066: Haha thought that'd be the case. I'll have to stick with Samsung's shoddy website when it's working again, oh well.

              • @Techie4066: But if you don't send it will they charge something?

  • +1

I got an EDS Voucher but is only $100, do you have to specify a $200 one?

    • +1

To be honest with you, Samsung has been chopping and changing with their rules the past month so no one really knows.

    • I think it depends on the mobile. 100$ for S22+ and $200 for S21 i guess.

  • +10

I wouldn’t buy again from the Samsung store. Been waiting for weeks for a delivery what was supposed to show two weeks ago and if you call they hang up and if you do a online chat they close the chat without even saying anything. Also they have a tracking button but the third party shipping company has no tracking. Absolutely useless fools.

    • I would really hate that. these days decent customer service (usually call center) is so hard to find, so sad.

  • My wife has a galaxy S10 with a crack in the screen. Samsung offered $0.
I had an old galaxy S8 in the drawer in good condition and Samsung offered $5.
Because the trade in amount was over $0 I got the $350 discount so that worked out good so I got the wife a galaxy S22

  • +2

Chat with them and got only $100 to use on regular website. Won't be able to use it on edu/gov store

    • +1

chat with them today and was told that only the $50 sign up offer is available.

  • -1

Samsung website still says get $250 bonus off trade in.

    Is the deal back on???

    • Thats for S22 series only. $250 bonus trade in credit for S22U, $200 for S22+ and $150 for S22.

It says bonus credit $250 OFF towards Samsung S21 FE ends 31-3-22

        • I just tried trade-in offer by adding S21FE in cart, but it doesn’t give any bonus offer on it. Probably old T&C not yet updated by Samsung.

          • @OZBsince2018: Maybe that's why I asked, I don't know how to do trade in offer, never done one before

  • +2

It's working fine now.. I ordered one today for $550

$999 - 200$ discount with CDS voucher and 250$ discount with trade

  • +1

    Ordered the S21FE - $549 :)
First chat agent wouldn't give me the EDS code, second agent gave me the code straight away.
Pity it doesn't stack with the $50 newsletter voucher :(

  • +4

Following the advice of ozBargainers, I hopped onto the Samsung store and received a great discount on the S21 FE.

For me, I made use of the education store (any .edu.au email address grants you access) for 20% off.

I also made use of the $50 mailing list signup voucher, bringing my total down to $829.20 for the 256GB model (without trade in).

What I learnt: loyalty discounts cannot be applied in the education store, but it is easy to receive these via email. Just share photos of your current phone (or anyone's phone for that matter), claim it is broken, and ask for a voucher to help purchase a new samsung phone. Send a short email to [email protected] and you can expect a response within a day or less (this may vary for some).

I received two vouchers by doing this (with two email addresses and two phones), but have no use for them as they do not work on the education store. The first I will give away is worth $100-300, depending on the model you purchase. If you make use of this, please comment on this post to let people know it has been claimed.
    "
