  • I don’t See the third option or I’m just blind says 29.99

  • +8

Thanks Dealbot. Note that it's now the first option and it says "one time purchase" and the 2nd and 3rd options are monthly and annual subscriptions.

I passed on the previous deals thinking i'd never need it but i stayed in a hotel a few months ago that had TVs with Chromecasts and i thought to myself "oh… that's why I needed that casting app"

    • +4

I was trying to work out when I would need this, so thanks for the suggestion! I was using my iPad when I travelled for work, didn’t even think to check the TV!

  • Thanks. Downloaded and casting perfectly to chrome cast.

  • Is there any way to have an app install when you get the 'its not compatible with this ipad' message?

    • +2

Does your device meet these requirements? If not, no.

      Compatibility
      iPhone
      Requires iOS 13.0 or later.
      iPad
      Requires iPadOS 13.0 or later.
      iPod touch
      Requires iOS 13.0 or later.

      • Thanks, ah well..

    • +1

Reinstall from purchase history, should offer to install an older version.

      • Ok thanks, though its an older ipad and doesnt meet minimum requirements

  • -1

Do you really have to pay extra for this on Apple? Wow!

    • +3

No, this is mainly to support screen mirroring to things like a Chromecast.

Many apps already have Chromecast functionality built in, and of course you can use AirPlay for screen mirroring to an Apple TV.

      • -5

But you can't just mirror an iPhone to Chrome cast without the need for an app?

        • +24

No, just as you can’t screen mirror an Android device out of the box using AirPlay.

          • +2

@Mitch889: Except that this app is letting you use Miracast which is available for anyone to use (even Apple) whereas AirPlay is Apple's proprietary technology.

            • +2

@spaceflight: Well tell the dev to give the app away for free, oh wait…

              • +1

@smartazz104: That's funny because my comment didn't say anything about money or cost.

            • +3

@spaceflight: No different to Google Cast being a proprietary technology.

Not really sure what point you’re trying to prove other than both Google and Apple developing technologies that are integrated into their respective platforms, and are implemented by third-party apps to expand them across other platforms.

There are apps to use AirPlay on Android devices, I remember using one many years ago when I last had an android device.

              • @Mitch889: Air Audio.

              • +4

                @Mitch889:

No different to Google Cast being a proprietary technology.

Except I didn't say Google Cast, I said Miracast

Not really sure what point you’re trying to prove other than both Google and Apple developing technologies that are integrated into their respective platforms, and are implemented by third-party apps to expand them across other platforms.

Again, I said Miracast which isn't a Google product. It is developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Just because it is in an android phone doesn't make it a Google product. Google have just included the capability in Android.

Apple could do the same but instead they restrict you to their own technology unless you want an extra app.
Google doesn't restrict you to Google Cast.

There are apps to use AirPlay on Android devices, I remember using one many years ago when I last had an android device.

                That's a nice memory.

                • +1

@spaceflight: My understanding is that many flavours of Android support Miracast, however Google also restrict the ability to natively Miracast on Pixels. You can still mirror your screen, but only over the Google Cast protocol.

Both Apple and Google have their own ways of screwing over consumers if it will grow their own business.

                  • +1

@Hargain Bunter: You seem to be confused, Google Cast is part of Google Play Services, not Android.

Apple doesn’t restrict you to AirPlay either, which is why there are countless apps that let you stream with Google Cast.

Miracast has been an outsider for ages, great that it’s “free” but clearly Apple and Google’s solutions are more popular and widely supported.

        • -4

Didn't realise Apple fanboys got so offended by question.

          • -1

@morgan01: Really, so defensive despite nobody attacking them for falling for the Apple "give less, charge more" system.

Android has this right out of the box for free and it works perfectly.

  • +3

I think I must have done this previously?

    • Yeah me too. No options except restore purchases.

  • Thanks op grabbed it last time… yet to use properly. Seems ok from my initial test

  • +1

Does it work on any chrome cast?

    • +4

      Who can do what?

      • -1

LG OLED allows airplay straight to the TV.

  • +3

Nice thanks op, can finally play clash of clans from my TV lol

  • +7

Just tried it why is it so laggy and blurry? Pretty much unusable

    • Most likely end user issue, works fine my at my end

      • -4

        Nope it’s useless

    • Try switching to your 5ghz wifi instead of 2.4ghz

  • +4

I bought this last time practically useless

  • Thanks OP

  • What is the difference to the iPhone screen mirror itself?

