  • App is a little slow for me right now, but enrolled eventually - thanks!

I held off buying stuff on eBay for 1 week to see if there was a deal and just made an order 2 days ago sigh.

    • +17

OMG… It is the first thing that was outlined above…

"You can use our "eBay Gift Cards" to pay for your order, and still be eligible for Regular Cashback + this Bonus Cashback."

      • +2

Might need to add the notes in "#" format now.

"You can use our "eBay Gift Cards" to pay for your order, and still be eligible for Regular Cashback + this Bonus Cashback."

        • Good point ;)

        • Fair point, I've just made the update now :)

      • +1

They clearly missed their appointment at Specsavers.

    • +2

Sorry ! I read it too fast !

  • +1

    As always, thank you!

    • +1

      Enjoy!

  • +1

    Any $5 suggestions?

  • "You can use our eBay Gift Cards to pay for your order, and still be eligible for Regular Cashback + this Bonus Cashback."

Is that mean I can pay the full price by gift card and still get this bonus cashbacck?

    • +1

      YES + regular cashback too

    • +1

Even with split payments with gift card and paypal it tracks. Did a $30 mask drop two days ago :(

  • +1

Does shopback work on eBay auctions?

    • Nope. I tried it recently, auctions track but show as calculating.

      • yep I didn't notice until recently, even best offer was not counted.

        • Auctions and Best Offer were listed as ineligible for months but I just wasn't aware if it was implemented and have been using CR for that.

It's clear eBay are further reducing what is eligible, with CR having also made Auctions and Best Offer ineligible and now only working for new customers, I wouldn't be surprised if SB also eventually no longer providing CB for existing customers.

    • +1

      Unfortunately not :(

      • Will $5 after gst work for international items?

        • +1

          Yes it will :)

  • After activating on the app, will this work if I purchase using a desktop and Safari?

    • Absolutely, just be sure to activate our links through Desktop/Safari when you shop.
However, using our app does provide greater tracking success as there are fewer 3rd-party apps interfering with the links/tracking process.

      Cheers!

  • OP knows any bonus for Chemist WH coming? Haven't seen it for a while. Cheers

    • +1

Nothing that I'm aware of, but I'll keep it in mind when organising the next few OzB promos :)

  • +3

Thanks GYB - I've added to the BCMT for tracking purposes

  • can I use this with the code PLUSFEB5

    • no

    • +6

Cashback will be invalidated, but the Bonus will be eligible :)

  • -1

Thanks GYB. After a few people winge on the 50% off ebay gift card deal only being for new customers, you make a comeback and make it right 😀

  • What's good to buy?

    • My Printer ink cartridges run out at different speeds. Although not normally economic to buy a 'single', I am thinking of buying one or 2 that run out the fastest.

  • +1

Can I use promo code? Is it valid for this bonus (I understand cashback will be invalidated)?

    • It is uncertain.

    • +3

Cashback will be invalidated, but the Bonus will be eligible :)

New to shopback, followed the instructions in the steps. How long does it typically take once your order moves from 'Pending' to 'Approved'?

    • +1

Hey @LaProblematique, welcome to the fam!

You'll be able to find all the info needed on the Merchant Page.
Here is the eBay Merchant Page which highlights a 60-Day pending period for eBay orders :)

      Hope this helps!

      • +1

Thanks gotyourback and thanks Shopback for a great offer!

        • +1

          Anytime! Enjoy :)

          • @gotyourback: Hey @gotyourback the $25 bonus never tracked for my purchase. Can I please DM you my details to have this resolved? Cheers!

            • @LaProblematique: Absolutely, send me a DM and I'll get back to you either today or tomorrow :)

  • So you can't buy a $5 ebay gift card from ebay?

    • +1

Unfortunately not, Gift Cards purchased through the eBay Australia Web/App are not eligible for Commission Payments & will not be reported back to our system.
This would result in the order being untracked & nothing counting towards the bonus.

      • +1

        Hi GYB!
What about GST this time? I remember the x to go was always GST excluded like $4.54 instead of $5.

        • +5

          Hey @1000060,

eBay Australia reports their orders a little different.
GST is included in their reporting, so our challenge can be set to $5 min spend.

However, if you purchase an item from an international seller, GST will be added at checkout & will be excluded from reporting.

Item from local seller = $5 checkout/min spend.
Item from an international seller = $5.50 checkout/min spend.

          Hope this helps :)

  • Great deal!

  • Can we stack with this deal?
    Thanks

    • +1

You need to buy an item over $10.

      • They're probably asking regarding the $3 for $5 spend. Either way, you'd still get the bonus, just not the regular cashback.

The use of any Promo Code not listed on our eBay Merchant Page(shopback.com.au) will cause your Cashback to be invalidated, but the Bonus will be eligible.

        @MiNaWu

        • $10 - $5 = $5 spend

          • @Neoika: Why would the $5 coupon not count toward the required spend? I don't see anything about that in the T&Cs…

            • +3

@MiscOzB: Coupon is not payment. Think about the 20% off coupon/code.

              • @Neoika: Yeah I was about to edit my comment saying that. True.

  • Thanks OP

  • If I purchase something, say $7.95. I use a plus coupon to bring down to $2.95 the pay the rest with gift card. I understand I won't get cashback but will I get the bonus ?

    • +1

No bonus, amount spent required = $5 or more (even after use of coupons to get bonus)

      • -1

        7.95 - 2.95 = ?

