Got "the deal isn't available to you…" Message upon swiping to pay targeted

    • +4

same, almost made me feel like i was clicking on those cashrewards deals "sorry, you are not eligible for this offer"

  • Targeted

    T&C:
50% Cashback offer on a $10 Amazon Gift Card is valid only for new customers at ShopBack Gift Cards. Valid for a limited time only, and strictly while promotional stocks last. Promotion cannot be stacked with any other bonus offers.

  • +2

I can get through to the link, but t&C say new customers only

  • +1

Any way to check if you are entitled to 50%

    • +5

If you swipe to pay it doesn't work if not eligible

  • +2

    New Cashback GC customers only

    • Aren't all their gift cards new? Why would anyone want to purchase used gift cards?

  • -1

Can we buy 1 card per and do multiple purchases to avail the 50% cashback?

  • NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY!

  • +1

Too good to be true for us loyal and old OzBargainers

    • +9

Loyalty? I’m pretty sure you guys drop your pants for anyone flashing a deal

      • +1

        "we all", there fixed it.

  • How many ozbargainers are actually new to Shopback?

    • +3

Most likely the 30+ peeps who have upvoted this deal. ;-)

  • +7

Have no idea how this is getting upvotes unless people can't read.
Previous 'new customer' deal was 100% cashback on $10 Swap card and before that it was $10 from any, but $5 gets more upvotes?

    • waiting for your downvote

    • That deal has expired… ?

      • Are you really that clueless lol. Shopback makes these promotions, if you are happy with less of course they will give you less.

If not enough people show interest, they'll increase the reward until target is met…

    • Upvote for sustainable business practices. 100% cashback is clearly not sustainable — that’s a charity, not a business

      • Geez the IQ of the average person is even lower than I thought.

A $10 bonus to a new customer is actually quite cheap. 100% cashback uncapped is a charity, that's why things have limits.

If by 'sustainable' you mean making them more profits then of course. Unless Shopback is in such dire straits that giving out another $5 will send them bankrupt? Geez better withdraw.

  • Wow. A whole $5 off for the couple of people here who don't have a shopback account.

  • +2

Worked for me, good stuff. Ive had a shopback account for ages but I've never bought a gift card. Thus I meet the T&C

  • +3

looks like new customers to shopback isn't the same as new customers to shopback Giftcards. I got mine tracked despite being their customer for over 2yrs however I haven't purchase any Giftcards from them ever.

    • +1

I use ShopBack but have never bought a GC through them. I assume that means I (and weirdos like me) qualify…

      • -1

        Thanks OP, got it!
May I ask where did you find this deal? I can't find it anywhere other than your link:)

        • +2

          By email, this morning.

          • @ferrisb: Haha I didn't receive the email but still qualify this. Thanks

      • +1

You missed out a lot mate!

  • -1

Didn't work. Plus Amazon GCs are on my shit list after flybuys /Amazon promo where I bought 5x $100 GC from Coles and one of them won't redeem and Amazon support just says it's not valid and I'm waiting for Coles to action my complaint.

    • It sounds like something went wrong in the gift card activation process (which is usually handled by a third-party business, and Coles merely acts as the agent).

It’s not the first time something like that has happened at Coles or Woolworths, but it is unusual, so I think you were unlucky…

Out of curiosity, did you purchase Amazon GCs through a self-serviced checkout or serviced checkout?

      • Self service checkout

        • Ahh okay, less chances of a staff member swapping out a gift card you scanned with a gift card that wasn’t scanned at all.

I mention this, because someone from my local Coles supermarket was recently fired for doing exactly that on multiple occasions.

and you have to wait for 4 months to get any cashback? yeah nah

    • +5

Giftcard purchases are instantly tracked and paid out within a week. Stop spreading false information.

      • -2

that's why i'm waiting until june

        false info but

  • Old customer - got the deal, seems like a glitch in thr system.

    • Got cashback confirmed?

  • +1

    New ShopBack Gift Card Customers

This would exclude like 95% of ozbargain people lol

  • -1

I got the email but unforfunately once i got to the site it did not say 50% cashback. I got lied

  • Wow…nah.

  • -5

Lame. Need one for existing members

    • +2

      The entitlement is immeasurable.

  • So I bought an Amazon gift card via shopback app yesterday. I didn't receive the gift card yet. Anyone else have this issue?

  • The app requires credit card , is there a way to use Apple Pay with this ?

  • Not sure if this is a dud deal. I have shopback and never bought any giftcard. When i log into Shopback app. it takes to amazon gift card but says 2% cashback.
    Am i doing something wrong?

  • Man, I think I'm done with ShopBack, such a hassle! haha
