Was literally about to pull the trigger on this for my PS5 but I paid a little extra for the WD drive with a heat sink

2tb pny 3040 with Heatsink from amazon us only $329

      • I was looking at YouTube reviews and a lot of people saying they didn’t get the full read speeds - I can’t be bothered shagging around so that’s what turned me off there.

I did mull it over for a long time, seems it will fit with that heat sink if you don’t put the cover back on, which I can’t see as an issue if you don’t use it standing.

    • Oh nice

Do you have a link for that one?

    • do you have the link?

  • is this one slc or tlc

    • TLC.
If you want MLC (if that is what you meant by SLC as there are hardly any modern SLC drives out their for regular consumers), you can get 970pro

The SSD gods are getting close to the pricing I'm gonna need. Muhhahahahaha

  • Wonder can one get sequential read speeds up to 7,000 mb/s if this is placed on a motherboard that is a non PCIe 4.0 board and how about the second m.2 port in a PCIe 3.0 motherboard, I'm really interested to know 👍

    • No, one could only expect PCIe 3.0 performance and the second m.2 port is likely to be slower depending on the board. Only high end boards or laptops have 2 or more full speed m.2 ports. The second and beyond is usually x4 or less, and not x16.
