So… When does it start? I joke. I joke.

    Thanks for negotiating the deals.

  • -1

    oOOS! Joke. Thanks

  • Op, how many max displays does the desktop support?

    • four = 1 hdmi, 3 displayport

      • would it works for 5 monitors - 4 GPU + 1 Onboard?

        • Can't say this for sure, but in my experience outputting simultaneously from integrated and discrete GPUs might not work.

  • +2

Just check the delivery times. Most stuff is +1 month or more.

    • +6

I found its just an inflated delivery date and normally dispatched in two or three days from the last deal

    • place my order on the 21st of Feb, dispatched via express on the 24th and received today on the 25th

      • That's good to hear. I ordered 23rd Feb so hopefully will be dispatched soon.

    • As mentioned by the other users, i find with Dell ebay orders they have long estimates but typically arrive within a week,

      • Hasn't been dispatched yet +5 days.

        Fingers crossed soon

  • +1

In last deal S2722QC was delivered in 7 days.

    • +2

      Deal starts at 5pm

    • +2

The price will be updated from 5pm this afternoon.

  • damn, my purchase of Dell 27 4K UHD USB-C Monitor - S2722QC just delivered yesterday for $399.

    • Yeah i ordered one Monday for 399 too

      • Same! :(

        • I successfully negotiated to get a partial refund of $30.
maybe you guys can try your luck

  • +1

Hmm, would've preferred a 34' ultrawide. How is the 32' though?

    • It's not a IPS panel, it's a VA panel, so if your gaming, the field of view is not as good and the response time is generally lower, but contrast is better.

    • +3

You should be aware that the S3222HS is a 1080p monitor, so the pixel density (effectively "sharpness" of image) is a lot worse than the 34" options from Dell.

Also, at 75Hz it's not spectacularly well suited to gaming at that resolution either, as even modestly gaming-capable systems will likely be able to exceed 75 fps with a satisfactory balance of detail and performance with many modern games.

For casual PC or console gaming, it's definitely a big screen at a reasonable price though, but there's probably better options especially for PC as that 1080 resolution will be kind of awful if you're sitting at all close to the screen. Likewise for desktop/office use - text would be somewhat blocky and pixelated, and despite the size, you won't fit all that much on the screen compared to higher res options.

      • It should be ok to use as a TV though? It has speakers

        • Probably OK for a TV I guess, no idea how good the speakers are though.

    • I want the U2723QE but you never see u series on sale.

  • +1

possible to have a deal with 3080 ?

    • and purchase limit of 1 so scalpers aren't buying them all

  • Damn, I just paid $399 for s2722qc, said delivery end of march, but have got track info, will arrive probably tomorrow.

  • Looks like a decent price for the XPS desktop

    • +1

Not a deal now since GPU price is dropping:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/684513

      • would be dope if it now comes with RTX 3080 Ti instead

        • RTX 3080 shall satisfy most gamers unless you want 4K max settings with high fps.

      • -1

Exactly, when so many better prebuilt deals out and in coming weeks will be even better, at $2299 this XPS seems too much now … Try harder next time to bring it down under $2k please.

      • Ddr5 32gb ram though

        • +1

No big difference between DDR4 and DDR5 at the moment. Wait for iterations of DDR5 til next year and the price will come down eventually.

      • Does anyone have a parts picker breakdown of the components Dell uses in these machines? Curious as to how much we're actually saving compared to buying the components individually.

Is the pc in the link worth the $300 extra over this Dell? RAM: 16gb (Techfast) vs 32gb (Dell); 750W psu vs 500W; RTX 3080 vs RTX 3070

        • Imagine you trade 32GB DDR5 with better PSU and 30% more powerful GPU. Also you have better upgradability while Dell uses custom parts in PSU and motherboard to stop you from doing this.

          • @BennyHe2018: I'm not a massive gamer so 30% better GPU isn't a huge factor. Price wise, do you think this Dell XPS deal is good value? GPU prices seem to be dropping and with zen 4 around the corner, prices could get a lot better later in the year, right?

            • +1

@boomersgold: It was before but definitely avoid Dell's prebuilt now. Dell warranty is only 1 year while DIY parts can provide longer than that. You can upgrade the warranty but that is extra cost on top.

Best strategy should be DIY a rig with i5 12400 or i7 12700 having iGPU and wait the GPU price dropping to a certain price you expect.

  • AW2721D coming back in stock on eBay?

  • Damn, just bought two S2722QC last week.

  • +1

Hey @dealbot Can you negotiate with dell to bring back the 12900K 3080 deal?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/678755

    • +1

No stock. Looking at March at the earliest.

