When I’ve had a write off of a day at work I like to sit down after work with a family pack of Tim tams, a tall glass of ice cold zymil and season 1 to 10 of Simpsons.

Thanks WN, will grab some next aldi trip.

    Hey Nerd, I'm Watching you.

  • What dullard does ALDI have in charge of making the catalogue?

This deal is taken from the 'coming soon' catalogue. It is not taken from the current catalogue, but what is next week's catalogue.

Look at the current catalogue ( which was released on Wed 2 March and effective to 8 March) and it includes super savers that were on sale until 1 March.

Why do they advertise savers that have ended?

Go to the 'Super Saver' tab on their website, and you can not even find them at all.

    • Might explain why they haven't been delivered to stores until tonight, may have needed reprinting.

      • I think it is consistent though. I have seen in the past that you have to look in next weeks catalogue for this week's specials, so stupid.

Maybe it isn't even a special?

Is this the normal price? They don't mention how much you are saving.

That's another thing that annoys me. They put stuff in the super saver section, and sometimes they don't even mention the original price. So how is it a saver?

    • I just checked the website for the current catalogue which was released On Wednesday and the super savers are 2-8.

Not sure which bit you are referring too?
The previous catalogue which had supersaves until the 1st has this week's special buys.

Special buys are advertised for the following week

      • Can you find the above page in the current catalogue? Page 23

No. You have to look at 'Coming Soon' version.

Yes, they have some savers marked 8 March, but not all.

        • Yes it's On the last page.

I believe you are confused with what is the "current" catalogue.

The current catalogue will also display the supersaves for that week and the special buys for the following week.

The thermo Mix which Is On sale for next week is the current catalogue.

          • @MrrMagic: I think you are wrong.

The current 'On Sale' catalogue has a guy with gym equipment on the front page.

The catalogue with a mixer on the front page is the 'coming soon' catalogue.

I cannot find this mentioned page in the catalogue with the gym guy, I have to look in the one with the mixer.

By the time that mixer catalogue becomes the 'On Sale' catalogue, the week is over.

How can anyone think this makes sense?

The 'current catalogue' is the one that is the default option when searching for catalogues. Thats what i consider current (and would assume most others would as well). The default option is the guy with gym stuff.

        • As for the pricing all supersaves except fresh produce & meat have the WAS price and the saving. This is the case for the other major supermarkets aswell.

Items like these timtams aren't supersaves, they aren't regular lines. They are just specials until sold out

          • @MrrMagic: Seems pretty strange. There is nothing stopping them showing 'was' and 'now' price for fresh produce.

If they are specials and not regular items, why aren't they in special buys?

I cannot find these in either of the 'Super Saver' or 'Special Buys' pages on their website. Why make it so hard to find?

Tim Tams have 44.8% sugar and 26.9% fat.
Mint Slice has 42.7% sugar and 29.2% fat.
    OP is a 100% killjoy

    • Exactly, if the TimTams were 26.9% sugar and 44.8% fat then, it would be a lot healthier

If I want to make a really unhealthy sandwich, do I put the mint slice between 2 tim tams or do I put a tim tam between 2 mint slices? Asking for a friend.

  • Family pack of double coated or gtfo

    • Don't think they are ever going to do that.

You would think there would be demand, and would only be a small change in manufacturing process, but they only have the larger pack in original.

This is where it’s at, double coat or they sit on the shelf

Only really good deal to me at aldi was their 3L handsoap for 6.99

  • -2

I'm never going to buy them again with that amount of sugar .
BTW I never read the package info and only found out here :)

    • -1

Really? The amount of sugar was some sort of surprise… Did you think it was weight watchers recipe this whole time?

  • I like the knock off Aldi mint slices better than the real thing.

  • Get the best of both worlds by apply a generous amount of toothpaste on top of a Tim Tam.

This is a yet to be discovered food hack.

    • Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

  • Cochineal is an insect ingredient. They use this in the tim tam.

    • Wow so you mean I'll have free insect repellent in my body to ward off evils and her sweet tastyness?

    • We should be eating more insects anyway. It's the food crop of the future. Is that kosher enough for you Habib?

  • I use to eat the mint slices quite a lot sometimes eat a whole pack or two in one sitting

    Obviously not a good idea

Noticed they were affecting my bowel movements pretty badly. Did anyone else yet any bowel problems? Even half a pack didn't seem to agree with me.

    • You might have an allergy to mint, and even a mild one to chocolate. Quite common.
