    Hold the line boys

    • +4

Shit, I paid 1.8k 3 weeks ago for my 6800xt red devil. Oh well, sold my 1080ti strix for 750 so paid the overprice difference.

      • +2

Is that the Powercolor 6800XT that PCCG is selling for $1629 now?

        • +1

Omg oh crap, yeah that's it. Just had a look. Hahaha.

      • +2

Oof weren't some 6900xt going for close to that?

      • +5

Is Low Hash Rate (LHR). You can dual mine Ethereum and another coin to get the most out of it.

Buying cards to mine ETH is not a great idea though as Ethereum is going proof of stake in three months time (apparently) so no more mining.

      • 3070 Ti is always LHR, same with 3080 Ti, released around mid last year.

It gives you 60 Mh/s approx on ethash. Dual mine is better with 12gb vram, 8gb is bare minimum.

    • Take some inspiration from the Ukraine, definitely HODL the line. Below $1k!

  • +5

If you have a Zip Business Trade Plus account you can apparently get $200 cash back. SO works out at $999

    • +1

Curious what the RRP for this card is ?

      • +2

        $959 AUD I believe.

        • So with the $200 cash back offer it's just above RRP… Cool

        • +3

          Well……

The Ti was just an excuse to try and benefit from the artificially inflated prices. The 3070 non Ti RRP is closer to a realistic RRP for this at $809. And then you have to take into consideration that this is nearing EoL, with the new 4000 card due in Oct, and only sports 8GB of memory, - so I'd say a realistic price is closer to $600 at the moment.

      • +5

That's the real question here with these cards.
Unlike other bargains posted here, you never see the rrp of video card's in the listing, just that it's "cheaper".

I get it; the market is shit, but that's not an excuse. RRP should be posted along with the market price in every listing.

    • +1

That's getting close to my day 1 3070 (non ti) $950 price i paid. NICE!

    • Why? wait 2 weeks and the price will be $999.

  • +3

$959 is the RRP for this card. HODL………

    • +4

Is that the RRP for 'this' card? Or the MSRP for the founders edition card? (Or $AUD equivalent).

    • +4

That's a pretty horrible RRP to be honest, the RRP of the AMD RX 6800 is $949 AUD, with the RX 6800 easily beating the 3070 Ti in rasterisation performance, but it does lack in ray tracing performance.

  • $1000 would be the right price for a 3070TI in my opinion, HODL if you can!

    • +2

Nup, that's still way too much when Lovelace is coming out in September with a ~100%/140% performance increase over Ampere for rasterisation/ray-tracing. HODL!!!

      • Will we this one drop below $1k?

      • +2

But, you'll probably be up for a new PSU at the same time.

        • The 850w rumour is nonsense. Credible leaks are all suggesting an absolute maximum of 550 watts (likely lower) for the 4090, which would be sufficient on a 750w PSU. The 4070/4080 won't need to worry about PSU upgrades.

          • @iseeyou1312: Is that 550W purely for 4090 alone?
If 750W PSU is enough for a PC running a 4090, does that mean a 650W PSU is no problem for a PC running a 3090?

            • @edfoo: If you're not raising power limits, technically 450 watts is enough, presuming you can find a 450w PSU of sufficient quality. 600-650 watts would be good to have so that it's maximising PSU efficiency, but way above what's actually required.

      • Agreed. But it depends if you can afford a 4080 when it comes out around Sept. Odds on, at around $2000.

        • This is an old leak, but the 4090/4080/4070 pricing is set to be $1500/800/550 and the 7900 XT is at $1700 IIRC, all in USD. So the 4080 will launch in Aus for around ~$1400 AUD, less than what 3080s are selling for now.

          • +1

@iseeyou1312: I believe you are correct if the miners don't screw up the GPU market for the gamers again…

            • @edfoo: It's looking like the ETH merge is going to be delayed until at least September, but mining profits should keep falling so I can't imagine it'll have much of an impact, but only time will tell.

  • +1

    cheers bought one.

These look great actually, i have a 3080ti vision. Thermal pads not that great but easily trade these with gamers who want to upgrade their FHR cards.

      • +3

Flipped most of them at the peak already. Winter is coming. I want a free heater.

        • +2

Smart, you flipped most of the ex-mined GPU to less fortunate and get the brand new untainted for yourself.

          • @[Deactivated]: That seems unethical. But it's the buyers loss.

            • @maverickjohn: Unethical would be the people purchasing, can't blame a merchant for filling a niche. Other than those who need one to keep their rig running, if people stood together and didn't purchase from scalpers then they wouldnt exist. Doesn't matter if it's buying from scalpers or gold sellers, eating tuna from China, or Sydney traffic, there's always a percentage who care little about the long term impact of their decisions so long as they fulfill their immediate desires.

