In other words it means these have been faulty out of the box or returned from DOA when delivered to customer then sent to a Sony approved repair center then repacked as second .

    • OR they got sick of waiting for the VRR update which has only been recently released

      • +1

it has been released here in Australia?

        • Can confirm its out via firmware upgrade.
I updated my tv last night.

  • I am still very confuse whether that TV stand can be adjusted like the photo? Some said NO

    • Did some say YES

      • But product description photo said YES

        • Oh OKAY

        • I'm turning into jv

          • +1

@b2dz: Hope its not the omicron variant of jv!
            That would be highly contagious.

2 minutes in says 55 inch and up has 2 positions for legs

      • Is that applicable for the Sony Asia model?

    • I think only a certain size can, unless I'm thinking of the H model before this one. Can't remember whether it was 65 or 75.

  • Its this sonys model to have?

    • +3

Nope. The A80J or the A90J is the one to have.

      • Just got my 77" A80J delivered today :D

I have this tv and it's amazing.

We have this in a bright area and have no issues.

Hey question, I've got the 65" - however there are days where the "TV" and the AV(HDMI) channels dont turn on — the Google mode is, however until full power off you dont get any channels including the HDMI.

      Anything like that on yours?
I havent hit up SONY yet as its hard to explain and it'll do it 4 times in a row then nothing for a week then one time then nothing for 5 times - so random…..

Bought one of these in October last year. Major fault out of the box, 5 months later still not resolved. Consumer Affairs helped with the situation, but ultimately Sony has been screwing me.

    • What was the fault?

      • +2

TV wouldn't turn on most of the time. Not from the remote, not from the power button on the underside of the TV. Could sometimes get it on by cycling a manual factory reset (turn off at the socket outlet, hold power button, turn back on etc.)

        • I have the exact same issue. Not only on my 75" but also on my 65". Sony has replaced both the main board & the power board on the 65" and it has been working fine for the last week.
75" will need its main board replaced also has wifi issues also. Picture however is great.

    • Sony seem to have garbage QC.
When you get one that works, it works great. When you don't it's rubbish and like pulling teeth to get it sorted

  • This or the QN90A / QN85A?

    • I would like to know too!

    • I'll vote for QN85A

      • Why would you list the qn85a? It's an inferior model to the qn90a. I heard it had a few issues that the qn90a resolved. Anyway, when I had a look at the the qn90a and the Sony x95J at jbhifi, the Sony looked better to me but the guy at jbhifi recommended the Samsung. It was hard to tell because they were playing the manufacturers garbage on each of them so hard to compare side by side. Rtings lists the Samsung qn90a slightly better.

    • I don't think Sony has made mini-Led tech yet, so I would go with the Samsung Neo QLED's over Sony Bravia's

      • If cost isn't an issue

  • This or a brand new 75X85 for the same price?

  • LiL … the E, F and G models are still better then the new ones …maybe next year sony…you'll go back to the future and get it right.

  • Any 65" seconds of this model around?

    • +1

I posted them this week. They sold out within a day. Keep an eye out on those 2 links in this post. They usually restock 1-2 so insufficient quantity to create a new post.

      • Thanks for that 👍

    Bought it, thanks!

How much value do I put in this being a Sony "Authorized" repair/factory second vs other factory seconds vendors?

I feel if I'm just rolling the dice on a factory second something like this is better value

First thing to do is check the warranty T&Cs for each. Whichever one is more assuring to you.

  • Has anyone on here had a good or bad experience with the sony tv seconds ? Interested, but also nervous based on quick google.

    • +3

I currently have a Sony Seconds from eBay which is a 65" KD X7500D

When I got it there seemed to be no issues what so ever, I then noticed a couple of very small dead pixels which never really bothered me as they were that small you would have to look very hard for them and only on white.

I then discovered Bluetooth was not really working well, so I opened up the back and found a cable had been broken so it wasn't really connected to the card so I reconnected it to make it functional and still working fine now since then.

Its all hit and miss with 2nds, my neighbor bought the same TV a few months later but the TV Stand they gave him seemed to be for another model as the wholes just would not line up to fix the screws so Sony sent him another stand.

Would up certainly consider buying another 2nd but should there be any issues, make sure you check your TV unit fully and all connections, ports, screen, tuner and functions as soon as you get or receive it and should you have problems, get right onto Sony ASAP should you find or have any gripes.

Not sure if buying a 65" X90J is a good choice or waiting for a K but certainly time will tell.

      • Thanks for taking the time to reply and describe your experience, really appreciated.

Bought a 75" TV from Sony seconds once on eBay. Was meant to only have damage that wouldn't be able to tell (like scratches on back). When arrived it had a 30 degree bend of display across 1/6th of the screen and broken stand. Of course that meant all sorts of other problems too (warping, light bleed, broken frame), even though TV worked. Return process and getting $ back was a nightmare. Would need to be a 75% or more discount for me to try again, it's a con. Got a better discount at HN when had a sale straight after I got my money back for a perfect new 75" TV. (Been waiting ages for a chance to complain, an OzBargain listing of TV made me bite in the first place, really was terrible experience)

      • That sounds like a terrible experience :( glad you eventually got it sorted. Found similar complaints on whirlpool, seems like its really down to luck. They should atleast back the seconds by decent service, to get hit by poor form on both sux.

      • Hi JustinHardie,

Well I made the mistake and gave in to a sale on this anyway (as per another thread where I am now venting). But well the TV sux and is clearly not usable.

I would love to understand how you got them to return it, as so far its moving at glacial speed. I don't want this to drag out & I just want it gone + to move on and forget about the whole experience.

Can you PM me ? Thx

    • I was going to pull the trigger and purchase this TV but after reading the comments above I'm not skeptical. Not sure what to do now

  • Price is now $2699 less $100 coupon so $2599. Must have been selling well at $2249!

    • A few other Sony items I looked at went up in listed prices too..

  • A little off topic but do you think TVs will be in sale in stores this long weekend in Melbourne?

  • Anyone here had one of these delivered? If so what is the condition of the TV?