      • +1

        Thanks for your reply.
        March is next week! :D

        • +1

I should say the March Dell ebay promo to be exact.

          • @Taegukgi: How’s that looking now? :D

  • I guess S2722QC doesn't have the capability to daisy chain another 4K monitor (via USB-C | DP port)
Any experience in this area as I'm trying to find solution for work MS Surface 4 laptop with only 1 USB-C port to connect 2x 4K monitors

    • +2

I had the same issue and you're right, S2722QC does not have daisy chain capability. On top of that, if you want to 2 x 4K @ 60hz display, you will need a Thunderbolt dock (or probably DisplayLink capable even though it adds load to the CPU).

      • Please do not mix and match technologies between different products. He has a MS Surface Laptop 4. Are you certain there is Thunderbolt support on that? If not, it doesn't make sense to get a Thunderbolt dock. Getting a Thunderbolt dock which addresses an issue for M1 is not the right way to go about this.

The danger is that when having a Thunderbolt dock running with just USB-C 3.2 level bandwidth, it is essentially a USB-C dock. Even if the laptop is DP 1.4/alt-mode capable, that DisplayLink setup has to allocate sufficient bandwidth for the DisplayLink part to do 4K (coz. it is USB-C without Thunderbolt level of bandwidth). Also, such a dock costs so much it just feels silly. There are USB-C hubs/docks which support multiple displays without DisplayLink. Might be easier to use them. Without proper Thunderbolt support, going for a Thunderbolt dock (designed to milk Apple M1 users) is just wasting money. If Microsoft did actually use Thunderbolt for the 11th gen Intel CPU, the iGPU is capable of doing Thunderbolt daisy chaining, so why bother with DisplayLink? However, I don't think Microsoft put an Intel Thunderbolt chipset in the laptop so it is just USB-C (with alt-mode).

USB-C and Thunderbolt are complicated. The M1 workaround through DisplayLink is unfortunate and honestly is we (consumers) hyping up Apple products too much. Apple should have just provided support for 1 additional external display. I certainly hope Apple will correct this issue in M2. If not, then we know Apple did that intentionally so people would go for M1 Pro / Max or M2 Pro / Max.

        • Annoying. On the other hand, why how many MBA and low end MBP users would want a third display?

    • +2

Forget about doing that. The USB-C (3.2) / alt-mode, even with MST is not capable of doing 2 x 4K @ 60Hz. Microsoft didn't do enough with the laptop. Even if Microsoft did wired the Intel CPU to an Intel Thunderbolt 3/4 chipset, you either need to go for Thunderbolt monitors with daisy chaining support or a Thunderbolt dock (WITHOUT the need for DisplayLink support) because if Microsoft did wire Thunderbolt 3/4, the iGPU in that 11th gen Intel CPU is capable of supporting multiple 4K displays via Thunderbolt through daisy chaining. So it is silly to abandon that and go for the annoying DisplayLink.

If you is willing to go with 2 x 4K/30Hz, you could try one of those USB-C hubs/docks with multiple displays. However, you need to get the version that uses a DisplayPort 1.4 based chipset. I am not recommending any of those products because (1) I do not know whether your Surface 4 laptop supports USB-C/alt-mode DP 1.4. If it is the Intel 11th gen one, then probably yes. If it is AMD… I haven't checked. (2) cannot really tell the hub is the right one without checking the specs carefully.

This is an example one which "might" work (it might NOT work). Again, I stress that it is best not to go down this path (I just randomly searched for one so I don't recommend this product):
      https://www.amazon.com.au/WAVLINK-Docking-Charging-Ethernet-…

Dual 4K at 30Hz isn't ideal and the laptop simply isn't really designed for that. You could go DisplayLink on the USB-A port for a second 4K, but then you have no spare USB-A port. One big reason why going down a hub/dock is a bad idea is that it defeats the purpose of getting a USB-C monitor.

As for why Dell doesn't support USB-C/MST with this, this is a S series monitor. It is meant to be cost effective. USB-C with MST support for this monitor is wishful thinking, especially the U (ultrasharp) series monitor this one is based on doesn't support MST either - and Dell has to remove some other features to sell you the monitor at this price point.

You will find the answer here

      Summary:

      Surface Laptop with i5 or i7 processor Two 60 Hz 2560 x 1600
      Surface Laptop with i5 or i7 processor One 60 Hz 4096 x 2304
      Surface Laptop with i5 or i7 processor Two 30 Hz 4096 x 2304

      • +2

That confirms it is USB-C/alt-mode only, no Thunderbolt support. 2 x 4K is possible but only at 30Hz.