        • 7.95 - 5 (plus coupon) = 2.95

  • Hi op, just needed a confirmation if I purchase two items total more than $5 in one transaction, will this be eligible for bonus?
There was a $5 eBay coupon code, if I purchase a $6 item with $5 code, pay $1 with e-gift, is bonus still eligible?

    • +2

$5 must be spent after coupon/code.

Coupon/code is not payment, eGC is.

    • Payment of $5 must be paid.

  • Not a SB customer (yet) but this is a great deal!

  • I've just made my first purchase through Shopback and have attempted to take advantage of this promotion. I've purchased a "But It Now" football jersey but when checking the Shopback app it is saying i have no recent purchases. Have i done something wrong? Went through the Shopback app

    • +1

Tracking is normal the next business day after 9 am

  • +1

Got nothing left to buy from eBay :(

    • I still have a few items like caliper and battery tester to buy that I saved for this occasion, but historically these items were cheaper even after I get the cashback. I have a multimeter but the website say battery tester cannot be used for rechargeable battery, is this true?

      • Thanks got suggestion of Brake fluid tester it seems to be around $5 only question is that is the $5 with or without GST spend requirement ?

Edit : seems like it is $5 without GST

        • +1

So does that mean you need to spend $5.50? But if that was the case, surely it would just say spend $5.50.

          And

What's a brake fluid tester (curious as I have an EV and basically don't use the brakes any more, so the calipers rust out with no heat to remove moisture).

          • @tunzafun001: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313748393463

Well braking systems in the cars is one of the only systems that has not changed that much, other than like dot 3 vs dot 4 vs dot 5.1 fluid upgrade.
Doesn't matter what car you got, EV or non EV, will have brake fluid, which if absorbs waters gets bad, and hence needs replacing, as Water isn't that compressible compared to brake fluid, and will attract air too (which is even worse).
Ofcourse the EV battery does recharge quite a bit from the regenerative braking but whenever you have to break hard or quickly, normal braking system is always prioritized for use that time. Regen brake most effective when you simply let your feet of gas, (and dont put it on brake pedal)

It is $5 without GST, So with GST it would be $5.5 minimum spend for those items outside of Australia.

            • @USER DC: Cheers for the link. The issue with EVs is when you rarely brake hard. Therefore the brake calipers/ fluid never gets hot, and water doesn't get evaporated. Calipers rust out internally and seize. So this will be handy.

Still confused by the GST thing. If I spend $5 on eBay.com.au the item is really only $4.50 + 50c GST. So it isn't $5 without GST. If you spend $5 on an international item, it will cost you $5.50 and should count?

              • +1

@tunzafun001: Yes consistent brake fluid flushing or at least movement (with EV's there isn't that much break fluid use as you said) of brake fluid will ensure the braking system in good condition. They generally say AT LEAST once every 2 years regardless of Km's.

I dont know about your shopback offer, but when i went on my shopback app I saw there clearly spend $5 or more in a single transaction (minimum spend does not include GST charged at checkout for international items, delivery, and all other fees)

GYB should have made it clearer in the deal

                • @USER DC: Ah cheers. This wording is much clearer. GYB has been awesome, so I'll give him a break. Cheers again.

        • I relised the person below mentioned caliper on brake, I was planning to get the digital caliper to measure.

          • @htc: Yup vernier caliper is good one too, but i already bought 1 earlier like a year or so ago.

    • Btw I still haven't quality tested the wrench I got from your deal.

      • +1

I was gonna get the window tints for around $5 but then released that 5% VLT is not legal in Australia, lowest is like 20% VLT that too only in rear windows

        • I tinted the window recently, looks harder than the video on youtube but get better with practice. Agree can't get something too dark, I guess it would be too dark to use at night.

          • @htc: nice ! how much did it end up costing you though ? if you dont mind sharing ?

            • +2

@USER DC: About $16, I was initially trying to get it from supercheap, then found out Bunnings is cheaper, then I found out eBay is even cheaper, there are ones that comes with a kit with tools, I guess you have already have lots of tools, so you may like to get one with the film only, may be cheaper this year and with recent eBay auto coupon, you may get one cheaper, hard part is to learn from video and spending the time practising, may be start with one window, wait a week, if you like the result do the rest of the windows. I got some wrinkle on my window, can't be bothered to remove the film and redo a new one. Edit I think the Bunnings one appear to be better quality.

          • @htc: I have been in cars overseas that have been so heavily tinted that it is very difficult to see out of at night. Also, when you are driving and another car is heavily tinted it is difficult to get a visual cue of whether the other driver is looking at you - and that does make a difference. I am all for limiting the amount of tint that people can do.

I've registered a new shopback account, and purchased $10 eBay gift card, am I eligible for the 25 cash back?

  • Would the bonus Cashback work if I buy a $6 item and pay $5 with a unique voucher

    • It requires $5 spend (without the use of voucher or promo code), so can be like $5 card/gift card +$5 voucher

  • Done… see how this goes. So normally I have an adblocking DNS running on my iPhone, I turned it off for this just in case.. but is this necessary? Should it track regardless as long as I allow app tracking when prompted?

  • +1

Ordered last night but it hasn't tracked yet, hopefully it will track this morning.

    • Checked and I only got $0.03 cashback on a $5.35 item. Did all the steps and followed everything. Maybe that's just the regular CB? the bonus hasn't been applied yet.
