Seems to be an in-store manager’s special.
Cavendish bananas 99c per kg.
Time to go bananas for this one… 🍌
All were green/yellow - none overripe

Must have had too much stock?
Apparently, all the ones they got delivered were bent, so they are clearing them out…
My petrol is more expensive than the saving for banana lol
Lucky my kids prefer bananas for school lunch rather than petrol…
I think they might be price matching the Asian grocer next to the Mala place lol.
It says $3.90/kg next to it. Does it scan $0.90 or $3.99?
$0.99 or $3.90*
You choose, Neo
99c. I can post my receipt if needed.
Price match at officeworks?
Denied because the manager thinks Woolies bananas are from Ecuador…
They have gone bananas
Bought some earlier today at 0.99 cents, great bargain.
Wow that's 100x cheaper than the advertised price!
Haha wrote it quickly. I meant at that price, per kg.
$0.99. 0.99 Cents would be not even a cent
@Royale with cheese: Thanks for re-explaining what the last person said for the real thickies.
@kiriakoz: Didn't look like ducksmad understood it though
For some reason I've stopped liking eating Cavendish bananas. I think they don't taste much. Why can't we have a sweet tasty bananas from Ecuador or Philippines like NZ has?
Biosecurity. Foreign bananas can only be imported in frozen form.
Why can't we have a sweet tasty bananas from Ecuador or Philippines like NZ has?
Because they have more carbs…
Are these boneless?
You prefer the bone? It will hurt more
FWIW I've noticed a lot of independent fruit sellers (Fruit Ezy etc.) doing bananas at a buck a kilo at present vs $3+ at major supermarkets.
Why do you hate our hard-working patriotic Australian duopolies?
Empirical observation - the cheaper the banana the poorer the quality at Woolworths.
Damn. I bought bananas at $3/kg today at an Asian green grocer. Cost me $4.10 for 5 pieces altogether.
Please hand in your Ozbargain membership.
Yea Rhodes central Asian supermarket always sell it $.99, haven’t bought any from Coles or Wolli since then.
Yes, I bought from them as well.
Is this for all of NSW stores?
Unlikely. They do it to compete with surrounding smaller stores. Eastern Creek woolies sells them for same price as the little shop outside to compete. Always less than their normal prices
Pretty sure it’s not, the special was tagged as “manager’s special” on the POS screen when I was purchasing.
Just watch this guy, he got a point https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpGgvpj25fU
Bought some this morning there, can confirm still @ this bargain price.
Wow nice! Must have had too much stock?
