This deal is back again. New customers, open a reward saver with IMB, deposit $50 and keep until the end of the promo period to get a $50 bonus.

Terms and conditions apply. Previous bargain hunters indicate this can be a bit of a painful journey to get your free dollars; delayed sign up process, missing emails, broken apps etc, but hey, if you're willing to give it a go, $50 is $50.

For reference, I signed up yesterday, got my welcome email today, sent my $50 today (via standard transfer as OSKO fails with IMB for some reason).

    Should I give it a shot? I got my previous bonus just fine.

    • It won't or they will use it to reject your bonus ..I for whatever unknown reason became a member of them without any account, service open many years ago (of course only was told when I chased my bonus) and they even gave me a new membership last Dec, but it doesn't count… no energy to debate for $50 so I let it go..

    • I signed up during the MINI fiasco in 2017, took them to the Ombudsman, got my bonus, then closed the account. I signed up in Dec 2021 for this offer for new customers and got my $50.

    I scored $100 in their last promo.

    OSKO won't work until you have completed a full id, ie: visited a branch, or sent in stat decs.
    Until then deposit from your bank's website, not app, and use the pay anyone option.
    No problems withdrawing after bonus is credited to your new account.

  • Not worth it. I tried this last time and there was an extreme amount of rigmarole to transfer money into the account. After 15 minutes on the phone to discover something that wasn't made clear on the website, I abandoned ship due to it being way more trouble than it was worth.

    • Same, went to the Glen Waverly branch today and opened the account there, quite a pleasant account opening experience and everything is set up and OSKO pay is also enabled because I opened it in a branch.

      • No option for me. None in SA

  • Transfer from BoM (Westpac) failed today. I think because it was using Osko, like was noted by MadMud. Thankfully no problems with NAB.

    • Transfer from ING failed as well - technical error. Worked with ANZ.

      Also where do I find my Member Number to register for internet banking?

      And the end of the sign up I was just presented with my BSB and Account Number, and sent an SMS for the password?

        Member number comes in an email. I received my email the day after signing up.

  • Over 5 days after opening the account online I finally get the email informing me of the member number.

    This has been a crap experience! Having created a new account and jumping through a few challenge hoops to do so,things went further downhill from there. I transferred funds from my Citibank account. I have only now realised some weeks later that the transfer was made from Citibank BUT deposit REJECTED by IMB Bank.I rang IMB,hung on hold forever,explained my specific issue only to be told that there was absolutely no reason for any problem.I have since tried again,but it bounced back again with identical problem. Rang Citibank who told me that IMB account was blocked. Have today rang IMB who only now tell me that i have to physically attend a branch ( nearest branch nowhere near me ) to complete 100 point ID check before the account can be unblocked and used for either deposits or withdrawals. NO MENTION ANYWHERE OF THIS PRIOR TO TODAY.

    So that means as they didn't inform me of requirement to attend the branch,my deposits were rejected by them. As the 7 days period has since expired the $50 bonus offer is not valid or payable. I am going to go with my gut feel,and quit now to minimise any more headache.

    • I do not understand that, if they require you to complete 100 point ID, shouldn't this be advised when you first applied your account online? Or in my case, my application was declined straight away as they could not verify me electronically. After the deposit was rejected then tell you this was pretty awful.

      Also, I would avoid using Citi accounts for any domestic transfers as they are the worst of the worst.
