  • Is this better than Behringer UM series , I'm trying to get into learning guitar

  • I bought this for the software. Was thinking of of buying pro tools perpetual but going try first first.

    • Have a read of the 1-star reviews. A few of them mentioned there is no software despite what the manufacturer says.

  • I love my focusrite but these m-audio are not too bad.

  • Ugh just got the umc22 in the mail today. Probably should have got this

    • this is 99 from Store Dj. so……

      • +1

the umc22 is 24/192 vs this which is 24/48

if that sort of thing is important to you

      • The Solo is $99. The Duo is $109.

Unless you meant the UMC22, which is also $99.

        • true. 30 vs 20 is a huge difference in terms of saving.

  • Damn, just ordered and received my second one of these after giving up that they would come on special after a year of waiting.

For anyone interested, I was hoping that I could use two of these at once to have four inputs, but the driver doesn't seem to support it (at least not in Ableton Live 11). However, if you use asio4all you can use all 4 inputs at once, but I personally have stability issues when using it that way.

    Interested to hear others experiences.

    • Generally sound interfaces don't like working in tandem like that with ASIO drivers. I don't think I've ever managed it in any app with native ASIO drivers.

ASIO4ALL can do it, but as you say, it becomes a bit of a buggy mess.

Probably better off just buying an interface with the IOs you need in the first place. Especially if you can go 2nd hand - lots of higher channel devices go for good prices!

  • How would this go with some basic podcasting? Have enough gain for some rode podmics?
Or worth spending up for scarlett 2i2 or motu?

    • No way, frequency response on this is 20 - 20,000 Hz. The cheapest (decent) USB mic i have does 192,000 Hz.

      • +1

You are confusing the range of audio captured (20Hz - 20kHz, the range of human hearing) with the sample rate of the digital audio.

        • All the Tech Specs list is the frequency response, doesn't say if it's the capture range or sample rate, so how is one to know?

  • Hmmm I had to select the other shipping option to find it. I thought it had expired already!

I bet I didn’t read OP’s description close enough? No, didn’t see it mentioned or I’m blind.

M-Audio are usually pretty good hardware, often more expensive than similar products. However I have used it a bit in the past and always found it very good.

Behringer Is usually excellent features vs value for money. If you want a basic USB interface right through to full analogue or digital mixers, I’ve often chosen Behringer based on affordability but they don’t compromise on quality either.

I can’t compare the two at this end of the price range though. I’ve used similar M-Audio devices at this price point and found them to be very good. However I didn’t pay for them. ;-)

M-Audio might have a slightly more well known name? Depends on the circles you mix in.

  • One thing people might consider is there aren’t a lot of units at this price point with any sort of level meter- now your DAW software might be fine but sometimes it’s worth looking at the alternatives as just a clipping indicator might not be enough depending on your setup.

Any sort of VU meters are going to be hard to find at this price point. However at the very least a clipping light is a must have.

    • It looks like this does have a signal/clip LED for each channel on the top. Definitely no meter though

  • +1

The 1 star reviews are a buyer beware if ever I saw one.

  • how does this compares with M-Audio 1010LT?

  • Would this be a good mixer for karaoke?

  • It is showing AUD109 instead of 79.43

    • Thank you. I've marked the deal as expired.
