[Switch] Pokémon Shining Pearl $48, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond $58, Pokémon Legends: Arceus $58 + Del ($0 C&C) @ Harvey Norman

740

Good prices on these latest Pokémon releases. I’m unsure why the price difference for Shining Pearl vs Brilliant Diamond but you accept it when it happens. Hopefully JB Hi-Fi and EB Games will price match if you are not near a Harvey Norman and want to avoid delivery cost.

AmazonAU have price matched - Thanks for posting RichardL

Price matched at local EB. Ty op

    • No problem, your welcome.

      • Are you guys Jay bros?

  • Wow nice find, thanks! I've been looking into getting Brilliant Diamond since I got Pearl on the original release … but maybe I'll settle for Shining Pearl at this price.

    • No problem, yeah it would of been great if Brilliant Diamond had of matched Shining Pearl. If you enjoyed the original you’ll still enjoy these remakes.

  • If they could do Halo Infinite for $68 that would be nice!

  • Do they have any discount code for signing up to newsletter or something?

    • Not that I’m aware of.

Good price for Arceus. Highly recommended if you're a fan of the series. Graphics are a bit janky, but I found the game play enjoyable.

    • +3

I loved Legends Arceus! I’m looking forward to Pokémon Scarlet/Violet after seeing the trailer!

    • why is there so much hate online for this game?

      • +4

Its gameplay sometimes feels buggy and everything from graphics to movement feels janky like op mentioned but I don't think there's really that much hate vs praise is there? Would've been nice if they spent an extra year or smth on it but it's a good step towards changing the series up

        Pokemon fans are never happy.

        • +5

I don't blame them when gamefreak tries to take half a step forward and 3 steps back.

Also backed by one of the largest company. The main issue is that games are rushed to match with anime, tcg, merchandise and cannot afford to delay and polish.

It seems whenever any franchise gets big enough there's always a subset of loud potatoes that make the whole fandom seem like whingey babies.

      • +2

Genuinely, I can't understand. Pokemon games since about X and Y have generally been poor, but Arceus Legends really smashes it out of the park in terms of gameplay, and even difficulty.

I think my understanding of the hate is that the player base of gamers has become so large, that you're bound to find a large variety of opposing opinions on absolutely everything.

        • i've played most pokemon versions up to X&Y, usually to speedrun with broken pokemon(my version is to jack the emulator speed up to 200-1000% speed), but lost interest and couldn't finish X&Y

at some point the new interface/mechanics become so foreign that its too far departed from earlier/original versions, that's a problem a lot of games have

just look at dota, freaking icefrog changes the game completely every single year to 'keep it fresh', imagine you're trying to compete in basketball and every year someone decides to change the size of the ball, court, scoring rules etc. its like no bro i would like to not completely lose all that time i spent training to climb the skill curve

        • Basically this honestly.

There are so many of us who have played since Gameboy and Gameboy Colour days that there is a massive following, and not all views are unified and it turns out similar to COVID or politics views.

    • Agree, loving the open world nature and gameplay, spent a solid 20 hours just in the first area catching pokemon than actually progressing the storyline. Though pretty disappointed with the graphics considering it's a AAA title for the Switch and what BOTW showed us could be done.

  • Pokémon Shining Pearl + Pokémon Legends: Arceus(harveynorman.com.au) - For 106$. Seems very enticing. Sinnoh was one of the most enjoyable generations and Platinum is one of my favorite Pokemon games (after HG/SS).

I'm surprised there hasn't been any anti Gerry Harvey comments lately in these Harvey Norman deals LOL

We're too busy price-matching at EB/ JB, probably.

      • Update: turns out I'm the busy one, just successfully price-matched at EB.

        • My local eb only price matches stores in the same westfield & they have to make sure stocks are avail. Is that different elsewhere?

          • @tajid: It'll differ from store to store.

At my local, the closest Harvey Norman is a 10-minute drive. Only needed to show the Harvey Norman product page on my phone, no stock check needed.

Shame they don’t offer price protection, I ordered last night for what seemed like a good price

    • Can always return or chat with CS. They may be nice enough to refund the difference. Their CS is much superior to ebay's.

    • Thanks for letting me know. I have credited you in the post.