    • +3

You can share your screen to more devices than just apple tvs

    • +7

This uses Miracast which is developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Miracast works on most things whereas AirPlay doesn't.

  • Thanks op!

  • +5

    $63?! gtfo

    • Bye!

    • -1

You work for free? When can you start?

  • +2

    I use android. Still voted.

  • Make sure to grab this guys! It’s really been useful since I got it last time!

  • Good stuff, was actually paying for this to cast Zwift to the tv

  • Awesome thanks a lot!

  • Thanks OP. Works well for seeing my iPhone on Sony Bravia tv. Can’t seem to get it work with streaming apps. Sounds comes through but no picture once you start playing a movie. Tried Netflix and foxtel go.
Anyone else have the same issue

    • +1

Pretty sure that's a thing with streaming apps! I'm guessing it's for security/ piracy reasons :/

    • +1

Yeah thats licencing issue. Provider does that on purpose. Eg you can watch an NRL game on phone but it won't let you stream anything but sound to airplay because they want you to pay for foxtel.

      • Chrome cast works fine though?

  • +3

    Two things you should know:

    1. You can cast from iOS devices to TV via personal hotspot and use your device mobile data to stream content (eg Netflix) - particularly useful when you run out of broadband data!

    2. You may need to adjust the default setting on the app from Quality to Balanced/Speed to prevent freezing of video content when broadcasting.

    • +2

It’s pretty laggy being my iPhone 11 Pro and TV, is this normally the case? I changed the setting as per above but geez it’s laggy as, I can’t see any point of using this app if it lags this much? I might as well buy an Apple TV if I wanted to broadcast from my phone to Tv which I don’t really know what I would be doing that for? Examples?

      • Yep same here. Using LG TV with iPhone.

      • Same here. Just tried it playing a basic game and it takes about 2 seconds for it to show on my TV. Ipad mini 6 to Panasonic GZ 1000.

    • Update: It seems some videos will not broadcast - freeze up - no matter what you try with the settings.

  • +1

It worked on Akai LG TV!

  • Doesn't seem to be showing anymore, expired?

    • Nope, I just did it.

  • -1

Already have this app from the previous deal. Here you go +1 vote for a useful submission.

  • Thank op, got it, no issue

  • Worked in my Tesla!

  • Telstra TV/Roku not currently supported

  • +3

Doesn’t offer free upgrade anymore or am I clicking somewhere else

    • +2

I’m also struggling, only options are for a free trial or to sign up for 29.99

  • thx. missed last time, sorted it out this time.

  • +2

This is all I can see. No free lifetime I can see anywhere

    https://ibb.co/hfQ9sp3

  • +1

    Maybe the offer is expired

  • +1

I get option of free trial or $29.99 yearly. Others who got the free option also mentioned being offered a monthly subscription which is not something that comes up for me. Do we have to activate the free 3 day trial?

  • One time purchase showing as 79.99 after going through the App Store on iPad.

  • Can’t seem to see the free option …. Need help
Only the free trial or 29.90

  • +1

I only get free trial or 'continue' for 29.99 / year. Think this may have expired.

  • Once installed the app on the iPhone how do I use it on LG Oled TV?

    • +1

      Try contacting support.

    • My LG oled has airplay built in so no need for this app.

I would this this is for older tv that don’t have airplay/chromecast built in?

  • Is there a way to get these Apps without having to be at your device? I'd like to take advantage of deals without having to be at home to fire up the iPad.

    • This deal was only accessible as a link within the app so not possible to grab it without a device. For some of the giveaway apps I think you might be able to claim them through the App Store on your Mac. I’m not 100% sure though since they have removed most app management from the Mac side of things preferring you to manage it directly on the device itself these days. Might only be possible on an old Mac running something like Sierra or maybe older.

    • I'd like to take advantage of deals without having to be at home to fire up the iPad.

Fire up the smart phone in your hand…

      • I swapped to Android after the iPhone 4 series.

        • This app is also available on Android!

  • Thanks @dealbot.
It looks I already have a lifetime premium IAP subscription, thanks to last year's deal (also from you).
