There's the real value (and it's cheaper on Alibaba)

    Nor was it $460

fine print …… This product can't be shipped to your address. (Australia)
      Select another product or address.

    • Would you find a seller that ships to Australia for less than $350 total?
Because the seller you've shown is EU Stock only.
When you call a seller out you need it to be relevant to our location - other, you're neglecting to calculate their tax costs and shipping, logistics to and within Australia.

Everything's imported. Everyone's paying less than what they're typically selling it for, thats what ecommerce is about.

      Thanks for sharing @spackbace.
The link you shared had different chair base (right angled),I am afraid it is from a different brand with different quality.
Plus it doesnt ship to Australia looks like.

How do you know its of different quality?

        • normally aliexpress sells low quality items even it has same brand name and poor package slow shipping bad customer service. there is no brand seller
          only money seeking goblins

    • at $199 I's pounce, if delivered ,,,,

      ^ That too

Apparently its not even the same chair, king.

Kind of an irrelevant comparison when it's not even possible to get it to Australia.

  • Been looking for a good chair for WFH. Anyone have suggestions under $300?

    • I'm pretty picky, however, found myself enjoying: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/typhoon-pr… despite the negative reviews, I didn't notice the problems they are mentioning.
The mesh back is plenty comfy, and so is the seat, if you care for the pillows, the headrest is adjustable and the lumber is moveable.

I'm pretty happy for the price spent :P

Assembling, imo, is a 2 people task.

      p.s. , i'm 1.80meters tall, 90kg, avg to wide shoulders.
      Genetically damaged lower back :P

      • Sorry for having an opinion :'(
I did try it in store before gambling, and so should you.

Look into the second hand market, I’d recommend the zody

      • We've got the Zody at work and they are great chairs.

      ikea markus

      • Nah, I am going to sell mine to get something better soon.

        • For something under 300? I've had one for years and can't fault them for the price- my ergohuman I just got is possibly better was more than twice the price

    • I'd suggest spending more than $300, but if you cannot go higher then look for at least an AFRDI-approved chair. Most good office supply stores will stock them.

  • +7

It ain't TRULY ergonomic unless it's AFRDI endorsed (i.e. AS/NZS 4438 compliant). If not - then it is "ergonomic" in name alone but not function nor performance. For me, I've made the move to a compliant model and will never go back! The difference is tangible especially in the current WFH-heavy times.

^ This by a million. Must have the blue tick, or be top level brands (Flokk/RH/HAG/Giroflex, Herman Miller, Steelcase, Therapod)

I am not big on mesh seat pans, but a mesh back is fine. Computer work should be high(er) back, and ideally with headrest.

  • +1

Save some more and buy a Herman Miller.
Your back and your future self will thank you 10 years from now.

    Trust.

HM is good, but some better value an be found for less. HM on decent discount is hard to pass up though.

The chair I recommend for most people is actually the Serati Pro, and that comes in at $1000 to $1100, has features that rival the topline RH chairs at $2500 (which I have), and works better than the Aeron for most people working off a computer. Available multiple places including Backcare, Seated, and BadBacks.