Surface Dock is Microsoft's recommended solution. You "might" be able to find a cheap USB-C hub/dock which happens to do the same. Either way, it defeats the purpose of getting a USB-C monitor since you will be using HDMI ports if you go down such path.

For those that bought the 2722QC for $399 during the current February promo i.e. in the last 5 days, I have some somewhat good news for you.

Please reach out to ebay Dell thru eBay (mod edited) and they will sort out a partial refund for you. I don't know what the amount is but I've been told that Dell ebay (edited) will sort it out.

Best I can do for you guys.

    • +1

You are legend, thanks a bunch, didn't buy it though.

    • Hi! What about if I bought the s3222HS on Sunday? Can i get a partial refund also?

      • So long as it’s in the current February promo. Contact eBay.

    • Do I need to call ebay or just leave a message to them?

      • +2

I would chat to them online.

    • @dealbot I bought the 8950 in the last 3 days! any luck with that love being extended to the 8950 XPS system too?

      • Haven't heard from Dealbot, but asked dell ebay if I could cancel my order (via cancel order) as it only ships in April and re-order the same one with the revised pricing…

Hopefully, they respond positively. This would be my 10 th Dell Ebay purchase ([3 PCs, 7 screens).

      • Dell kindly cancelled my order and I placed a new one.
Apparently My order was already being readied for shipping and they pulled it at the warehouse, so shopping of the 8950 should be faster than estimates

    • Thanks. That's great news. But, I tried contacting eBay through the chat system and they couldn't help. This was their response:

If the seller have advised you that we give price drop differences, then they have definitely mislead you in the wrong way.

Is there a better way of contacting eBay that will give a better chance of receiving the partial refund?

      • As opposed to misleading you in the right way?!

      • +3

Ah sorry. I should say message Dell via ebay i.e. the seller.

"Reach out to Dell through ebay" should be the correct way to say it.

        • +1

All sorted, thanks. Dell provided a partial refund after contacting them through the eBay system.

    • Contacted eBay via chat and they said no. Should I have contacted Dell eBay?

      • +2

        Yes, contact Dell through ebay.

        • Thanks, they refunded me $30 too. I've bought several of these recently so that was nice of them

    • Thank you @dealbot!

    • +1

Thanks @dealbot ! Just contact Dell eBay and got a partial refund.

    • +1

Thanks @dealbot, send a message to dell store. Received refund in just 10 min :).

  • +3

    No deal on S3221QS??

  • Hey OP, looking for a 8950 but don’t need 3070… any lower-end one? 3060 or 3060 ti? Thanks

  • Is this laptop - New Inspiron 15 3505 Laptop AMD Ryzen 5 3450U 8GB RAM 256GB SSD FHD Win11 good at AU $639.20 (after discount) for home office use (no games)?
Is Ryzen 3450U latest and comparable with Intel i5?

    • +2

Old ryzen model, new ones start with 5 series

    • +1

Unfortunately it's 3 generations old now.

      AMD Ryzen Generations

      Year
      2019 - Ryzen 3000
      2020 - Ryzen 4000
      2021 - Ryzen 5000
      2022 - Ryzen 6000

The 3450U would be comparable to an i3 from 2019.

  • Waiting to see if the S2722DGM drops back to 299

Bought the QC before when 369 and returned it as wanted curved and made a boo boo thinking it was… Was looking at too many different monitors haha

  • +1

@Dealbot, you are a legend! Thank you.

  • Hey dealbot can you get a good deal on XPS 13 9310 FHD? It's cheaper on the Dell website even after Ebay 20% off.

  • -1

    Hey @dealbot

    any chance of adding Dell 27 USB-C Monitor - S2722DC ?

  • Ordered the S2722DC for $339 the other day. The 4k version would have been nice, but delivery could be as long as 2 months (!).

    • Dell always lists long delivery times. Took four days for me.

  • +3

S2722QC still showing up as 399, am I holding it wrong?

    • +2

      Same here

    • +1

Depends on what you are holding…😬

  • +1

Still showing at $399 once added to cart and code applied @ 5:03pm AEDT?

    *Edit - Working @ 5:10pm

  • +2

    Prices haven't changed 😕

PS. Asking someone to perform a task at a place like Dell at 5pm on Friday is asking too much I think. 😬

    • I just added the dell 27" to cart. Put in the code PSDETCH and is about to get charged $369

I did not go ahead with it just tested the code and it works.

  • +1

    Got it now

  • Working now thanks.
