Sony 8% Cash Back (Was 2.00%) @ ShopBack

160

The best way to take advantage of this cash back is to request price match with the best price you can find from an Aust store selling Aust distributed products (not direct imports). There's a price match request link in Sony online store.
Some people might already have price matched items sitting in their Sony cart, waiting for a decent cash back rate like this.

E.g. Price match this Sony WF1000XM4 deal, with cashback your net cost come down to ~ $291.

  • Off topic but anyone have any thoughts on when the next cashback promotion will be for Sony? Hoping to double up with Shopback or Cashrewards if I’m lucky

  • Yo any good TV deals?

    Looking for 65 to 75

    Thanks!

  • Bit off-topic but has anybody had trouble trying to use the Shopback website lately? I.e. clicking on a shop after searching for it takes you back to the home page?

    • +1

Not me. I have been using it to go to the Sony store fine.

      • Thanks. Probably just me, have noticed similar malfunctions on other websites - might be time to reset Chrome.

  • Hmm… I'm looking at these headphones, they are the same price on the Sony store, the difference between Amazon and Sony is that Amazon will have them at my door step tomorrow morning, and Sony will use regular parcel post which takes about 7-10 days to Perth.

Still, it's ~$30 cashback, and I could ask them to price match this, $365 with free shipping, add on the cashback it's worth the wait to get them from the Sony store I guess.

Edit: have submitted a price match request, anyone know how long they usually take to approve?

    • Or try matching i-tech for $355 before shipping. Sony sometimes don't look at the competitor's shipping cost so you may be able to get that price.

      • Ok, I'll submit a 2nd price match with i-tech and see if they look at the shipping or not :)
i-tech came up in my search results first, but it has $15 shipping on top

      • Both my price matches got rejected. I am not sure exactly why, they just gave generic info:

Thanks for requesting a price match with Sony.
As it falls under an exclusion of our price match terms and conditions, your request has not been accepted.
You can read more about price match terms and conditions on the product page where you requested the price match. You can also read it through the below link:

        • They usually reject MyDeal from my past experience, not sure why i-tech is also, unless they sell imported models as well…

          • @Buy2Much: I tried with a Kogan link for $369, no doubt that'll get rejected too.

            • @bonezAU: Yes them too. Catch as well. I have tried unsuccessfully in the past.

              • @Buy2Much: That doesn't leave me many options then!

I did however just notice that Sony is selling 'seconds' on eBay for $316, I wonder if it's worth taking a punt on those. $300.20 with PLSMAR5 is even sweeter.

                • @bonezAU: They have been cheaper in previous OB deals (both new and seconds). E.g. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/671591
I’d suggest you wait if you can. These cash backs also happen regularly.

                  • @Buy2Much: Thanks, I can see that the silver are already cheaper than the black right now, but will wait until a better deal comes up. Cheers
