Full product specs on our website, and the full range of available Colorful / iGame series GPUs can be found here. There is also a decent JayzTwoCents on Youtube (linked here) showing off the 3080 (non-Ti) model of the Advanced OC which in many respects is extremely similar. In terms of the design, heat-sink, fans,VRM & overall dimensions they are identical. Of course performance numbers can be ignored because it's a different GPU and memory under the hood but you can get a better feel for the aesthetic and build quality overall and make your own assumptions from there.

Important note regarding shipping
Due to the high value nature of the item it's not eligible for shipping via AusPost due to parcel insurance reasons. Additionally, our alternative low-cost carrier's (Couriers Please) service standards have been significantly impacted by various COVID related factors and has been for a while. We have had no choice but to suspend this option until they recover to an acceptable level of service.

As such, only TNT / Fedex delivery options remain at this point in time for those who are not local enough for Click & Collect. Yes, this is a bit more expensive (starting from $27 and varying depending on post code) but for an item of this value we would argue that it's well worth the peace of mind and significantly speedier delivery compared to the alternatives.

Important note regarding size & compatibility
This is one of the larger triple slot, triple fan GPUs on the market measuring in at 315.5x131x60mm requiring 3x 8-pin power connectors. Power consumption with out of the box settings can reach 370w and can increase to over 400w when enabling the OC BIOS or setting a manual overclock in software like Afterburner. When calculating power requirements from your PSU remember to take in to account all components of your PC and ensure the PC you intended to install this card in to is compatible prior to purchase. Return requests will not be accepted if the only reason for return is that the card does not fit in your PC, or your existing power supply fails to meet the requirements.

We can get a extra power supply in the previous deal:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/678402

    • That's a budget entry level model you're comparing against a much more premium version in this deal. Instead of a power supply, you're getting a much higher end cooling solution, better VRM, more premium build materials, a factory overclock, dual BIOS and a lower total price?

      • OP, is the cooling on this better than Gainward phoenix/phantom? never used colorful before.

        • +1

Can't say with certainty because we've never used a Gainward RTX3080 TI on our end. What we can say is the Advanced OC compares very well with cards we have tested here (Gaming X Trio, Asus Strix & TUF, Gigabyte Aorus etc)

      • lol i just find "budget entry level" funny when describing a 3080ti =P

  • What are the prices of these meant to be, pre spike? I need a new GPU for work but this just seems steep.

    • $1920 was AUS MSRP for the 3080 Ti. Not too bad of a deal considering that and also this is an aftermarket model albeit not from one of the top brands.

      • How much does branding affect the performance? Or is it more like a premium people pay for a 'gaming' brand?

        • +2

The brand itself doesn't affect performance but the model does eg. ASUS STRIX, TUF, MSI SUPRIM, GAMING TRIO etc. Doesn't matter too much this generation as it's more to do with how well they cool the GPU when pulling 320W+. You will get better resale value along the line if that matters. Can't speak for warranty as it depends per brand but afaik Gigabyte offer 4 years warranty on GPU's.

      • +1

Not one of the top brands in terms of marketing spend or wide availability in 'western' markets, but worldwide they outsell Asus, MSI & Gigabyte.

PC Partner Group (parent company of Palit, Gainward, Zotac and Manli) are #1 in terms of global sales but that's across multiple brands. Colorful is #1 in terms of a single brand for Nvidia GPUs sold worldwide, it's just that the vast majority of those units are sold in Asia, especially China, South Korea and Vietnam from what we understand.

Over 2k for graphics card. (profanity) me dead. I thought buying a 1080ti for $1300 watercooled was nutty.

Welcome to 2022, and for the record we wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment.

      • +1

Yeah. no hate to you guys. I know it's across the board. Crazy these days.

China started to have GPU “deals” at nearly MSRP such as TUF 3080 for $1.2k (converted from CNY) and TUF 3090 for $2.6k.
Dunno if it’s gonna happen here :(

    • can we buy it from aliexpress?

      • +1

Dunno the detail just read it on twitter. I guess defs not from aliexpress tho. I don’t wanna buy GPU from them either.

      • +1

too much risk I guess, seen lots of cases ended up receiving fake cards

Think we might have found it on JD.com?

      https://item.jd.com/100024621744.html

If google translate isn't failing us terribly here, it looks like you need to book an appointment, to reserve a spot in gaining access to a 'snap up' sale where they release an unspecified number of units to order.

Smells like a marketing stunt more than any signs of a new sustainable market price. Next cheapest in stock Asus TUF 3080 on JD is going for closer to $2,000 AUD before shipping and tax.

Sounds like Squid Game to me…

      • Thanks OP for the info. Only read this on twitter and dunno about the detail.
Personally I’m ITX player so more into single fan card so hoping you can do a deal on the Colorful 3060 mini :) decent looking card

        • +1

duly noted! will pass that on to the PM.

      • I heard that kind of batch buying is trending in China

      • Speak of TUF, why are they specifically more expensive than the same models from other brands?

        • Cooling is much better and performance not much different to the premium models such as ROG STRIX and MSI SUPRIM

          • @nelladream: Yep so just the same as I thought… and the price for a 3080 TUF OC goes from $2099 all the way to almost $3k… how ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣

          • +2

@nelladream: This gen's TUF cards are a very solid option, but Asus in general do their best to maintain a premium market price over the competition. We call it the Asus tax (there's also a Razer tax) and while it's not a thing in all regions where the Asus name doesn't carry the same cachet, it's pretty prevalent here in Australia.

Their whole long term marketing strategy revolves around maintaining their 'premium' status and like it or not, having their cards priced below the competition might sell more units in the short term but has the opposite effect in the long term.

            • @evatech: I find it really hard to believe asus cards sell well here. Although, I guess you would know better than me.

Most of their cards are of similar price, if not higher than the next tier up of GPU. Just seems like a incredibly dumb purchase. Literally giving up 15-20% or so in performance just to have your card run 10 degrees cooler/a little quieter lol.

              • +2

@bert-lifts: Spoken as if you're a reasonably PC hardware literate member of an online bargain hunting community…

Remember there's also grown men who queue up for an hour at Chadstone to spend $450 t-shirt at Gucci. People are strange…and somewhere in that wide spectrum of humans are Asus customers.

              • @bert-lifts: There are people out there with more money than sense. Or people without a lot of money but even less sense. They're the kind of people who buy these overpriced products.

      • Damn detective OP! Good work/effort digging it up.

      • Yeah it's a marketing gimmick. I stayed up at 3am this morning for their 3060 Ti at 2999 RMB (635 AUD). JD app just auto refreshed and sold out at exactly 3am.
