First timer, please trend gently…

I bought a set of these in Black Friday sale. Have been using them with our 65CX OLED, as well as for WFH & working out. Had Samsung Buds before but didn't like sound quality/fit & developed ear infection after wearing them. These LG ones have UV Nano self-cleaning so have not had any other issues with infections.

According to 3xCamels, this is lowest price. Plus, looks like there is an offer for purchasing these through the Amazon App which would bring price down to $119:

  • UV Nano self-cleaning so have not had any other issues with infections

For the uninitiated - what on earth is this? Ear infections? From earphones??

    • +2

Absolutely…people are quite unaware about handling hearing protection plugs of ear-plugs with their hands and creating all kind of possible infections.
When I use hearing protection plugs I was my hands before and (almost) never re-use plugs, but this post makes me realise I am not so savvy for my earphone plugs.

      • So this means that I shouldn't use the air pods I had dropped in my compost and found it a month later….. One of em works but the other doesn't.

Short (but sponsored) review by Linus Tech Tips

    • Is he a shill? I think so but hard to know isn't it…..

      • Most tech youtubers have to shill (to a certain point) in order to keep the lights on. Unbox Therapy and Austin Evans are probably the most hardcore shills as they rarely do any proper product reviews. You can think of them as entertainers for the tech crowd, rather than product reviewers.

Linus is a mix of both, just that there's a clear distinction as they announce upfront that it's a sponsored video. Hardware Unboxed and Gamers' Nexus are the only 2 youtubers that (I know of) are proper product reviewers

        • Thanks man. Money can change people I tell ya.

I have pretty much stopped believing YT reviews these days. Even amazon reviews are doctored etc.

TBH when they announce it's a sponsored video, there is not much point in watching anyways except to check out the features of the product. But you can just read it in the brochure.

      • +1

Linus is far from a shill. One of the rare YT Tech channels that isn't afraid to call companies out on their bullshit or when products suck. He legitimately likes these.
One thing to note, there is an updated FP9/8 model that is apparently much better and Linus has a review of those as well

  • anyone here know/able to provide comparison vs Soundpeats T3/Air3 ? I saw they were on sale as well and am tempted…

    • The T3 has active noise cancellation. The LG Tone Free FN6 has none and relies on passive noise isolation.
