  • What are the main differences between IBT-4XC and the IBBQ-4T?

    • The 4T is WiFi as compared to 4CX which is Bluetooth. Both use different apps. The 4T is also usb C. Having used both id recommend the 4T if you plan on using the app.

        Excellent, thanks so much

One thing to watch for, the setup can be a pain and it <only> works on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and doesn't seem to like some of those Wi-Fi networks that claim to do 2.4/5GHz auto assignment.

Depending on whether iPhone or Android there's a couple of different apps/versions. On Android I use "Inkbird Pro". But it seems that every time it gets updated it loses sign-in info, or the device, or both. And the temp data isn't saved - when you turn the unit off your temp record graphs are gone, so export/save them first if that's your thing. Notifications can also be a bit hit and miss.

It is a good unit though and it's kinda cool being able to monitor your temps from the pub and ask the misso to adjust as needed.

          • @hotphil: Can any of them be used without the app if there are any occasional issue with the app?

            • +2

@limja: Oh yeah, they'll just sit and display the temp of each probe quite happily :D

          • @hotphil: I use the “BBQ-4T” app and don’t have any issues with it updating/ signing me out. Also no issues on notifications but do loose all graphs/history when the unit gets turned off. Agree I’ve had issues with certain networks. And didn’t have great success with the “slow flash” method where it creates its own hotspot. Lucky on the home network it works perfect.

  • Are the probes waterproof or easy to clean at all? I have a cheapie I bought a while ago and wrecked the probe by accidentally dropping in the sink while cleaning. They're quite hard to clean without wetting them much.

  • +1

Probe is waterproof. But connection between metal probe and plastic is not. Be careful when you clean it. If it get wet please put probe (not includes plastic part) into oven for half hour at 150℃ to dry.

    • Hi, Any chance of a code for the IBBQ-4BW?
