  • I got mine for free!

    • FREE30 lucky you i missed it. im thinking of giving them a go since they use part of telstra's network. how are they any issues porting in out etc?

  • +1

    Heard telsim was very shady

  • Be careful of porting issues with this company, that's what I heard.
    Cheers.

Too good to be true deals from a no-name 'telco' are best avoided: Telcos and small companies are exempt from so many consumer protections, this kind of thing only happens when its a genuine promotion to buy sign-ups that pay more over the following months, or:

    • on-sell your data, including your identity
    • provide a cheap and limited service
    • sell your account on to another provider
    • scam you into paying more by forcing you to provide enough info for them to debit 'at will'

Remember, one that does all of the above is more likely than one that does just a couple.

At the slightest whiff of a problem, avoid until the entity has some runs on the board and can assure you, that they will not engage in the above practices.

Note: To be clear; I know nothing about Telsim, this is a general comment only.

  • Sounds cheap, what's the catch?

    • +4

      You’re the catch 😉

  • Got to be best deal yet. But I wonder the reception and sound quality?

same as Woolworths Mobile or Aldi Mobile.

I'd warn off if you are trying to port your number; I tried with this deal and got left without service waiting on the ridiculous 7-14 day porting period in their terms when every other service i'd flipped through over 12 months took minutes

    • maybe will have better luck now they are with telstra

    • +1

I had the same problem I lost my number as well
