  • How reliable is this VPN if only bought for the purpose of watching Netflix on other locations such as US, UK, and others?

    • You might want to try it and see given its AUD 4 or less for the entire 2 years. Plus 30 days money back guarantee….Less than a coffee price

      • No cashback on the GST component. In other VPN offers you can choose to be in another country to avoid GST. Not sure about this one

    • Purely for Netflix I find it decent as long as your particular setup can handle the requirements - u can only do openvpn on a router currently although they are apparently working on wireguard on router support

    • I signed up yesterday and the SmartDNS doesn't work for Netflix (and their chat support said this has been the case "For a while now" even though there's no mention of an issue on the website) and I haven't found a single one of their servers working with Netflix on PC/Tablet. Guess I'll give it another 29 days though and see what happens.

So what does it actually cost after all discounts? That should be in the title.

I paid around AUD$91 and the email from Cashrewards says the tracked amount is $77.13

  • IMO Nord > Surfshark

  • Doesn't work to stream netflix USA ymmv

I get suspicious of these VPN's offering such high cashback, how are they making money?

    • +4

With other VPN offers the catch is that if you turn of auto renewal the VPN classifies it as cancelling their service, so 2-3 months down the track you don't get the cashback. If you don't turn off auto renewal to get the cashback you then have to remember to turn it off afterwards and they hope you forget about it

What are you suggesting that these most trustworthy of corporate citizens, VPN providers are a bit tricky??? I don't believe it, their own website tellse they're trustworthy!

I think so. The problem VPN who did not honour the cashback was PIA and the cashback was via Shopback. This is a different VPN, and offer is from Cashrewards. I turned off NordVpn auto renewal, found out about PIA refusing cashback then turned it on again. and I got the cashback via Cashrewards. It might only be PIA that play this game, but maybe they all do

  • I am a bit confused.
Is it 100% cashback for the first month and 96% cashback for the remaining 23 months?
Or is it 100% cashback for the first month and no more cashback for the remaining 23 months?

Sounds like it’s 100% cash back on the first 30 days of service, so you need to cancel on day 31 to get a maximum discount of 96%. Pretty misleading wording/deal if you ask me (no offence OP).

    • I think it's 100% cashback (i.e. refund) if you cancel in the first 30 days

    • +1

It's 96% cashback (excluding GST) for the 24 months, but if you are not happy in the first 30 days you can get a refund.
      Rather oddly worded.

  • Their app sucks for Windows 11, basically can't split tunnel - just an FYI
