I'm not sure this will pass as a new deal as they regularly seem to change from $10 - $30 for referrer/referee but either way congrats on your first post and keep looking for those great deals we all crave as OzBargainers lol

  • I signed up but only got $10 not sure what's wrong

    • I think @gotyourback can help you with this.

    • Hey mate, could you please send an email to [email protected] regarding this issue.
Our team are aware of an error causing some users to receive $10, not $20.
They will manually add the additional $10 for you.

      Cheers!

      • Do they actually "help" people?
I replied to an email requesting more information, and didn't hear anything since…that was a week ago! haha.

I invited 1, he is even using shopback… I never got my 40$. Wasted time contacted them. It was refused, then approved. But did not receive reward

ShopBack referrals are a waste of time. I referred my missus and after she met the spend requirements ($20) and waited for all to be confirmed (nearly 3 months), ShopBack rejected the referral bonus for both of us. Reason - both accounts were used on the same device. They expect couples living together to NOT use the same laptop/iPad or maybe even get a different internet connection (IP address tracking). Done with ShopBack and their excuses.

        Same situation… Shopback dramas…

        Hi @elecpurch,

As mentioned in our recent DM conversation:

There is sufficient enough evidence for our team to believe that you may be running a referral scheme here to benefit from our program.
If this is the case, I would strongly advise you to stop doing so if this is the case.
We reserve the right to close any suspicious accounts and forfeit their Cashback if they are seen to be breaking our T&C's.

If you believe that this is an error, you will need to reply to my colleague's email with evidence of individual ownership of the account.
        This typically includes phone bills/statements.

I explained to you what happened in your case and how we can see that 4 of your referrals share the same info/devices as your main account.
I don't think it's fair to blame ShopBack here.

        Cheers.

Don't care about other referrals as my friends might not have completed their part. Can't force them to! Did my best to sign them on and from there they should be able to take care of them selves. I did not even follow up for the referral bonus on their accounts. But my partner and I know about her referral as we literally live under the same roof. Partner did not like being labelled a fraud so she has not even touched nearly $30 confirmed cashback. Just trying to warn others before they go through all the hustle to meet the requirements plus wait for the cashback to be confirmed. If you still decide to take your chances then I suggest that you peeps use different computers and your neighbors internet :D

      • I had exact same thing/drama. they rejected the referral bonus & even threaten to cancel our other confirmed cashbacks and terminate our accounts.

        • Both accounts, Same device?

    • Hi @zane, if you could DM me with your account email I'd be happy to take a look at what's happened here.

      Thanks!

    • Contacting Shopback Customer "Service" is indeed an utter waste of time.

  • more than $5 referral is a scam, they won't honour.

    • I've had about 5 all go through over time, some have taken a long time (because they forgot about it, I assume and so didn't bother to put in their banking details until they realised it was withdrawable months later) but every one except a recent one that's still pending had gone through for me and they've all been through the OzB random generator. I can see how they might reject referrals from the same device though as it would be open to all sorts of scams but you'd think for each person they could allow once if they can verify its their partner and unique bank accounts with names that match the verification ID are used for withdrawl. Idk I'm glad it's not my job to figure out what's legit and what isn't though that's for sure.

    • Referred my sister a couple months ago when it was $40 and they approved even before the cashback was confirmed. But she did transact around $400 since referral so it be that. You need to make sure you follow the details i.e. have withdrawal details and verified account.

  • Just remember you need to earn the minimum amount from cashbacks to withdraw… So you can't withdraw this $20 once confirmed until you earn the minimum cashout.

Work around just use "current wallet balance" and buy a giftcard with remaining amount.

      • Yeh I guess thats a good way to go abouts it

I had to send around 15 emails until I got the $5 for referral back in the day.
The incompetent team was useless copying and pasting scripts. As a result I stopped dealing with this dodgy company!!!

    • Yeah, I'm considering deleting my Shopback account, too much hassle. Just stick with CashRewards, I think.

  • Successfully referred 2 people in 2 years.. So, I would say nothing wrong with SB referral system.

Successful referral involves 4 conditions - 3 from ur referral and 1 from you. cannot force someone to fulfil their 3, if they need bonus, they will.. on the other hand its free money for you anyways.

For those referral declined, don’t use same device, account information or credit card details.. even if you’re living under same roof.. should only refer if they have their own phone, cc and banking details.

Do they ever acutal pay this referrer fee?? Waiting since before christmas. DO NOT TRUST.

    • Hi @cakesyy,
Our referral program has a few requirements in order to be paid out.
Go to our App, click 'Account' > click 'Invite a friend, get $$$' > scroll down to your list and click on the referral in question.
You'll be able to view the progress of that referral.

If you have any questions, please reach out via DMs.

      Thanks.

        • Hey @ceebs, not sure how you're associated with ShopBack…
If you reach out to me via DM I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

            • @ceebs: Ah I see.

I do apologize that Customer Support hasn't been able to provide adequate support.
The offer is there if you wish to reach out to me via DMs.
I personally cannot start DM conversations as a store rep account.

              Cheers.

Same! I'm done with Shopback. NIL TRUST.

Referral bonuses just stay as pending and it's such a hassle to follow it up

    • As the rep said in the above comment, if you are using app

Go to our App, click 'Account' > click 'Invite a friend, get $$$' > scroll down to your list and click on the referrals in progress.

From my example, I have still 1 in progress with 50% requirement completed:
      1. signed up with link
      2. I have added withdrawal details

Rest 50% left from the referred person
      3. friend need to add withdrawal details
      4. has to spend $20

It will remain as pending until rest 2 condition meet by my friend.

You won't actually get the credit - check a few months later and they will often reject it.