  • +2

    HODL

  • +3

    HODL

  • So why are the prices dropping?

    • +4

Crypto currencies are dropping in value. Cost of mining is higher. Not worth mining, less demand for cards, price coming back down to normal levels.

  • +2

    HODL

  • Think its time to sell my 6700XT to prep for going back to nvidia

    • +7

Why not just wait for next gen? 6700xt is still a very solid card

      • -2

I'm usually 1 gen behind. Had a 2070 which i sold for like 950 and bought the 6700xt for 1k. I'm q mvidia fan but for that price i gave amd a go. I don't really play much. Last 2 years I have only played warzone with some friends so spending cash on the new gen doesn't justify it.

        • +3

What are you a "fan" over?
I mean, I get being a Sony fan, or a Nintendo fan. But GPU's are just hardware.

Sell if you need the dosh - but I wouldn't be getting caught up on which brand GPU you buy. I promise neither company cares about you - just your money.

  • Holding my wallet.

  • +10

HODL with my EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti!!!

    • +5

      Nice!
      HODL for 4xxx with my ASUS 1060 6gb !!

      • nah (profanity) that just buy a GPU and enjoy it

  • +4

The vision is a nice clean looking gpu

    • +2

Yeah prefect for a white build

      • +1

        but Black build matters?

        • +3

          Don’t forget RGB rights too

      • +1

Yeah, I have a white build and this would look awesome. Not paying $1200 for a GPU though, still running a 1070.

  • +2

it's getting so tough to hodl

    • +1

Think about how 8gb isnt enough and is already being hit by games at 1440p, let alone 4k.

Thats what stops me from buying :)

  • +2

About what I paid for my 3080 at launch

  • +2

Prices dropping weekly if not daily…hold still?

I think you've answered your own question. If you don't desperately need it now, wait. Still good money on the table to keep in your pocket. A couple hundred bucks for a month or two is worth the wait.

    • for some, yes

  • +3

the wall of gpu's, its closer than ever!

    https://i.redd.it/hsrcl8by65e81.gif

  • The rumours keep building that nVidia is releasing a 16GB version of the 3070ti priot to Intel's A700 series Arc comes out (which will be 3070 speeds and 16GB RAM), so this could be clearing the pipeline before that hits.

It would make sense, nVidia beefed up their laptop line last month due to the impending Arc notebook release (which is meant to be this month) by adding a 3070ti and 3080ti version, and the desktop release of Arc should be a in a couple of months.

    • Rumors said 16GB version has been cancelled.

      • Are these new rumours? The 3080 12GB was supposedly cancelled in December too yet we have it now.

DRAM prices are down at the moment, seems an odd time to cancel it.

  • +1

    hodl

    • +3

Wth… Seriously someone is really making new accounts just to say HODL.

      Lol the desperation.

      Account created one hour ago

      • hahahahah, I wonder if there's an account called HODL…

        • There is now

  • +1

Can someone let me know if this card will support my double ultrawide (1440p) setup for gaming. Is there enough VRAM?

    • +1

      I'm running a 1 x 1080 and 2 x 4k monitors off my 1070, I think this can handle a dbl ultrawide no problem …

    • Easily I'd say.

    • +1

depends on the game but my 2060 super ventus works fine for 2x Dell 1440p @ 165 Hz (but don't use both for gaming due to the centre bezel).

    • Agree on depending on the what games you plan to play.

  • Something like this (or the non-Ti version) would be an alright upgrade for my 2060 super before the end of financial year, and sell while not too old and can get decent money etc. No rush and don't want to pay more than retail, and preferably less so no rush. The 2060 super still goes great for the couple of games I play now and then, and productivity.

Ps not sure if the longer 3 fan cards actually fit in my meshify C anyway.

  • Over double what I'd pay for this but if you need it…

    • +1

How and when did you get your 3070Ti for under $600?

      • +2

He said what he'd pay, he doesn't own one now.

The only way he's getting one for $600 is when the 5000 series come out in 2026

        • Right, gotcha.
I paid just over $600 for my GTX1070 in 2016, but no way I can find this kind of price for a RTX3070 now, or in the next two months when I am building a new PC :(

          • @edfoo: its all downgrading now, looks like were settling for 60s for what 70s used to be.

  • When Bitcoin zero (hopefully in the next year or 2), price automagically $499.

  • People need to understand 1 thing when it comes to nVidia vs AMD, CUDA cores are important for video editing and NLE software.
3060 Ti is almost perfect for Davinci Resolve, but the 3070 Ti at 3060 Ti is brilliant value that can flex a little more.
Given Hackers released info on 4000 series, this could be a possible reason for $ drops as nVidia might want to shift older stock.
I will wait as I find it too late in the game to get a 3000 series when the 4000 is just around the corner.
